279 Yang Fei II
“Who is it?” Linghu Fan turned vigilant as he brandished a sword made of qi. He then turned in the direction where he heard the voice from. However, as he stood, he found someone patting one of his shoulders, giving him a cold shudder.
“This brother… you’re very impatient,” the lazy voice rang out as a person appeared from their sight while Linghu Fan was rendered immobile, especially more so when he saw the appearance of the other party.
They held resemblances! Noticeable resemblances!
But with the power that this man held, he knew that that opponent he had in the past would be no match in front of this being that rendered him immobile.
When he soon regained control of his body, he calmed down and looked at the man that just arrived without warning. “Is this the man you’re talking about, little sister?” he asked while still looking at this man who had an impassive look on his face.
“Y-Yes…” Linghu Ran was stunned speechless, looking at the man who conquered her stone heart. “Ahhh!” she suddenly screamed as she ran out of the room with her head bowed and her face glowing red.
The Association Head shook his head as he looked at this being that just arrived. “What can I do for you, Your Highness?”
“I am interested in this one called Yang Fei. Can you tell me more about him?”
“Why are you calling him His Highness?”
Before the Association Head could answer, Linghu Fan glared at him and threw a question that the former expected him to ask.
“His Highness is a being that comes from a higher world. I dare not be disrespectful, Young Head. Even if it’s you, I would not hesitate to kill anyone as long as His Highness orders it.”
“This…” Linghu Fan was shocked and returned his gaze to Yang Lujia, whose eyes already turned purple, with him getting lost in thought as well. Linghu Fan hurriedly used his eyes as well as they glimmered with bluish light, which surprised the other party. “You…” Linghu Fan was trembling as he stared at Yang Lujia, his pair of blue eyes trying not to waver. “You have the same eyes as him…”
“Yang Fei?” Yang Lujia replied. “What do you know about him?”
As Yang Lujia talked, his eyes glowed even more as he pushed the power of his eyes into Linghu Fan’s as the latter gradually lost control over his mind. Linghu Fan then replied in all honesty, “Yang Fei is a man that tops the ranking of the Top 100 Geniuses in the four regions. He earned the title Battle Dominator because of his domineering demeanor as he fought with other geniuses with all ease. As for his location, he was usually moving from one place to another to search for more opportunities and was said to have brave dangers more than I and the other geniuses did.
“Yang Fei also had the same purple eyes as you. However, his seemed to be much weaker than yours. In our last battle, I lasted for more than a minute against him. That was because I could negate the controlling power of his eyes with my unique pair of eyes. However, I don’t why, but it seemed ineffective against you.
“Yang Fei also has a lot of resemblances to you have. He’s also devilishly handsome…”
“Okay, enough. I’ve heard enough. I just got excited to know someone who could one or two of my abilities,” Yang Lujia cut him off as the control over the other party wore off.
Linghu Fan was scared the moment Yang Lujia retracted his control from him. The feeling of being controlled did not sink in as he never thought he would be controlled by somebody. It turned out that even with his pair of eyes, he still could not defend himself.
“You don’t have to worry about me controlling you. If I longed to control you, I would have already done it sooner,” Yang Lujia spoke with a smile but not a smile.
This Linghu Fan was the Young Head of the Adventurers’ Association. In other words, he was someone important, the son of the head of the main branch of this association—an important pawn he had to grasp.
“I apologize, Your Highness,” Linghu Fan respectfully said, standing up and giving Yang Lujia a bow. “I will now report back to the association and tell my father about His Highness’ appearance. I will tell him to be careful and be wary of His Highness. Also, I will tell him to protect the people from the Third Region if they so ever be struck with peril.”
“Alright,” Yang Lujia said, still smiling.
He never thought that his purple eyes could have this effect on lower beings like this. If he knew about this, he would have already used it to the extent of controlling others. However, he knew that this kind of control would be temporary. He wanted his control over others to last long, so he could rule over them longer.
He knew that his father made a name before and he would do the same—even grander than the former had created.
“Now, let’s get back to business,” Yang Lujia said as he waved his hand, and Linghu Fan disappeared. “Here’s my disciple.”
Sheng Ao then appeared and was surprised at how his master controlled someone as powerful as Linghu Fan. Even he felt apprehensive when he saw this man, but his master smoothly controlled him like he was arranging books on a shelf.
“I want you to look for information about this Nine-Leaf Nirvana Herb as soon as you can. My disciple was crippled and the only thing that can heal him is this miraculous herb.”
“The Nine-Leaf Nirvana Herb!” the Association Head showed a surprised look but went grim by a second as he uttered words that Yang Lujia would not expect. “Phoenix Empress Palace. Only the Phoenix Ancestor could give you the Nine-Lead Nirvana Herb as she was the only one who held that kind of treasure as rumored. She was an expert who was at the same level as the Dragon Ancestor, a being that had long stood at the peak of the entire realm, Da Shikong.”
“Phoenix Empress Palace? Does this have something to do with the Third Region?”
The Association Head nodded his head as he looked at Yang Lujia seriously. “In fact, the Third Region’s major backer is the Phoenix Empress Palace.”
Suppressing the surprise in his heart, Yang Lujia turned silent as his face remained nonchalant, even when he heard about the Phoenix Ancestor.
“How about we let this go, master? I’m okay—”
“That can’t be done,” Yang Lujia cut him off as he looked at Sheng Ao, smiling playfully. “Prepare yourself, though. If they don’t give the Nine-Leaf Nirvana Herb, I don’t mind cooking chickens to make our meal.”
When the Association Head heard this, he was only momentarily shocked and went back to his business. “Is that there is all to it, Your Highness?”
“Yes, appreciated.”
When Yang Lujia disappeared, the Association Head felt like a weight was lifted off from his shoulders. The pressure Yang Lujia gave him was certainly not small. While he did not exude any immortal-like aura or even qi, the pressure coming from him was still very dense—he even thought he was going to die. Fortunately, he had joined his side earlier. Otherwise, there could only be one end for him—death.
On the other hand, Yang Lujia talked with his disciple above the clouds as he looked at him from head to toe. “You look ragged. Let’s get you a set of the robe that can protect you temporarily while your cultivation was robbed from you.”
Yang Lujia searched for his collections in Fortuniel’s storage space. Soon enough, he found a white robe that looked similar to his previously white robe. It did not have shining properties, but its surface was unbelievably silky or soft. “Here it is. It suits you, baldy.”
When Sheng Ao heard his master call him baldy, something inside him jumped—as if it was excited—but he could not exactly point it out. “Thank you, master.” He bowed towards Yang Lujia and undressed in front of his master without any reservations.
“Do all monks do this?” Yang Lujia sighed at this sight. “Do you have no shame at all? At least, when you decided to undress to change your clothes in the future, find a place where you can be less shameful.”
Sheng Ao, whose thoughts were pure, looked at his master strangely. “Master, have you not undressed before in front of people?”
“What are you saying, you brat?” Yang Lujia wanted to smack Sheng Ao but remembered that this disciple of his was still a mortal at the moment, so he suppressed his emotions. “Anyway, just do what I said.”
“Okay?” Sheng Ao still did not understand but he went along the flow.
