Chapter 135: Chapter 88: Governor Appointment Letter for Yun Port City?

Lu Yun slowly raised his right hand, palm facing up. Then, he saw wisps of an earthen-yellow aura, visible to the naked eye, flow out from his palm.

The Qi of a Grandmaster of Huajin was formless. Lu Yun knew this better than anyone.

But things were different now. This earthen-yellow aura wasn’t just an "upgraded version" of Qi; it was also fused with his Martial Dao Will, coalescing into a substance that existed somewhere between the ethereal and the real.

It could be seen, it could be touched, and it could be manipulated and used for attacks like a physical object—just like that strange foreigner’s black water.

Lu Yun looked away and carefully sensed the brand-new power within his body.

Then he froze. His perceptive range had also undergone an earth-shattering change.

Previously, as a Grandmaster of Huajin, Lu Yun’s danger sense had a range of a few dozen meters.

Within that range, not the slightest disturbance, no hint of killing intent, no trace of sinister energy could escape his perception.

But now, Lu Yun’s perception was like a vast, invisible net, spreading rapidly outward from him in all directions.

One hundred meters, two hundred meters, three hundred meters... Only when it extended to about five hundred meters did the tendrils of his perception finally, slowly, come to a halt.

A flicker of unconcealable shock flashed through Lu Yun’s eyes. Five hundred meters—that was more than ten times the range of a Grandmaster of Huajin!

What did this mean?

It meant that from now on, if anyone within five hundred meters intended him harm—even if they had just raised a gun, just started to aim—he would instantly sense their position.

’Especially sniper rifles,’ the thought flashed through Lu Yun’s mind. Firearms like sniper rifles had always been one of the banes of a Grandmaster of Huajin.

Why?

Because snipers could open fire from outside the perceptive range of a Grandmaster of Huajin.

The perceptive range of a Grandmaster of Huajin was typically around fifty meters, whereas a skilled sniper could make a precision shot from three hundred, five hundred, or even greater distances.

By the time the bullet entered a Grandmaster of Huajin’s perceptive range, only a few tenths of a second would remain.

That wasn’t nearly enough time to dodge. But now... a slight smile touched the corners of Lu Yun’s lips.

Within his five-hundred-meter perceptive range, he could instantly detect any sniper who entered the area.

And a distance of five hundred meters was already at the edge of a sniper rifle’s maximum effective range.

At that distance, a bullet would need nearly a second to travel. A full second was enough time to do many things.

Lu Yun retracted his perception and looked down at the slowly swirling ball of earthen-yellow aura in his palm.

’This Realm is on a completely different level than Huajin.’

A tall figure hurried in through the living room doorway. He stood close to six feet tall, looked to be in his late twenties, and wore a well-tailored, dark gray suit. His leather shoes were polished to a mirror shine, and his hair was impeccably combed.

He had deep-set features and bright, spirited eyes. A closer look revealed that he bore a strong resemblance to a younger Lu Yun.

This was none other than Lu Yun’s second son, Lu Jingjun, who was also Li Zhen’s eldest son-in-law.

Lu Jingjun strode into the living room, his eyes immediately falling upon the dining table, which was laden with a dazzling array of delicacies.

Braised pork knuckle, steamed sea bass, sea cucumber with scallions, pan-fried prawns...

On the nearby wine cabinet, bottles of red wine were lined up neatly—clearly high-quality imports from the Western World.

He stopped in his tracks, looking with some surprise at Li Zhen and his younger siblings-in-law on the sofa. "Huh? Dad, why did you have them make so much food today? Are we having guests?"

Li Zhen looked up at his words, but before he could speak, Li Zhiyun at his side cut in, saying with extreme excitement, "Brother-in-law, it’s not a guest! Your father is here from Yun Port City!"

"What? My father’s here?"

Lu Jingjun froze for a moment. Just as he snapped out of it and was about to ask for more details, a figure slowly emerged from an inner room.

Upon seeing the person, Lu Jingjun’s eyes went wide. He instinctively rushed forward, his knees buckled, and with a THUD, he dropped into a sliding kneel!

Lu Jingjun threw himself at Lu Yun’s legs and hugged them tightly, his voice choked with emotion. "Father, what are you doing in the Capital City? Your son has been unfilial! I couldn’t even make it back for your sixtieth birthday!"

"And now you have to come all this way to see me!"

Lu Yun looked down at his second son, who was nearly identical to his younger self, a gentle look in his eyes.

He reached out with his left hand and, just as he had when Lu Jingjun was a child, gently patted his head.

"It’s alright. I know you’re very busy here."

Hearing this, Lu Jingjun looked up, wiped his face roughly, and then stood up. "Father, don’t say another word. I’ve already made up my mind. I’ll come back to Yun Port City in a few days to be with you."

He paused, as if about to say something more, but his attention was captured by the change in Lu Yun’s appearance.

Lu Jingjun studied his father’s face intently. It was a face he knew so well, one he had looked at since he was a child; he could trace the path of every wrinkle with his eyes closed.

But now... where were the wrinkles? The deep frown lines etched into his forehead were completely gone.

His once salt-and-pepper hair now had much more black in it, his once slightly sagging skin had become firm, and his whole person seemed to have shed more than a decade.

At this realization, Lu Jingjun’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Huh? Father... how have you gotten so much younger?"

A while ago, his older brother, Lu Jingteng, had sent a letter from Yun Port City saying their father had broken through to become a Grandmaster of Huajin.

He knew that becoming a Grandmaster of Huajin could indeed slow the aging process to some extent, but who had ever heard of someone regressing in age like his father had?
