Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Core of Poison Special Material, Reached 10,000 Eternal Coins!
[Celestial’s Might has activated.]
The moment the system message appeared, the atmosphere inside the clearing changed completely.
An invisible pressure descended from above, heavy and overwhelming, pressing down on everything within range.
The ground trembled. The air itself seemed to distort, as if the world was struggling to bear the weight of Leon’s presence.
The [Guardian of Poison] was the first to react.
Its massive body began to shake violently, metal armor rattling as if it were about to fall apart. The green light pulsing from its chest flickered erratically, no longer stable.
Fwish!
A shockwave rippled outward, passing straight through both the guardian and the [Core of Poison].
In an instant, the effect became clear.
—
[Guardian of Poison (Boss)]
[Combat Power: 13,300]
—
[Core of Poison (Zone Boss)]
[Combat Power: 16,800]
—
Their combat power plummeted.
What had once been two terrifying bosses now felt… incomplete. Weakened. Stripped of a large portion of their strength as if something fundamental had been ripped away.
Emilia stared at the panels, her mouth slightly open.
“God damn…” she muttered. “I noticed it back then against the [Undead King], but seeing it happen again…”
She trailed off, unable to finish her sentence.
She had felt the pressure earlier, faintly, but it hadn’t been directed at her.
It was focused, controlled, and merciless. Still, she couldn’t understand how something intangible could reduce monsters like this by such a ridiculous margin.
Thirty percent. That wasn’t a debuff. That was domination.
And Leon didn’t hesitate for even a second.
Fwoosh!
He dashed forward, his body blurring as he closed the distance between himself and the guardian.
The ground cracked beneath his feet from the sheer force of his acceleration.
Slash!
His sword came down in a clean, brutal arc.
The [Guardian of Poison] tried to react—but it was too slow. The pressure from [Celestial’s Might] weighed it down, disrupting its movements completely.
The blow landed. The guardian staggered, its body freezing for a brief moment as the impact stunned it completely.
Leon didn’t stop.
Slash!
The second strike wasn’t aimed at the guardian.
It was aimed directly at the glowing orb embedded in its chest.
Crack!
A sharp, piercing sound echoed through the clearing.
A deep fissure spread across the surface of the [Core of Poison], green light leaking violently from the fracture.
The orb began pulsing erratically, releasing unstable shockwaves that slammed into Leon’s [Darkness Barrier].
Boom! Boom!
Each pulse carried immense force, but Leon stood firm, his barrier holding strong.
Roooar!
The guardian let out a distorted roar, its voice filled with rage and desperation. It tried to move, to protect the core, but its weakened body simply couldn’t keep up.
Leon stepped in again.
Slash! Slash!
His sword struck the core repeatedly, each hit widening the cracks spreading across its surface.
Crack! Crack!
The orb’s glow flickered wildly now, its poison leaking uncontrollably into the air.
Just as it seemed like the next strike would finish it—
Fwoosh!
The [Core of Poison] suddenly surged with power.
All of its remaining energy condensed into a single point, focusing entirely on Leon.
The poison around it twisted violently, forming a concentrated attack meant to erase him in one blow.
But Leon didn’t panic. He didn’t rush.
“Now,” he said calmly.
The moment Emilia heard his voice, she reacted without hesitation.
She raised her scepter, mana surging violently around her.
Divine Beam! Spectral Flames!
BOOM!
The beam of holy light struck the core head-on, disrupting its charge. At the same time, ethereal flames engulfed both the orb and the guardian, burning with terrifying intensity.
The core screeched, an unnatural, piercing sound that echoed throughout the clearing.
As a last desperate move, the [Core of Poison] tore itself free from the guardian’s chest.
The instant it detached, the [Guardian of Poison] collapsed.
Its body froze mid-motion, then crumbled lifelessly to the ground. Without the core sustaining it, it was nothing more than an empty shell.
The orb hovered in the air, glowing brighter than ever.
Green light flooded the clearing as poison poured out endlessly, saturating everything in a final attempt to overwhelm them.
But it was already too late.
Powerful Fireball!
Leon’s voice was calm.
A massive fireball slammed into the core, detonating with explosive force. Cracks spread across its entire surface like a shattered mirror.
Leon appeared behind it in the next instant.
Slash!
His sword came down with decisive force.
BOOM!
The [Core of Poison] shattered completely, fragments scattering across the ground as the green light faded away.
Silence followed.
The oppressive poison in the air dissipated rapidly, leaving behind nothing but the ruined clearing and the remains of the fallen bosses.
“Phew,” Leon exhaled, a grin spreading across his face. “We did it.”
Ding!
[You have killed “Guardian of Poison (Boss)” and gained 1,000 experience points.]
[You have killed “Core of Poison (Zone Boss)” and gained 3,000 experience points.]
[100% Drop Rate has triggered, items have been automatically placed in your storage space.]
“Nice.”
The experience gain was solid, especially considering he had fought them at their intended level.
Grinding level 15 monsters endlessly wouldn’t be efficient anymore. If he wanted to keep progressing at a good pace, he needed to move on.
On the other hand, Emilia’s level shot up immediately.
Her eyes widened as the system notifications flooded in.
“I’m level 15 now!” she said, grinning widely. “I can finally equip that scepter!”
She unequipped her current weapon and pulled out the [Undead King Scepter], gripping it tightly as she equipped it.
The moment she did, her mana surged violently. Her spirit skyrocketed. Her combat power jumped instantly.
Leon glanced at her panel and nodded in approval.
Meanwhile, he turned his attention to his own rewards.
This was a zone boss. He expected good things.
Opening his [Storage Space], he checked the items one by one.
[Guardian of Poison Essence: Consuming will increase Agility by 7 and Strength by 5.]
[Core of Poison Essence: Consuming will increase Spirit by 15 and Constitution by 10.]
[Spear of Poison (Legendary): +500 Attack, +400 Strength, +250 Agility. Applies “Poison” to target. Requirement: Level 15 and completing the “Poison Forest”.]
[Poison Antidote x5]
[Core of Poison (Special Material): Can be used to infuse an armor with the power of the “Core of Poison”.]
[Poison Guardian Armor (Epic): +500 Defense, +350 Constitution, +50 Agility. Requirement: Level 15.]
[Skill Stones x5]
[Enhancement Stones x6]
“…Damn,” Leon muttered. “Pretty good.”
Most of it was solid. But his eyes lingered on one item in particular.
The [Core of Poison (Special Material)].
That was what he really wanted. Special materials were rare, extremely rare, and their value was absurd.
No matter the market conditions, they always sold for massive amounts.
That was why Meker had bought the [Darkened Star Grass] for 500 Eternal Coins without hesitation.
Normal materials, even legendary-ranked ones, were nowhere near that valuable.
Something like [Poison Tusks] might sell for fifty coins at best.
But a special material like this? Several thousand Eternal Coins was a conservative estimate.
They also had advanced uses, infusing equipment, crafting unique items, but only professional blacksmiths or alchemists could handle that.
And none of that was possible in the [Lower Domain].
Leon stored the material carefully in a separate section of his [Storage Space].
Then he consumed the essences.
Ding!
[Agility +7, Spirit +15, Strength +5 and Constitution +10]
Warmth surged through his body as his stats increased. His muscles felt lighter, his mind sharper, his body sturdier.
A satisfied grin spread across his face.
As for the [Spear of Poison] and the [Poison Guardian Armor], he didn’t need them.
He had always used a sword, even in his past life. Changing weapons now felt unnecessary.
Besides, his current gear was already stronger.
He stored them away, planning to either sell them later or pass them to Aaron or David.
That left the antidotes. Those were easy.
The [Poison Forest] was still a major obstacle for many players. Antidotes were essential.
Leon listed all five on the [Trading House] for 200 Eternal Coins each.
Ding!
[You have sold x5 “Poison Antidote” for 1,000 Eternal Coins.]
“Haha!”
Leon checked his balance.
[Eternal Coins: 10,588]
“Oh,” he said, eyes gleaming. “I think it’s time.”
Emilia tilted her head. “Time for what?”
Leon grinned, “To expand my [Storage Space].”
