Otaku F*cks Them All
Chapter 63: Convenience Store
Kushina rose from the floor without a word. Her face was still streaked with the evidence of what had just happened, but she did not look at Kael. She walked straight into the small bathroom, closed the door most of the way, and began wiping her skin with tissue paper. Water ran a moment later. The sound of her washing her face was steady and controlled.
Kael stayed where he was, towel discarded, the last echoes of the forced climax still fading from his body. Relief mixed with a low, uneasy tension. He had finished the quest inside the time limit. He had not crossed the final line he had drawn for himself. That should have been enough.
The blue screen appeared anyway.
[You think you can fool the System?]
[From now on the quests will become harder. No reward will be granted.]
No reward window followed. The quest mark simply vanished, leaving behind only the quiet warning. Kael stared at the empty space where the usual prize notification should have been. Completing the objective had not satisfied whatever standard the System used. The shortcut with her hands had been noticed and judged insufficient.
Kushina stepped out of the bathroom. Her face was clean, her expression carefully neutral. She picked up the towel he had worn earlier, the same one that had been around his waist, and held it out to him.
"Cover yourself."
Kael took it and wrapped it back around his hips. Kushina’s voice stayed even, almost practical.
"I will speak with Lady Tsunade about your... problem. She may know a way to help you."
Even after everything that had occurred in the last hour, she still spoke like a mother looking for a solution for her child. The care in her tone sat strangely against the memory of her hands and the mess he had left on her face. She picked up her bag, adjusted the strap on her shoulder, and moved toward the door.
"I will find some solution," she said, and then she left.
The door closed behind her with a soft click.
Kael stood alone in the quiet apartment for a long moment. Finally he walked to the bed, dropped onto it face-first, and pressed both hands over his eyes. The physical relief of finishing the quest was already fading. In its place settled a heavier discomfort.
It was not that he disliked the System’s usual demands. Beautiful women, forced proximity, the constant push toward sex—those things aligned with parts of himself he no longer bothered to deny. The System only gave those impulses a sharper edge and a deadline. But Kushina was different. Every time he looked at her he saw the outline of his own mother from the previous life. The red hair, the fierce protectiveness, the way she still tried to fix things for him even when she should have been furious. Crossing that line, even partially, left a residue he did not enjoy.
He stayed on the bed until the light in the room shifted. Eventually exhaustion pulled him under. He slept through the afternoon without dreams he could remember.
When he opened his eyes again the apartment was dark. The clock on the low table showed a little past seven in the evening. His stomach growled loudly enough to make him wince. He did not want to return to his parents’ house tonight. Kushina needed space, and he did not trust the System to remain quiet if he walked back into that living room too soon.
Kael dressed in clean clothes, locked the apartment, and stepped out into the cooler night air. Ramen did not appeal. He walked until he found a small convenience store still open, the fluorescent lights bright against the dark street. Inside he moved down the narrow aisles and collected a few packaged meals, a bottle of water, and nothing that required cooking.
Near the counter a familiar figure stood with a small child resting against her shoulder.
Kurenai Yūhi.
The name and the face clicked together at once. In the stories he remembered she had been the jōnin sensei of Team 8—Hinata, Kiba, and Shino. She had also been involved with Asuma. Kael realized he had no idea what had happened to Asuma in this altered timeline. The man might still be alive. He might already be gone. The peaceful version of the village gave no obvious clues.
Kurenai turned slightly and noticed him. Her expression brightened more than he expected.
"Hey, Naruto."
The cheerfulness in her voice surprised him. In the original timeline their interactions had been polite but limited. Here she spoke as if they shared an easier acquaintance.
"Evening," Kael answered. He lifted the basket in his hand a little. "Just grabbing something to eat."
Kurenai glanced at the child on her shoulder. The little girl was already half-asleep, dark hair spilling over Kurenai’s jacket. "Mirai finally wore herself out. I thought I would pick up a few things before heading home."
They exchanged a few more ordinary sentences—comments about the weather, a brief mention of how quiet the streets felt at this hour, a small smile from Kurenai when the child stirred and then settled again. Nothing deep. Nothing that suggested the System was about to interfere.
Kurenai paid for her items, adjusted Mirai’s weight, and gave Kael a short nod.
"Don’t stay out too late."
She left the store. The bell above the door chimed once as it closed behind her.
Kael placed his own items on the counter. Before he could reach for his wallet the familiar blue screen bloomed in his vision.
He tensed, expecting another blunt sexual demand.
[Side Quest : Follow Kurenai]
No time limit. No clause about forced arousal. No mention of sex at all.
Kael stared at the simple instruction for a second.
Hey... what is this? You didn’t put any sex-related stuff on this quest.
The System offered no explanation. The quest marker simply floated there, waiting.
Kael paid for his food, stepped out onto the dark street, and looked in the direction Kurenai had gone. Her figure was still visible under the next streetlamp, the child a quiet shape against her shoulder. He waited until she had moved a little farther, then started after her at a careful distance, keeping to the shadows the way any trained shinobi would.
The night air felt cooler than before. The side quest hung in his vision like an unanswered question. For the first time since arriving in this world, the System had given him an order that did not immediately revolve around someone’s body. That fact alone made him more uneasy than the usual demands ever had.
He kept following in the dark quietly.
