Chapter 175: 175: The Leopard’s Gratitude

"How do you see it... Do you like it?" Ayra stared at him, studying his expression.

Klatan was short of words for a while but ultimately ended up smiling as he slowly nodded at his reflection.

Ayra smiled. "That’s good. You can use that if you feel insecure about your face... Until your face completely heals," she explained. "I’ll teach you how to apply it always."

Klatan stared at her. "This is... How is this possible...? It’s unnoticeable and blends so well..."

Ayra smiled. "It’s a secret potion.. nothing much," she smiled as she watched him admire his face in the water.

Everyone standing there also stared in admiration of the trick the female had used. They were constantly impressed by the female’s ways, and this was another!

"It feels like a magic trick..." They commented.

Klatan slowly stared up at Ayra as he said, "But why.. how... Why are you doing all these.. why are you helping me... I mean..." He was short of words.

But Ayra gently placed a hand over his hand. "Don’t mention it at all..."

Then Ayra slowly said, "I was terrible back then and was a monster who didn’t know better.. but now I’m extremely sorry and want to make it up.. I hope you accept my apology..."

Klatan was speechless. He and Klat simply stared in disbelief. They couldn’t believe the vicious female who did this to them was apologizing.

They were simply short of words.

But Ayra smiled as she said, "You don’t have to forgive me immediately. Take your time... I’ll teach you how to apply it constantly and also help you get better, okay?"

---

Ayra continued with rehabilitation for Klatan until he got better. In a few days, the leopard could now walk again.

His bones and body were strong again. The infections had been eliminated and he was healthy again. The scars around his face were still visible but would take some time to disappear. So Ayra had taught him to apply the makeup so he could cover it up while it faded.

Klatan happily learned it and made use of it. Now walking, the leopard happily strolled the tribe in the company of Klat and Ayra.

He was happy to be able to see the place again. He had been locked up inside that he didn’t know how to feel. But now he felt free again and happy.

Klat was happy to see his brother happy again. The twins’ joy were restored by Ayra completely.

---

One evening, Ayra had visited Klatan to see how he was doing in his cave.

Lord Ash and Commander Lynn had insisted on following her to keep her company. Lord Vale and Lord Zark were busy taking care of the eggs from jumping off and running off as they always did.

With time, the eggs were constantly moving around. The snake eggs had become more active, rolling around as if they could see. But the dragon egg was always sitting quietly at a spot.

Much attention was given to these eggs to make sure they didn’t run out of sight. Even more security beastmen had manned the area.

"Must you visit him again?" Lord Ash asked, folding his arms.

Ayra smiled. "Why? Jealous?" Ayra could tell they were. The three tribe lords and Commander Lynn had always had the same expression seeing her get close to her patient, Klatan.

"What if I am," Lord Ash folded his arms. "You’re mine. So you should pay attention to me... Don’t pay too much attention to everyone..."

Ayra smiled. "He’s my patient so I have to take good care of him. It’s my job. But don’t worry, I’ll take care of you when the time comes?"

"What if I also get hurt?" Lord Ash inquired.

"..." Ayra stared at him. "Then I’ll have to beat you up more silly, why would you do something silly?"

"Don’t worry, I won’t. But remember, spend some time with me too..." He tilted his head at her.

Ayra nodded. "Don’t worry, when I’m done with my patients, I’ll spend some time with you. Okay?"

Commander Lynn frowned as he stared down while they moved. Ayra stared at him as she said, "And you too..."

Commander Lynn didn’t show it. But his ears had twitched in mild excitement. Ayra casually smiled shaking her head.

As soon as Ayra arrived at Klatan’s cave room, she was surprised to see the amount of fruits and flowers present.

She stepped in, watching Klat bring forth fruits which he placed right before her. Klatan was laying on his bed, getting some rest from all the walking he did.

Ayra was surprised. "This... What’s all this...?"

Klat stared down at the fruits. "This is... For you..."

Ayra smiled. "For me?"

Klat nodded without words.

Klatan smiled as he said, "I think my brother is too shy and filled with guilt to speak, so I’ll do the talking."

Klatan stared at her as he said, "This is our token of gratitude in appreciation to the female for what she has done to us over the past days..."

"At first we were scared and skeptical because of the past but I guess we misjudged you... It turns out you actually came to help us..."

"Thank you for saving me. For miraculously making me walk again and restoring my health and everything... I will forever be grateful and indebted to the female!"

Klat managed to say as he went down on his knees.

"I’m sorry for joining forces with the enemy and trying to take you down... I was completely ignorant... You ended up saving my brother... Thank you."

Ayra smiled as she slowly helped him up. "Not at all. I was the one who made things like this to start with, so it’s something I should do... Don’t thank me too much for it."

"We still have to appreciate you. Accept our gift of gratitude for saving me..." Klatan insisted.

Ayra stared at the fruits and flowers with a smile. She guessed she had no reason not to accept it.
