Chapter 2352 - 1171: Magic Network and Sky Net
Chapter 2352: Chapter 1171: Magic Network and Sky Net
Three days later.
Dorothy spent these three days surprisingly peacefully, without any unexpected incidents. She and Elsa played the role of a newlywed couple normally, going to work together at the military camp during the day and returning to their villa together in the evening.
Actually, the homebody witch thought they could just live at the military camp. After all, the Civil Engineering Department had so much space, and it would be quite easy to tidy up a couple of empty rooms. This would save an hour of commuting each day.
However, Elsa did not agree with her point. Angel Sister insisted on commuting every day, arguing that a newly allocated home wouldn’t feel like home if they didn’t live in it often.
In light of this, Dorothy felt quite helpless and could only agree, thinking that, after all, the hover car was self-driving and fuel and other expenses were covered by the system. She could continue studying on the car during the daily commute.
Hmm, in these three days, she had almost fully grasped the basic situation of the Mechanical Wilderness, appearing almost like a local. Even if someone mentioned some local slang, she could easily understand.
Additionally, she had conveniently studied all the content of the technical chips previously released by the Church of Machinery. Although she hadn’t put much into practice, she considered herself as a theoretical mechanical expert, with an education level exceeding ninety percent of the locals.
With this, her disguise was almost complete, reducing the risk of her identity being exposed to the minimum.
With a sigh of relief, she prepared to give herself a day off. Today, she wasn’t going to push herself too hard, planning to relax properly since today was the witch new year.
"Happy New Year, senior."
Early in the morning, Dorothy addressed the beautiful woman in the dressing mirror, strikingly black and white.
"Happy New Year, Dorothy."
Asa Vanni elegantly greeted her back.
Hmm, even though several days had passed, the homebody witch still felt somewhat unaccustomed to this senior’s noble and dignified demeanor.
"By the way, haven’t you successfully set up the Magic Network node yet? It’s troublesome to communicate via mirror every day."
Dorothy asked with some puzzlement.
A few days ago, the first thing they did upon landing was set up the Magic Network. The infiltration of Magic’s strength into this world would greatly facilitate their actions afterward, but so many days had passed, and yet the network was still down, which was quite strange.
After all, setting up the Magic Network wasn’t difficult. They had prepared the node materials well in advance and only needed to perform a summoning ceremony after landing. The homebody witch did not think her sisters would fail at such a basic ceremony.
Upon hearing her question, the Apocalyptic Witch’s expression grew more serious.
"Dorothy, I was just about to remind you of this. We have performed the Magic Network summoning ceremony several times these days, but all attempts ended in failure. After Sophilia and I carefully examined all the possible reasons for failure, we discovered that it wasn’t the ceremony that failed. It was that this world was already connected to the Magic Network, so naturally, we couldn’t establish a secondary connection."
Dorothy: "....."
The homebody witch was baffled.
What, already connected?
She opened her spellbook and found that it still displayed no signal, not in the Magic Network service area.
However, she didn’t immediately argue with senior Fanny but thought seriously for a moment before speaking.
"Uh, senior, are you referring to the Sky Net?"
That’s the only possibility she could think of.
Regarding this, Asa Vanni showed an expression of "as expected of you".
"Yes, just as you guessed, the Sky Net of this world is a subnetwork of the Magic Network, but it’s an independently operating subnetwork. That’s why our spellbook couldn’t connect. However, upon careful inspection over the past few days, this Sky Net possesses functions almost identical to the Magic Network. Dorothy, I believe this must be another conspiracy of the Demon King Teacher."
The Apocalyptic Witch nodded and subsequently reminded Dorothy.
Dorothy: "..."
Tch, she’d actually known all along this was a conspiracy by that pesky pupil Artie.
Moreover, the fact that the Sky Net is a subnetwork of the Magic Network was unexpected, but upon reflection, it does make sense. Considering this Mechanical Wilderness was the Chessboard World before, and how quickly that small Chessboard World transformed into the powerful Nine-star World, it was practically impossible without The Third King helping by bending the rules.
She then thought of Bahamut.
The "World of Warships" was originally a virtual game operating on the Magic Network. Without the Magic Network’s authorization, how could her warship girl wife materialize and even work for the Sky Net in this world?
If the Sky Net is indeed the Magic Network, this explanation makes sense.
"Artie, don’t casually tamper with other people’s game data, alright? You are invading personal privacy, and even a Magic Network administrator shouldn’t be so reckless. I’m going to file a complaint....."
The homebody witch trembled with anger and coldness.
Yet no matter how angry she got, it was useless. As the creator and administrator of the Magic Network, Lord Demon King’s power was limitless. Even if you complained, nothing would happen; it would be the situation of who dares to accuse this official.
"Sigh, senior, you all should be careful with your actions in the future. Without the communication and intelligence advantages of the Magic Network, many of our future actions will become a lot more troublesome."
Dorothy sighed and could only give this reminder.
