292 Vessels, Fear Of Loss

On the other hand, the Holy Light Palace had five Arch-Cardinals and a bunch of cardinals and priests under them. On top of them of all was the Holy Light Emperor. Well, Yang Lujia already knew much of the Holy Light Emperor from the five divine beasts’ story, of how the Holy Light Emperor saved my father.
It had to be noted, though, that Yang Lujia was not the one who was saved. It was his father. Thus, he did not owe anything to the Holy Light Emperor. Besides, with all the power he had now, it was already considered repaid.
“What the hell? My disciple already became the Holy Light Emperor? Our former Holy Light Emperor can now be called the Holy Light Ancestor? Why did they not call me for this important event?!” Supreme Elder Gu was furious as he thought about it.
Even the elder he talked with earlier did not know of this and so were the people. The moment the news came out, everything was in turmoil. They could not believe it that the Holy Light Emperor chose to step down.
What was even more infuriating to Supreme Elder Gu was that the Holy Light Emperor did not tell him about this. It was as though he was non-existent. Moreover, the first to know about this matter were those people from the Human Emperor Palace.
When Yang Lujia heard of this news, his eyes flashed with a cold light. His speculations before had been further solidified, although it wasn’t enough to guarantee that he was right. There was really something fishy about this Human Emperor Palace.
“Calm down, old man,” Yang Lujia said.
“What? Are you also behind this? What do you want?!”
“You’re overstepping the boundaries, old man. I do not know about this commotion. However, I have to tell you that this has got something to do with the Human Emperor Palace. My subordinate told me before about a vessel that could be used to bring people to the lower realm… is there such a thing in the Holy Light Palace?”
He knew that there was. He just wanted to confirm. His disciple’s mind might have been altered by someone or something, so he could not be at all certain about this.
“Vessel! Vessel of Luminescence!” Supreme Elder Gu’s figure disappeared from his sight. Yang Lujia called for his disciple and Yang Fei.
“You two, we have to be ready… Sheng Ao, I already about the location where you are found to have touched a woman. Let’s go there. Let’s not waste any more time.”
If he could not complete the mission given to him to clear Sheng Ao’s name, he would not be satisfied as there would be a reward for it. Therefore, Yang Lujia was adamant about it, and hurriedly, he transported himself with them back to the airship.
“Master, the Holy Light Emperor…” Sheng Ao lowered his head in shame. He felt shame. He should have been the one who would be crowned on this day, but it was taken by someone else. Although he had no qualms about becoming the Holy Light Emperor, he cared for the feelings of the Holy Light Emperor, the person who saved and raised him.
What did he feel about it? Did he feel disappointed and upset?
“Sheng Ao, as long as we clear your name, I know that the Holy Light Emperor will then be satisfied. He is the one who knows you by heart and he knows that you are not the kind of person that others structured behind your back. You don’t have to worry. Although he passed the throne to somebody else, he knows that you’ll come back. We just have to investigate your matter right away,” Yang Lujia said.
And with that, a certain airship of the Human Emperor Palace disappeared.
And just as they disappeared, the entire territory of the Holy Light Palace began to tremble.
Yang Lujia did not notice this. He was only set on finding the person who framed his disciple.
It was just that… that tremble was only momentary.
However, the problem was it did not happen only in the Holy Light Palace’s territory. It also happened to all the other palaces—not excluding the four regions!
However, Yang Lujia was oblivious to this. He was only curious about the motive of the person who framed his disciple. His disciple was someone pure and someone who had a deep connection with the Holy Light Emperor. Why did it seem like everything was orchestrated? As though everything was dancing on someone’s palm?
Once he uprooted the cause, he would be able to navigate from there to the main host of this show.
‘What is their plan?’
“Dragon Emperor Palace, huh?” Yang Lujia asked himself as they were already near the place, the palace where the news about Sheng Ao’s circumstance came from.
As Yang Lujia thought of this, he looked at the disciple behind him and Yang Fei. Sheng Ao was still cultivating hard and he actually reached the peak of the Saint King Realm with the Golden Lotus Scripture. It seemed like Fortuniel was really meticulous about the reward he gave me every time I accept a disciple.
Moreover…
Yang Lujia looked in the Dragon Emperor Palace’s direction. He had a feeling that he would be able to meet his disciple sooner. His second disciple who he somehow missed. That baby boy who he had raised by himself, although the boy grew up fast that he could already stand on his own.
He wouldn’t be surprised if Long Guang already reached the peak of the Saint King Realm.
On the other hand, there were surging currents within the Dragon Emperor Palace. After he raged in the Fiend Emperor Palace, he came back to check on his son again. His son was still alright.
“Brother Gu, is my son really going to be alright? I heard that there’s no cure for the poison inside his body. It’s getting more potent now and his body was starting to rot as time passes by. It’s getting scary. I never thought after I became the Dragon Ancestor… I will feel fear. This wasn’t fear from my foes but the kind of inexplicable fear of losing your son.”
Gu Tian drew a warm smile on his face that his eyes closed due to it. “You don’t have to worry about it, Brother Long. I have asked our Temporal Lord if he could help with your son’s condition. He tended to me and told me that he had the antidote to it. I don’t know if it could really cure your son, but it’s worth trying—”
Long Sheng, the Dragon Ancestor, immediately cut his friend off and knelt in front of him. He felt no shame. He only felt the fear of losing his own son, that son of his that he personally raised himself. He was afraid of losing him.
Gu Tian revealed an awkward look as he lightly rubbed the tip of his nose. “Well, Brother Long, Temporal Lord has agreed to it. However, he said to me that it wouldn’t be free—”
“Quick! Tell me! What is it that he wants?” Long Sheng interrupted him. “Even if it would cost my life, as long as my son would still live, I will be satisfied. He still had a long life to look forward to. As for me, I’m already old. Please… Brother Gu…”
Long Sheng had tears all over his face. Inside him, there was the rage for whoever made his son like this. However, what ruled his heart most was the fear of losing his own child. As a parent, although dragons were known for their dominance, when it came to their families, they would not forget to spare every effort they could do just to make their families happy.
“Well… Brother Long… it’s a bit complicated… I don’t know if you’ll agree to it because it involves something even heavier…” Gu Tian smiled wryly as a flash of strange light passed through his irises.
“Tell me. What is it, Brother Gu?” Long Sheng wiped the tears off his face and looked at Gu Tian seriously.
“Brother Long… the Temporal Lord wants you to activate it…”
Long Sheng showed a confused face but his face soon bloomed into shock as he looked at Gu Tian incredulously.
SIGH.
“Yes, Brother Long. You’re right about what you’re thinking. In exchange for the antidote, he told me to activate the Paramountcy Vessel that you have in your territory. Not just a single function of it but all of its functions… you have to activate them…”
“…”
