Chapter 76: The Lunar Threshold, Emilia’s Explosive Growth
Chapter 76: Chapter 76: The Lunar Threshold, Emilia’s Explosive Growth
Leon and Emilia left [Moon City] at full speed, their figures quickly disappearing past the outer paths and into the wild terrain beyond.
The city faded behind them, replaced by uneven ground, pale stone, and faint lunar light that seemed to cling to everything in this region.
“If we want the best essences,” Leon said calmly while moving forward without slowing down, “then we need to aim for the strongest monsters around here.”
Emilia nodded immediately.
She didn’t question him. At this point, she trusted Leon’s judgment almost completely.
To be honest, for a long time now, she had believed that Leon’s talent was what allowed him to know so much.
He always seemed to be aware of things that other players shouldn’t reasonably know yet.
Information about hidden quests, dangerous areas, strange mechanics, he spoke about them naturally, as if they were common knowledge.
From Merek’s quest, to the [Blood Heart Challenge], to many other things she had witnessed personally.
It had never quite made sense.
And now that she knew his real talent was [100% Drop Rate], it somehow felt even stranger.
That talent explained his explosive growth and the absurd number of items he obtained, but it didn’t explain how he always seemed one step ahead of the world itself.
The only explanations she could come up with were limited: Either Leon was hiding a sub-talent. Or his [Title] granted him information-related effects.
Or… there was something else entirely. Something far more unusual.
She decided not to ask right now.
If Leon wanted to tell her, he would. And if he didn’t, then pushing him would only make things awkward.
After everything that had happened to her, after being betrayed by people she trusted, just being able to fight alongside someone like Leon already meant more than enough.
They continued rushing forward. Roughly twenty minutes later, the atmosphere around them changed.
The air became heavier. The lunar light intensified, bathing the land in a faint crimson tint.
And then—
Ding!
[You have entered the “Lunar Threshold”]
Leon slowed to a stop. Emilia followed suit, her eyes scanning the surroundings carefully.
This was the zone Leon had been aiming for from the start.
The [Lunar Threshold] was the most dangerous area in this region, home to the highest-level monsters available to them: level 25.
The monsters here would provide far more experience, and thanks to Leon’s talent, far better essences and equipment as well.
But the reason this place held its name wasn’t because of the monsters. Leon lifted his gaze forward.
“There it is,” he said with a grin. “The [Land of Mist].”
Before them stood a massive wall of swirling mist, stretching endlessly to the left and right.
It wasn’t thin or transparent, it was dense, thick, and unnatural, as if the world itself refused to allow passage.
No one at level 25 or below could enter it.
Once a player completed their second assessment, they would be teleported directly to the other side of the mist.
To return to [Moon City], they would need to traverse the [Land of Mist] itself.
And while it contained valuable opportunities, it also served another purpose. It was a barrier.
A way to prevent over-leveled players from casually returning to low-level zones and causing havoc.
The reason was simple: the [Land of Mist] was a level 40 zone.
Any player below level 40 who tried to cross it would face extreme danger. Death was a very real possibility.
Leon didn’t worry about it for now. That place would be explored later.
For the moment, his attention shifted to what truly mattered. The monsters.
They were already surrounding the area, their forms clearly visible through the faint crimson haze.
Leon’s eyes narrowed slightly as multiple panels appeared before him.
—
[Blood Lunar Sentinel (Mutated)]
[Level: 25]
[Talent: Blood Affinity (C-Level), Constitution Enhancement (D-Level)]
[Combat Power: 25,000]
[Details: A lunar sentinel that has mutated due to the influence of the Blood Moon.]
—
[Blood Moon Spirit (Mutated)]
[Level: 25]
[Talent: Blood Affinity (C-Level), Spirit Enhancement (E-Level)]
[Combat Power: 26,000]
[Details: A wandering spirit driven into aggression by the moon’s corrupted rays.]
—
There were five of each monster type. Ten enemies in total.
And every single one of them was mutated.
The [Blood Moon] had already risen, and any monster with affinity toward lunar energy had undergone mutation because of it.
Emilia’s lips curved upward.
“Now I see why this is the best grinding spot,” she said.
“Not just that,” Leon replied, smiling as well. “Their talents, too.”
At the moment, Emilia only possessed two sub-talents: [Agility Enhancement (D-Level)] and [Poison Resistance (D-Level)].
They weren’t bad. But they weren’t optimal either.
Leon had already decided that her growth should focus on [Agility] and [Constitution]. And ideally, she would also obtain all attribute-related sub-talents.
Especially [Constitution Enhancement]. When combined with her title’s passive effects, it would become absurdly powerful.
Leon stepped forward. The monsters reacted instantly, sensing hostility.
But Leon was faster.
Powerful Fireball!
He focused his spirit.
Mana condensed rapidly at the tip of his staff, compressing into a blazing sphere of heat and force.
Fwoosh!
The fireball shot forward before any of the monsters could even move. The impact was instantaneous.
The explosion engulfed the entire group, flames tearing through mutated flesh and spirit forms alike.
There was no resistance. No struggle.
When the flames vanished, nothing remained.
Ding!
[You have killed x5 “Blood Moon Spirit (Mutated)” and x5 “Blood Lunar Sentinel (Mutated)” and gained 21,000 experience points.]
[100% Drop Rate has triggered…]
Ding!
[Congratulations, you have leveled up to Level 22!]
[Due to “Heaven’s Blessing”, you have gained 125 points in all attributes and 125 free points to distribute.]
“Nice,” Leon muttered.
He immediately opened the drop notifications. The items were plentiful.
[Blood Lunar Sentinel Essence x5: Consuming will increase Constitution by 8 and Strength by 5.]
[Blood Moon Spirit Essence x5: Consuming will increase Spirit by 12.]
[Sub-Talent Scrolls: x5 Spirit Enhancement (E-Level), x5 Constitution Enhancement (D-Level), x10 Blood Affinity (C-Level)]
[Blood Sentinel Armor x5 (Epic)]
Leon barely spared the armor a glance.
His focus was on the essences and sub-talent scrolls.
Without hesitation, he handed Emilia two [Constitution Enhancement] scrolls and two [Spirit Enhancement] scrolls.
Then he gave her three sentinel essences and two spirit essences.
“Use them,” he said simply.
They consumed the essences first.
[+16 Constitution, +10 Strength, +36 Spirit.]
Immediately afterward, they began using the scrolls.
Leon activated his.
Fwoosh! Ding!
[Fusion successful.]
[You have evolved “Constitution Enhancement (D-Level)” into “Super Constitution Enhancement (C-Level)”]
[Super Constitution Enhancement (C-Level): Permanently increases Constitution by 50%.]
He attempted to fuse the remaining two scrolls. Failure. Both were destroyed.
Leon clicked his tongue lightly and shifted focus to Spirit Enhancement.
Ding!
[Fusion failed.]
He only had one scroll left afterward, so he stored it away.
Meanwhile, Emilia finished her own fusions. Both succeeded.
She gained [Super Constitution Enhancement (C-Level)] and [Spirit Enhancement (D-Level)].
The effect was immediate. Emilia’s Constitution alone was already around 2,500 points.
With her title’s passive, that number was multiplied to 12,500. Which translated directly into 25,000 Combat Power.
Then the 50% bonus applied. An instant gain of 12,500 Combat Power.
Her Spirit attribute surged as well, adding even more.
Leon stared. Even he hadn’t expected such a massive jump.
Her build had become terrifying. She could deal serious damage, and tank almost anything.
Honestly, Leon wasn’t even sure he could harm her if he tried.
Even a level 35 player would struggle to break through her Constitution.
“I feel so… powerful,” Emilia said, clenching her fists with a grin. “It’s incredible.”
“We’re aiming higher,” Leon replied calmly. “I can keep farming sub-talents.”
Her eyes sparkled, “Then let’s do it.”
“Split up for now,” Leon said. “We level separately and meet again right before level 25.”
“Deal.”
Emilia turned and rushed toward another group of monsters, her movements confident and fast.
Leon watched her go. Then he turned his attention back to his own panel.
There was one last thing he wanted to check: the [Blood Affinity] sub-talent scrolls.
