Chapter 103

Orion landed calmly a short distance away, his white clothing splattered with blood. For a brief moment, the crimson stains stood out vividly against the pristine fabric before gradually disappearing, restoring his clothes to their original appearance as though nothing had happened.

His gaze remained steady, and all three daggers were still with him: the blue dagger in one hand, the red dagger in the other, and the white dagger held between his teeth. Rather than rushing forward to continue the assault, he stood where he had landed and calmly watched the Webfiend Lord recover from its wound.

The monster looked down at its chest before slowly raising its gaze toward Orion. As it stared at the young human, a terrible thought emerged in its mind.

I’m going to lose if this continues.

The realization struck it with such force that its eyes trembled. Never in its life had it imagined thinking such a thing while facing a human. It had always been the predator, the one whose opponents struggled desperately to survive, and it had never needed to consider the possibility that it might be the one who would die.

Yet now, the Webfiend Lord could feel the unmistakable presence of impending doom for the first time in its existence.

It was more than simple fear. Deep within its instincts, it understood that if the battle continued along its current course, its death was no longer an impossible outcome. Orion’s strength and combat skills had already pushed it to the brink, and the monster could no longer ignore the danger staring it in the face.

Its fingers tightened around its weapons.

I have no other choice.

Its expression grew grim as it accepted the situation.

If I don’t give this battle everything I have, I will surely die.

The Webfiend Lord spread its hands, and the webs erupted.

Countless strands burst from its body, spreading outward in every direction. They surged across the battlefield, blanketing the sky, crawling over the ground, and filling the surrounding air until Orion could barely see anything beyond the silvery network.

The webstrings continued multiplying and extending farther, connecting to one another until they formed an enormous web that surrounded the entire battlefield. Before long, Orion found himself standing inside a miniature forest made entirely of the Webfiend Lord’s deadly strings.

The strands hung overhead like twisted branches, while others spread across the ground, weaving between the cracks and craters left behind by their battle. More rose from the earth and crossed one another, gradually transforming the entire area into a web-covered domain.

Purple aura surged through the strands, spreading from one string to another and illuminating the vast network with an ominous glow.

Then the webs began to change shape.

Weapons formed simultaneously throughout the miniature forest, emerging from the strands in every direction. Swords, daggers, spears, and scythes took shape within the silvery network, their sharp edges pointing toward Orion from all sides.

Some hung overhead, poised to descend upon him, while others protruded from the ground, waiting for him to move within their reach. Still more hovered in the air, connected to the surrounding webs by thin strands that allowed the Webfiend Lord to control their movements.

Orion had been surrounded.

The battlefield had become a deadly cage, with every part of the environment transformed into a potential weapon. There was scarcely a direction in which he could move without entering the range of another blade, and the countless strands connecting the weapons gave the Webfiend Lord control over the entire domain.

From within its web-covered territory, the monster stared at Orion, its expression gradually regaining some of its former confidence.

"I’ll take you out right here."

Its voice reverberated throughout the battlefield, carried across the countless strands surrounding them.

"I won’t even need to take a step closer to finish you off."

The Webfiend Lord believed it had finally found a way to secure victory. It had stopped trying to defeat Orion through direct combat alone and instead transformed the entire battlefield into an extension of its body, creating countless weapons capable of attacking simultaneously from multiple directions.

Even if Orion managed to dodge one attack, dozens more would be waiting for him. Deflecting the weapons approaching from the front would leave him vulnerable to those closing in from behind or above, and any attempt to escape could be thwarted by the webs restricting his movements before he reached the edge of the domain.

This was the full extent of the Webfiend Lord’s power, bringing together its physical strength, control over webstrings, and newly acquired Grade S ability to create a battlefield where it held what it believed was an overwhelming advantage.

The monster’s smile widened as it became convinced that victory was finally within its grasp. Now that it was using its full power, it was certain it would slay the young human.

At least, that was what it believed.

Its confidence and excitement faded when it met Orion’s gaze again.

Something had changed.

The sparkling excitement that had previously filled Orion’s rainbow-coloured eyes was gone, along with the anticipation he had displayed throughout their battle. In its place was a composed, almost blank expression that revealed none of his earlier enthusiasm.

There was no visible excitement, impatience, or trace of the playful eagerness he had shown while exchanging blows with the monster. Orion simply looked at the Webfiend Lord, his calm gaze offering no indication of what he intended to do next.

Then he spoke in an equally calm voice.

"I guess I should bring this to an end."

A rainbow-like aura appeared around his body, spreading outward until it enveloped him in a brilliant radiance filled with countless shifting colours. The light flowed down his arms and gathered around the three daggers he carried, coating each blade in the same extraordinary energy.

The blue dagger shone brightly, the red dagger blazed with renewed brilliance, and the white dagger gleamed between his teeth. All three weapons were enveloped in rainbow-coloured energy simultaneously, their combined radiance illuminating Orion’s surroundings.

A system notification sounded.

Ding! Flash Skill has been activated.

Brilliant light enveloped Orion’s body, and his presence began to change as the skill took effect.

Finally, he released the leash on his telekinetic force.

Until now, Orion had deliberately restrained his telekinesis to prevent the battle from ending too quickly. He had wanted to experience the Webfiend Lord’s strength firsthand, test his fighting skills against its evolving combat abilities, and witness the monster’s transformation into a Grade S existence.

He had accomplished all of that.

There was no longer any reason to hold back.

Orion had found the opponent he wanted, and now it was time to end the battle.

The moment his telekinetic force erupted without restraint, the entire web-covered battlefield trembled. Countless strands shuddered violently as an invisible pressure swept outward, pressing against the webs from every direction.

The ground beneath Orion’s feet cracked, and the surrounding air twisted under the force of his unleashed power. Throughout the miniature forest, the weapons suspended between the strands began to vibrate as though an invisible force threatened to tear them apart.

The Webfiend Lord’s expression changed drastically. Its eyes widened, and the confident smile that had spread across its face vanished as the power radiating from Orion reached a level that made its instincts scream in alarm.

Only moments ago, it had believed victory was finally within its grasp. Now, standing inside its own domain and watching the white-haired human unleash his true power, the monster was forced to confront a terrible realization.

The battle had never been under its control.

Not even after reaching Grade S, multiplying its power threefold, or transforming the entire battlefield into a deadly web of weapons had it managed to gain control over the fight.

It had mistaken Orion’s restraint for weakness, and now it was about to pay the price.

Despair settled over the Webfiend Lord, but that alone would not save it. There was only one choice left: fight with everything it possessed and kill the human child before he could strike.

Kill this human child!

Kill him now!

The monster unleashed every weapon within its domain, sending countless blades hurtling toward Orion from all directions. The surrounding webs trembled as the weapons accelerated, converging on his position in a coordinated assault designed to leave him with nowhere to escape.

At the same moment, Orion vanished.

There was no dramatic declaration or drawn-out exchange. One instant, he stood within the web-covered battlefield, surrounded by countless deadly weapons; the next, he was gone.

The Webfiend Lord’s eyes widened in disbelief as it desperately tried to locate him, but Orion was nowhere to be seen. It could neither spot him nor track his movements, leaving it with nothing but the terrifying pressure that had suddenly descended upon its entire existence.

Several minutes later, a system notification flashed brightly across Orion’s vision.
