Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights

Chapter 225: Monster For A Child

Chapter 225: Monster For A Child

“So you passed their tradition. That counts, but to be officially considered a true couple you need a court registration at the very least.”

Snow sat down.

“Yeah sure. I’ll walk right out to meet a troop of agents waiting for me. That’s if they’ll even wait.” Godfrey scowled, took one more sip before facing Snow squarely.

“So?”

Snow cracked his neck and crossed one leg over the other. “I believe you’ve heard of the Association of Origins.”

“A bit.”

“Well, it’s an international association. They will be having their first meeting soon. Do you know what that means? A hundred Origin Tiers might show up, imagine all those powerful figures in one place.” Snow told Godfrey with slightly squinted eyes.

“They want to hunt the fugitives?” Godfrey asked.

“Well, I was invited with the sole aim of hunting you so I guess hunting down every fugitive might be amongst the list. Or just your mother. However…” Snow’s eyes gleamed.

“The agent said something that startled me. Dungeons capable of destroying Earth. Planet devourers. They might have spotted some and that’s going to be the major aspect of this meeting. At least that’s what I believe.”

Godfrey raised an eyebrow. “They’re hiding this from the public.”

“Well, the Origin Tiers have to be gathered so it would be news of hope instead of despair. I mean, knowing the entire planet is at risk of being devoured would collapse world order.” Snow replied.

“And Cain cares about that?”

“Cain?”

Godfrey frowned a bit at Snow’s expression. This was proof the world at large had no knowledge they were being played by Cain.

“He’s alive. To be more specific, he can live through his clones and one of them might be one of the Seven Heads.”

Snow’s expression changed.

“The clones have no idea they were made by Cain and the cycle continues to their descendants. Even our headmaster is a clone.”

Godfrey’s revelation made Snow’s eyes grow wide. Just when he thought he knew it all, another secret slammed him.

“Wait, then if he has been in the authorities for so long, why make everyone hate humanoid summoners? Why not twist the view of the public?”

“Because it doesn’t benefit him. He has made sure the strife between summoners becomes a historical rift and has worked hard to destroy any good deed done by other humanoid summons because he wants the public to chase them toward his followers, thus increasing the number of Fanatics.” Godfrey said with a solemn expression.

“This kind of society suits his ideals more.”

“People would question it but with the repetitive news and nationwide destruction caused by humanoids on his order, the minds of the public were corrupted.”

Godfrey’s words made Snow fall silent.

“So Cain can make people and summons? That’s terrifying.”

“What’s terrifying is that he wants my mother’s summon to make an immortal army and also resurrect himself. For some reason, he’s unable to replicate her ability. This Perfect Life Era is a scam but few will be able to look past the illusion of bringing back a loved one to see this lie for what it is.” Godfrey replied.

“This is…” Snow rose up from his seat. He could see Rowana’s horrified face at the corner. What Godfrey had revealed was enough to make one doubt themselves.

Had they been pawns all along? What would happen if Cain decided to take over the body they thought was theirs?

Snow looked out through the window. It was already late, but the lights from skyscrapers, the road and other buildings chased away the darkness.

But…

“This is a world Cain built then. This runs deep, Godfrey. It could mean that Cain killed himself. He knew of their plans, maybe even voted for it and got himself killed just to weaken everyone. Making us rest with the thought that he is dead and we only have his headless Fanatics to deal with.” Snow muttered aloud.

“Back to your question.” Snow turned to face Godfrey. “If Cain has gone to such length, I believe he would not want the world he has gained control over to crumble. He’ll save it by using the Origin Tier Summoners.”

“I’ll be on my way.” Godfrey rose to his feet after a moment of silence.

“Something tells me Cain is interested in you.” Snow said when Godfrey reached the door.

“It can’t be a coincidence Mr. Sebastian was our headmaster. It’s your summons, isn’t it? Your mother isn’t the only one he wants.”

The doorbell rang softly as Godfrey left. Snow looked at the door for a while and sat on a table.

“What a messed up world we live in.” He sighed.

***

“What in the world?!” Seraphina gasped with a pale face. She stood on the wall with many other summoners and like her, their faces were filled with disbelief and great shock at the sight of a battlefield littered with the corpses of white gorillas, and the gorilla boss, impaled by a massive golden spike.

Ronald stood in the midst of this slaughter like a stranger, meanwhile his summon heaved heavily. It had single-handedly massacred this army of gorillas.

The tracks of where it rolled past were filled with blood and deep holes caused by the spikes on its back. Its claws left gullies deep enough to swallow a ten feet tall pillar.

“I thought we would all have to fight but he faced that monster army alone. Five thousand Saint Tiers, two Divine Tiers and an Origin Tier boss killed by one man’s summon. I guess his fight against a hundred thousand orcs wasn’t far-fetched. This man is built to handle dreadful foes like these.”

Eliza was both awestruck and terrified. This was the vision of most summoners, to demolish monsters and not run from them.

Caspian and Alfred looked at themselves. At this rate, should Ronald open a Guild, they’d be forced to be second rate guilds.

This man was a true legend.

Alistair froze in place. To think they mocked and looked down on Godfrey. It might be because they weren’t there to watch his father face off against a hundred thousand orcs.

Seeing him destroy these gorillas reshaped his view. It lapped with Godfrey punching off the head of that skinny giant.

A legend really did birth a monster for a child.
