Chapter 91: Blessing Something Once Again, The Dragon Head Trophy
Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Blessing Something Once Again, The Dragon Head Trophy
[Do you wish to use the “Key of Elements” to open the “Elemental Gate”?]
[Yes] [Hell yeah]
“…I guess that’s to be expected.”
Leon wasn’t even surprised.
Much like the moment when he had been asked whether or not he wanted to proceed to the second assessment immediately, the system simply did not allow him to choose “no.”
His [Celestial] title was the reason.
Once something appeared in front of him as a true path forward, he was forced to walk it.
The fact that it activated even in a situation like this was… interesting.
It meant that in the future, there would likely be many more moments where Leon would have no option but to move forward, no matter how dangerous or uncertain the outcome was.
It didn’t bother him. If anything, it was good to know early.
Still, Leon didn’t rush into it right away. He casually cast the panel aside.
Unlike before, there was no time limit forcing him to make an immediate decision. The gate wasn’t going anywhere.
So instead of stepping through right away, he decided to take care of everything else first.
Preparation always came first. The very first thing Leon did was consume the [Guardian Dragon of Elements Essence].
The moment he did, a warm sensation spread through his body.
[Spirit +100, Constitution +50]
Leon exhaled slowly as his body adjusted.
“That’s a pretty nice boost.”
Next, he equipped the [Elemental Dragon Armor (Mythical)].
The moment the armor settled onto his body, he could feel the difference immediately. It was heavier than his previous one, but in a good way: stable, solid, and protective.
Leon flexed his arm once, feeling the flow of mana through it.
“Well,” he said, scratching his chin, “this armor is good enough that I might actually keep it for a long time.”
Then his gaze sharpened slightly.
“And now that I know the [Blood Heart] doesn’t take that long to recharge…”
A grin formed on his face.
“…might as well do it.”
Leon focused inward, reaching for the unique special item bound directly to him.
His heartbeat slowed, then synced, aligning perfectly with the pulsing rhythm of the [Blood Heart].
The sensation was familiar now.
And then—
Ding!
[You have used the “Blood Heart” on the “Elemental Dragon Armor”]
[You have blessed the “Elemental Dragon Armor”]
Fwoosh!
A surge of crimson light burst outward, wrapping itself around Leon’s body. The glow seeped into the armor, causing it to shine repeatedly before slowly settling down.
When the light faded, thin crimson lines had formed along the surface of the armor, tracing patterns between the elemental engravings.
Leon immediately opened the item’s panel.
—
[Elemental Dragon Armor (Mythical): +2,000 Defense, +1,200 Spirit, +1,000 Constitution, +500 Agility. Protects slightly from elemental attacks.]
[Blood Heart Blessing: Able to cast “Storm of Elements”.]
—
“…Huh.”
As expected, the armor’s stats hadn’t changed. The [Blood Heart] didn’t seem to directly increase numerical values.
But the blessing itself? That was far more interesting.
Unlike the blessing on his [Void Staff], this one granted him an entirely new active ability. A real one.
Leon quickly checked the details.
[Storm of Elements (Blessing): Summon the power of your four basic elements into a storm in a nearby area, able to disrupt opponents.]
“…Damn.”
It clearly wasn’t on the same level as the dragon’s version of the spell, but that didn’t matter.
It was still a powerful new skill, and one that synergized perfectly with Leon’s talents.
Ding!
[The “Blood Heart” has gone on cooldown. Please recharge it by killing monsters!]
“Right.”
Leon nodded calmly. All things considered, he was extremely satisfied.
Between the stat boosts, the new armor, and the blessing, he had grown noticeably stronger in a very short time.
He could have also used the [Blood Heart] on his [Undead Sword +3], but he hesitated.
’I’ll probably replace that sword soon anyway,’ Leon thought.
Still…
’Although,’ he admitted to himself, ’based on what I saw with the previous blessings… the one on that sword might actually strengthen my undead.’
Leon hadn’t forgotten about his [Basic Necromancy (E-Level)] sub-talent.
The problem was simple: his undead were still too weak to be useful.
Using them right now was more of a liability than an advantage.
Even so, Leon didn’t plan to abandon the talent. In the future, he wanted to make proper use of it.
The best way to do that was to upgrade it, but that was easier said than done.
Opponents with necromancy-related talents were rare. And the stronger a talent was, the rarer it became. Some only appeared on a handful of monsters in the entire domains.
Still, Leon wasn’t the type to give up. He’d find a way eventually.
Finally, his gaze shifted to the last item dropped by the dragon: [Elemental Dragon Head (Trophy)]
This item was the second most interesting one in the batch. And not because of its stats.
But because Leon already knew a possible use for it.
In the [Higher Domain], players would eventually encounter an NPC known as the [Hunter]. An incredibly powerful existence.
One who could grant massive rewards, unlock special shops, and even provide access to some of the most dangerous and lucrative quests in the entire domain.
But earning his favor wasn’t easy. The [Hunter] didn’t care about words or promises. He cared about proof.
About things he deemed “worthy.” And what could possibly be more worthy than a literal dragon’s head?
Leon couldn’t help but grin.
’If this works… things could get very interesting.’
He stored the trophy inside his [Storage Space], making a mental note to remember it when the time was right.
Once everything was done, Leon finally turned back to the floating panel.
Without hesitation, he pressed the second option: [Hell yeah]
Fwoosh! Ding!
[Opening the “Elemental Gate”]
Immediately, the [Key of Elements] floated out of Leon’s storage space on its own and drifted toward the massive gate.
Click!
The key slid perfectly into the lock. With a heavy rumble, the gate unlocked and split open from both sides.
A powerful aura poured out from beyond it, washing over Leon in waves.
“…Hm.”
For some reason, Leon felt a bad feeling creep up his spine. But that didn’t stop him. He stepped forward.
Fwoosh!
Leon passed through the elemental gate.
SLAM!
The moment he emerged on the other side, the gate shut violently behind him. There was no going back.
Ding!
[Grab the reward of your assessment, Celestial.]
“Oh?” Leon’s eyes narrowed slightly. “So these are my rewards.”
After everything he had gone through, he fully expected something special.
Leon looked around. He was now standing in a massive room, though smaller than the previous chamber.
On the left side stood a tall altar. It was ancient, cracked, and worn, yet it glowed faintly with power.
Streams of elemental energy flowed through the cracks like glowing veins.
Leon could feel it immediately. This altar wasn’t decorative. It was something he could interact with.
On the right side of the room stood a small pedestal. An item rested on top of it, glowing faintly.
And finally, in the center of the room, floating in midair, surrounded by several strands of elemental light… Was an egg.
A crimson egg. It radiated an overwhelming aura, one so powerful that Leon didn’t need a panel to understand a single thing.
Whatever was inside it was terrifying. This was the reward room of the [Elemental Temple].
A place no one had ever reached before. No player before him had set foot here.
That alone spoke volumes about what Leon had just accomplished.
Leon’s gaze shifted back to the pedestal.
The item resting there looked like some kind of syringe, filled with an unfamiliar liquid that shimmered softly.
“…Alright,” Leon said with a grin. “Time to get my rewards.”
With that, he stepped forward toward the three rewards awaiting him.
