Chapter 310: First Patient.
Chapter 310: 310: First Patient.
"We should save him quickly before he dies!" Ally said immediately, stepping forward.
However, Lord Vale pulled her back. "We don’t know who he is or whether he’s dangerous. We can’t just save him like that," he insisted.
"But he doesn’t have any malicious energy at all. He’s just a weak beastman who’s been injured..." Ally looked at her father earnestly. "I’m sure of it. Trust me, we have to save him before things get worse."
Lord Vale stared at her for a while before finally nodding. "Are you sure you can save him, though? Have your skills improved enough?"
Ally sighed. "Not as much as Mama’s, but at least I can do something. Besides, I guess he’ll have to be my first patient..." she said, looking down at the sickly young rabbit beastman lying before her. He was around her age, yet he looked as though he could barely hold on to life.
Lord Vale sighed and nodded. "Okay. Begin the treatment if you can."
With that, Ally knelt beside the young beastman while Lord Vale and the others watched closely to see what she would do. Meanwhile, a few of the warriors remained on guard, keeping an eye on their surroundings in case any more wild monsters appeared.
The young rabbit groaned in pain, muttering incoherent words as he struggled to remain conscious. Ally placed her bag beside her and opened it, immediately taking out the items she believed she would need.
She then turned her attention to the young male, carefully examining his injuries before studying his face. Following her mother’s teachings, Ally gently ran a hand over his forehead and closed her eyes, feeling his temperature while sensing the flow of energy around him.
Once she was done, she moved to his hand, holding it gently as she checked his pulse and examined his energy flow.
Lord Vale raised an eyebrow at the sight. "Don’t get too close to him. And don’t get too touchy with that stranger," he warned, acting every bit like an overprotective father who didn’t want his daughter getting too close to an unknown male.
"....."
The warrior beastmen exchanged surprised glances before one of them cautiously asked, "But how is the healer supposed to treat her patient if she can’t touch him?"
Lord Vale shot him a cold glare.
"Talk again, and you’ll be the next patient," he informed him calmly.
"....."
The warriors immediately shut their mouths and continued watching without making any further comments.
Meanwhile, Ally ignored their antics and continued with the treatment. She took out some medicine from her bag and carefully sprinkled it over the rabbit’s injuries.
The young beastman groaned in pain, his body trembling from the discomfort.
Ally smiled warmly and gently ran her hand through his hair, soothing him as she spoke. "It’s okay... I’m here."
She had learned from Ayra that it was important to comfort patients with gentle words, especially when they were experiencing pain during treatment.
As Ally continued soothing him, the rabbit slowly opened his eyes. His gaze fell upon the girl treating him so gently, and he found himself unable to look away. For a moment, he seemed to forget about his pain as he stared at her with quiet appreciation.
Lord Vale folded his arms, watching the scene with growing displeasure.
"Don’t be too nice to strangers. Hurry up with the treatment," he said before glancing down at the rabbit. "Hey, you! Rabbit! Close your eyes and stop staring!"
"....."
The warrior beastmen could only exchange glances, deciding that staying quiet was the safest option.
Ally continued with the basic treatment, applying the medicine she had brought along. Once she finished, she proceeded to use her pheromone energy.
Closing her eyes, she gathered her strength and placed a hand over the rabbit’s chest, carefully channeling her energy into his body. She inhaled and exhaled slowly, using her soothing pheromones to calm him from within.
She had practiced this repeatedly, and now she was finally putting it to use for the first time. Her soothing and healing energy was supposed to support the physical treatment she had already administered, helping his body recover from the inside.
As she continued, the rabbit closed his eyes. His breathing initially became steady, but soon, it grew rapid and erratic, as though he were struggling to draw another breath.
"Oh! What’s happening?" one of the beastmen exclaimed in shock.
Ally immediately opened her eyes. "What’s happening? I’m sure I’m doing it right, though..." she muttered, trying a different approach.
She adjusted the flow of her energy and attempted again, but the result was the same. The rabbit’s breathing became faster and more unstable, resembling that of someone on the verge of death.
Frightened, Ally immediately pulled her hand away and stared down at him in panic.
"What’s happening...? I practiced this, and I’m sure this is how it’s supposed to be done. This is how Mama does it, so why isn’t it working?" she asked anxiously.
She had no idea what to do next as the rabbit continued struggling to breathe, each breath growing weaker and more uneven.
Lord Vale looked at the injured beastman before turning his attention to Ally, who was beginning to panic. He stepped closer and gently patted her back.
"Calm down. You don’t need to panic. You’re already doing a good job," he assured her first, trying to settle her nerves.
"But..." Ally looked down at the dying rabbit, her face filled with worry. "I did everything Mama does. I learned it from her, so why isn’t it working?"
Lord Vale glanced at the rabbit before looking back at his daughter.
"You and your mother are two different healers with two different sets of unique skills. Don’t you think it’s possible that you might not be able to do things the same way she does?" he asked.
At his words, Ally paused.
She let his explanation sink in, her gaze returning to the rabbit, who was still struggling to breathe. Slowly, his words began to make sense. She had been so focused on copying her mother’s methods that she hadn’t considered whether her own abilities might work differently.
After a brief moment of hesitation, Ally finally thought of a solution.
