Online Game: I Have A 100% Drop Rate

Chapter 65: Tolkien’s SS-Level Secret Quest, Blood Moon Crystal

Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Tolkien’s SS-Level Secret Quest, Blood Moon Crystal

Leon carefully reread the description of his talent, his eyes lingering on every single word.

[100% Drop Rate (SSS-Level Talent): Whether it is slaying monsters, opening treasure chests, or anything related to drop rates, you will always get 100% of the drops, no matter what.]

The wording was simple. Almost deceptively so.

“Anything related to drop rates,” Leon muttered under his breath.

That meant monsters, chests, bosses, basically anything.

But what he really wanted to confirm was something else entirely.

Before he could think any further, the system answered him.

Ding!

[You have killed x5 “Moon Sect Guard” and gained 10,000 experience points!]

Leon barely had time to register the experience gain before another familiar panel appeared.

[100% Drop Rate has triggered, items have been automatically placed in your storage space.]

“Haha!” Leon burst out laughing. “So it really does work!”

The sound echoed through the blacksmith’s shop, sharp and clear against the stillness that followed the slaughter.

It worked on natives as well! That realization alone was enormous. In fact, it changed a lot of things.

If natives dropped loot, then the entire world of [Eternal Ascension] looked very different to Leon now.

Equipment, materials, rare items, anything tied to a drop table was fair game.

The only remaining unknown was players. And Leon knew that question wouldn’t remain unanswered for long.

Especially once he reached the [Higher Domain].

That was where the truly dangerous players gathered. Those who would align themselves with gods. Those who thought themselves untouchable.

Leon pushed those thoughts aside for now and opened his storage space.

The items dropped by the Moon Sect Guards immediately came into view.

[Moon Sect Armor x5 (Uncommon): +400 Defense, +200 Constitution, +50 Agility. May be able to resist lunar-based attacks.]

[Moon Sect Sword x2 (Uncommon)]

[Moon Sect Staff x3 (Rare)]

“…Damn.”

It was solid loot.

Not incredible, but definitely usable. The armor especially wasn’t bad for uncommon gear, and the staffs being rare meant they would fetch a decent price or serve as backups.

Still, something was missing.

“No essences,” Leon said quietly.

That made sense. Monsters were creatures shaped by mana and the system itself, while natives were bound by different rules.

Even so, Leon was more than satisfied.

He stored everything away and turned his attention back to the blacksmith.

Tolkien was still standing behind the counter, his massive arms folded, chains clinking softly as he shifted his weight.

“More of them are going to come,” the blacksmith said in a low voice.

Leon shrugged. “Not during the [Blood Moon] I think. They’re busy worshiping for some time.”

“And after?”

“After the event ends or probably after a while” Leon replied calmly, “Yeah.”

Tolkien grunted.

Leon stepped closer to the counter, lowering his voice slightly. “They mentioned a crystal.”

The blacksmith’s hammer paused mid-motion.

“…So you heard that.”

Leon nodded. “That’s what I came for.”

Tolkien exhaled through his nose, setting the hammer down.

“The [Blood Moon Crystal]. It’s used to unlock a challenge in the deepest part of the [Blood Moon Cathedral].”

His gaze sharpened. “The Moon Sect has been obsessed with it for years. They fail every time. Some players come begging me for one too. None of them ever come back.”

“I want one,” Leon said simply.

The blacksmith stared at him for a long moment, then let out a dry laugh. “Another fool chasing death.”

Leon didn’t respond. He just met Tolkien’s gaze without flinching.

Silence stretched between them.

Finally, Tolkien sighed. “Alright. I’ll give you one of the crystals I was supposed to hand over to them.”

Leon raised an eyebrow.

“But don’t expect miracles,” Tolkien continued. “I’ve seen stronger people than you disappear in that place.

Ding!

[You have triggered the SS-Level Secret Quest: “Blood Heart Challenge”]

[Time Limit: End of Blood Moon Event.]

[Penalty Failure: Reputation with Tolkien drops to zero (unable to re-take quest.)]

[Description: There is a terrifying force residing deep inside of the “Blood Moon Cathedral”, only accessible via the hardest difficulty. Use the crystal Tolkien gave you to access it and free him from his chains!]

At the same time, Tolkien placed a crimson crystal on the counter. It pulsed faintly, almost like a heartbeat.

Leon picked it up, inspecting it closely.

[Blood Moon Crystal (Quest Item): Able to open the gate leading to the “Blood Heart Challenge”]

“The chains won’t break until whatever’s sealed inside that cathedral is dealt with,” Tolkien said, his expression dark. “Help me out, human.”

Leon smiled slowly. “And the reward?”

Tolkien blinked. “You’ve got nerve.”

“A quest without a reward isn’t a quest,” Leon replied lightly.

The blacksmith rubbed his chin, thinking. Then his eyes lit up slightly.

“How about this…”

Fwoosh! Ding!

[Reward: Storage Space Expander (Mythical)]

Leon’s breath hitched. His eyes widened for just a fraction of a second before he could stop himself.

A [Storage Space Expander]. And not just any, Mythical rank.

“This is my most prized possession,” Tolkien said seriously.

Leon didn’t need an explanation. Storage space was one of the most restrictive systems in [Eternal Ascension].

Expanding it with Eternal Coins cost an absurd amount, and the price scaled higher and higher each time.

Items that expanded storage directly were so rare that most players never even saw one.

Leon himself had always assumed Eternal Coins were the only option for him. And now one was right in front of him.

“Deal,” Leon said instantly.

Then, as if remembering something, he added, “By the way. You buy materials?”

Tolkien groaned. “I’ve been chained here for years. You think I see anything interesting?”

Then he paused, eyes narrowing. “But judging by your confidence… show me.”

Leon glanced at Emilia. She nodded. Together, they placed all of their materials onto the counter.

One by one, piles of items appeared: Elemental Stones, Darkness Wolf Claws, Lunar Tusks, Moon Bear Fur, and more.

Tolkien’s eyes widened slightly as he inspected them, his hands hovering over the materials as if afraid they might vanish.

“Elemental Stones… Darkness Wolf Claws…” he muttered. “This is good. Very good.”

After a moment, a panel appeared.

Fwoosh!

[Tolkien wishes to buy all your materials for 7,840 Eternal Coins.]

“Pretty good,” Leon nodded.

There was a reason he didn’t bother with the [Trading House]. Supply and demand.

Most players didn’t need crafting materials. And the few who did often wanted higher-grade ones. That meant selling directly to blacksmiths like Tolkien was far more efficient.

Leon accepted the deal without hesitation.

Ding!

[Your reputation with “Tolkien, The Cursed Blacksmith” has slightly increased.]

The Eternal Coins flowed into his balance.

Leon didn’t regret selling any of it. None of those materials were truly top-tier, and he didn’t need a custom weapon yet. The gear he obtained through his talent was more than enough for now.

Later, though… He already knew he’d need a powerful blacksmith. Especially once he reached the [Higher Domain].

That was where he’d obtained his [Magical Sword] in his past life. A weapon he relied on until the very end.

And then there was the [Core of Poison (Special Material)].

Leon kept that one hidden. For now, it was better to wait until his reputation with Tolkien improved further.

After finishing their business, Leon and Emilia stepped away from the counter.

“I’ll be waiting,” Tolkien said gruffly. “Though I don’t expect you to come back.”

Leon grinned. “I’ve heard that before.” Merek’s face briefly flashed through his mind, “I’ll be back.”

Tolkien scoffed. “Sure you will.”

Leon turned toward the exit. No matter what, he wasn’t letting go of that [Storage Space Expander].

And more than that, he wanted to see what truly awaited him inside the [Blood Moon Cathedral].
