Meanwhile, Yang Xun had just finished his shower.

He looked down at the red marks Su Mei had left on his chest and let out a helpless sigh. He had to go home soon, and if Xu Yue saw these, he would never be able to explain himself.

*DING.* His phone chimed.

Yang Xun picked it up. It was a message from Xu Yue: "Didn’t you say you were coming back today? Why aren’t you home yet?"

The corners of his mouth curled up involuntarily, and a profound sense of warmth and security washed over him.

"I’m almost home. Wait for me."

After replying, he grabbed his jacket draped over the back of the chair, pushed the door open, and left.

Dusk had completely fallen, and the streetlights along the road cast a row of warm yellow glows. Yang Xun drove through the city. By the time he returned to the Xu Family Villa, the kitchen lights were still on.

He pushed the door open and was greeted by the rich aroma of food.

Wearing an apron, Xu Yue stood before the stove, looking down as she dropped goji berries into a clay pot. Her long black hair was loosely pinned up behind her head, with a few stray strands framing her face.

Hearing his footsteps, she turned around. Her gentle, beautiful eyes were filled with a smile. "You’re finally back. Go wash your hands; the soup is almost ready."

Looking at her silhouette bathed in the warm, yellow light, Yang Xun felt a surge of warmth envelop his heart.

"What’s wrong?" Xu Yue tilted her head curiously, seeing him standing motionless.

"Nothing." Yang Xun walked over, gently wrapping his arms around her waist from behind and resting his chin on her shoulder. "I just think it’s really great to have a wife."

Xu Yue was momentarily stunned by his sudden embrace. Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she lightly patted his hand wrapped around her waist. "Save the sweet talk. Go wash your hands and eat. The food is going to get cold."

Yang Xun chuckled, released her, and headed upstairs.

After dinner, the two snuggled on the sofa, chatting.

"Honey," Yang Xun called out softly.

"Hmm?" Xu Yue looked up at him. As their breaths mingled, the atmosphere gradually grew intimate.

"Aren’t you going to ask me what I’ve been doing in Shunping these past few days?"

"As long as you come back safe and sound, that’s enough," Xu Yue said without hesitation. "If you wanted to tell me, you’d do it on your own."

It wasn’t that she wasn’t curious about what Yang Xun had been up to, but she felt she should give him her complete trust. As long as he returned safely, nothing else mattered.

Looking into her eyes, which were brimming with a gentle smile, Yang Xun felt a stir in his heart. He reached out, pulled her into his arms, and lowered his head to kiss her.

After the kiss, Xu Yue seemed to remember something. Panting slightly, she said, "Oh, right. I have a class reunion tomorrow night."

"Is this really the right time to bring that up?" Yang Xun’s breathing was heavy, his eyes swirling with surging desire.

"Let me finish! I skipped the last two, but this time, the class monitor personally called to say it’s been a long time and hoped I could make an appearance. If you’re free, come with me."

Yang Xun raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure you want to bring me?"

"You’re my husband. Who else would I bring?" Xu Yue’s tone was completely natural.

In the past, she had never invited him to these kinds of gatherings, afraid he would feel out of place.

Yang Xun smiled faintly and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Alright, I’ll go with you. But tonight, you have to serve me well."

With that, he scooped Xu Yue up in his arms and headed upstairs.

"Let me take a shower first. I’m all sweaty." Blushing deeply, Xu Yue scurried into the bathroom the moment they entered the bedroom.

A short while later, the bathroom door opened. Xu Yue walked out wearing a light gray silk slip nightgown. The neckline was slightly open, revealing skin that was faintly flushed from the hot water. Her wet hair clung to her collarbones, and droplets of water slid slowly down the curves of her neck, disappearing into her alluring cleavage.

Yang Xun stared at her with burning eyes, lust surging within him.

Xu Yue felt a bit self-conscious under his intense gaze. She averted her eyes, sat down at the vanity, and picked up the hairdryer. Just as she was about to dry her hair, Yang Xun took it from her hands from behind.

"Let me," he said softly.

Warm air billowed from the hairdryer. His fingers sifted through her damp hair, the pads of his fingers gently massaging her scalp.

Xu Yue closed her eyes, relaxing completely as if she were soaking in a hot bath. She leaned back slightly, her back resting against his chest.

"Have you lost weight recently?" Yang Xun asked casually while drying her hair.

"Not at all. I eat, sleep, and eat every day. I actually feel like I’ve gained a few pounds."

"It’s good to be a little plumper. You’re nicer to hold."

Xu Yue couldn’t help but laugh at his words, but the very next second, Yang Xun embraced her tightly from behind.

At some point, the hairdryer had been turned off. The room plunged into silence, leaving only the sound of their intertwined breathing.

"Honey, I missed you so much," Yang Xun murmured, his voice low and right against her ear.

Xu Yue’s ears turned red, but she didn’t pull away. Instead, she turned her head slightly, her lips gently brushing against his jawline.

"I missed you too."

Those words acted like a lit fuse, instantly igniting the simmering heat that had been building up between them over the past few days.

Yang Xun lowered his head and captured her lips. Xu Yue’s response was gentle yet proactive. Her slender fingers gripped the collar of his shirt as she slowly deepened the kiss.

Their brief separation had only made their reunion sweeter, and both were incredibly eager.

The temperature in the room steadily rose. The light from the bedside lamp cast their entwined silhouettes against the wall.

The next morning, Yang Xun was dragged out of bed by Xu Yue.

"Time to get up. You’re coming to the company with me today."

Xu Yue was dressed in a tailored off-white blazer, her long black hair tied neatly behind her head. She looked highly capable yet elegantly gentle. Standing by the bed with her car keys in hand, she leaned over to kiss his forehead. "Hurry up and get out of bed," she urged with a hint of playful exasperation. "Stop dragging your feet."

Yang Xun opened his bleary, sleep-filled eyes. Seeing her face, which looked especially radiant in the morning light, he couldn’t resist reaching out, grabbing her waist, and pulling her onto the bed. "Just five more minutes."

Caught off guard, Xu Yue stumbled and fell into his arms. Amused and slightly exasperated, she slapped his chest lightly. "Stop messing around! I have a morning meeting today, so I really have to go. You’re coming with me. After the meeting, I’ll show you around and catch you up on the company’s recent developments."

Only then did Yang Xun let go. He sat up in bed and rubbed his face.

Xu Yue had already stood up and was smoothing out her rumpled blazer. She winked at him. "I’ll wait for you downstairs."

She knew that men tended to be quite energetic in the mornings. If she didn’t leave the bedroom soon, there was a high chance he would drag her back into bed for another round.

Half an hour later, Yang Xun drove Xu Yue to the entrance of her company building.

When the employees saw Xu Yue, they respectfully greeted her one after another, though none dared to look at Yang Xun beside her.

Yang Xun’s feat of shattering a conference table with a single palm strike had already spread throughout the company. Everyone knew that President Xu’s live-in husband was not someone to be trifled with.

"Good morning, President Xu! Good morning, Mr. Yang!"

Xu Yue smiled and nodded in acknowledgment, and Yang Xun gave them a nod as well.
