Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights

Chapter 282: Crimson Emperor — Immortal Armour

Chapter 282: Crimson Emperor — Immortal Armour

Both of them bolted toward each other but as they were about to clash, Godfrey suddenly became invisible.

The emperor cut through thin air but turned sharply when he sensed something behind. It cut through the air once more but Godfrey was below.

Though the emperor noticed in the next moment, it was too late as Godfrey thrust one of his dual swords right through the chainmail up the emperor’s chin.

Flames billowed out from his teeth and when he opened his mouth, they came out like his own carbon dioxide was flame.

Godfrey pulled out his sword, coating his swords in the sun flames before driving it down the chainmail into the emperor’s chest. The emperor dropped to his knees while Godfrey collapsed back first.

“Frey!!” Her scream pierced his ears. As delightful as her voice was, it hurt a bit. He was just that sensitive in his current state. His eyes reflected the dragon soaring toward the palace ruins.

Impatient, Isolde leaped from the dragon’s back, plummeting straight to the ground like a missile. Dust burst from the earth, rising up as she landed but still couldn’t bring herself to touch him.

He was covered in burn wounds and barely looked alive.

“Frey…” Her lips quivered.

“I’m alright.” Godfrey forced a smile. Suddenly, the armour pulled away from the dead emperor, piece after piece, flew toward him and assembled, each piece finding its place on Godfrey’s body.

The fragile dying man reflecting in Isolde’s eyes transformed into a terrifying armoured existence. She saw that the emperor had been sucked dry until he became a shriveled skeleton.

Isolde’s eyes widened. She tried pulling the armour off but the armour had already tapped into Godfrey’s body, draining the last of his mana.

Before everything went black, Godfrey wished he could tell Isolde that it was hopeless trying to damage the armour.

’What a strange man.’ A voice rang.

What?! The armour could speak?!

A pair of blue eyes opened. Godfrey blinked as he looked around, a bit confused as he stood in a hallway with one of the biggest doors he had ever seen before him.

This was his castle but this door was almost three times the size of other doors and carved into it was the same armour the emperor wore.

The door creaked as it slowly went inward, revealing a short staircase that led to a broad space where the Crimson Taotie Soldiers assembled.

The cavalrymen and the footmen, all standing like statues.

“How?” He muttered. Right then, all the taotie soldiers split and a being walked out. It was the armour. The black tattered cloth from the tassets billowed like shadows, slowly accompanying the clicks of metal against the ground.

Upon ascending the staircase, Godfrey eyed the armour, this strange relic staring right back at him as if sizing him up.

“Future king of the Pathans. You should have told me sooner, I would have allowed you to kill that old geezer much earlier.” The armour spoke.

It assembled over Godfrey’s body before he could reply. The moment Godfrey was completely covered with the emperor, the thirty thousand footmen dropped to their knees, pressing their heads on the ground while the cavalrymen bowed their heads.

“What do you think of my collection? Not too shabby, right?”

Godfrey wasn’t shocked to hear the armour speak again but donning a living armour was an experience he never thought possible.

’Wait.’ He left the hall, moving straight for the monument outside the door.

Relic: Immortal Armour

Tier: None

Description: [An armour created by a Generation-Zero sovereign god, one of the first ancient gods. Feeds on the host’s mana to be able to match the tier of the host while boosting overall strength, defense and agility by enhancing the host 1.0 above the host’s peak. Has unparalleled defensive traits and has been worn by countless great warriors, all of whom have eventually fallen leading to the armour’s true emotional detachment.]

“Ancient gods?” Godfrey squinted.

“What a strange place. Tsk, the mana tree will never stop creating one abomination after another. How did this thing know about me?” The armour scowled.

“I have a lot I don’t understand here. I believe you do so… what does these terms – generation zero, ancient gods and sovereign god mean?”

The armour sighed. “Ancient gods are beings higher than Titled gods, the sovereign god is just one of the tiers amongst the ancient gods but you don’t have to worry about that.”

“Why?”

“Because you won’t see it. You see the entire universe revolves around the mana tree’s question.”

“The mana tree asked a question?”

“Yes. What is the peak? It’s a tree that wonders if there’s truly a stage where there’s no further room for evolution, where there’s an end and that’s because the mana tree still grows. There’s a lot of stuff I wouldn’t like to say. Talking exhausts me but you’ll need to know this.”

The armour took a breath. “Every world usually gets to the final stage where they become mature. Then the mana tree selects some chosen worlds to pass through the Ruination Stage and that’s where most worlds fail and become ruined like the Pathans. They were a powerful race of men, grew to the level of Titled gods and as a chosen world faced the Ruination Stage. Hehe, the mana tree bombards your world with lots and lots of gods both inside and outside. The Pathanis formed other orders that fought themselves while the dungeons grew fiercer and fiercer but it couldn’t produce an ancient god and fell. The same thing is going to happen to earth.”

“I’m here and that’s doubtless proof that this is the next chosen world. And it’s already close to the final stage—!” The armour couldn’t conclude as Isolde came running toward Godfrey with the other Golden Order Knights behind her.

She wrapped her hand around his neck.

“Humph! She couldn’t even admire my looks. This is humiliating. I do not condone this relationship!” It snapped, unfortunately no one apart from Godfrey could hear it.

Isolde blinked when she finally realized the armour was still here. “How did it get here?” She frowned.

“Finally! She noticed me.”
