Chapter 524: Attacking the Requiem Stronghold

"Already?" Emilia asked, surprised by his decision.

"Yes," Leon replied with a nod. "All of us are strong enough to withstand soul-related abilities now, and our combat power has increased considerably. We should be able to deal with the entire Requiem Guild."

The Requiem Guild had been a serious threat when Leon first encountered them, but the situation had changed dramatically since then.

His combat power had increased, his soul-related abilities had grown stronger, and his companions were now far more capable of defending themselves against the attacks that had once made the guild so dangerous.

In fact, Leon was confident that the Requiem Guild stood absolutely no chance against him, even if he decided to confront them alone.

They should have killed him when they still had the opportunity, because the situation was now completely different.

This time, the battle would be a one-sided massacre.

Leon opened his [World Map] and quickly selected the Requiem Stronghold.

Then he gathered the girls around him and activated the teleportation function.

A moment later, the scenery around them distorted, and the four of them disappeared.

When they reappeared, they were standing a short distance away from the Requiem Stronghold, with its enormous walls clearly visible in the distance.

The fortress looked much as Leon remembered it, although the damage caused by Emilia’s [Divine Wrath] had not yet been completely repaired.

Since only half a day had passed since that attack, the Requiem Guild had been forced to work quickly if they wanted to restore their defenses.

The damage was already mostly repaired, and numerous soldiers had returned to their positions along the walls.

Workers were still moving around the damaged sections, while the soldiers watched the surrounding area carefully.

And more interestingly...

"There’s a guild member on top of the wall," Violet said, pointing toward a figure standing among the soldiers. "The one with the mechanical limbs."

Leon followed her finger and recognized the person she was talking about.

"Oh yeah, I don’t even know most of their names," Leon replied with a shrug, a wide smile spreading across his face. "What of it? Just kill them."

Emilia immediately raised her scepter, gathering her magical energy as she prepared to attack the fortress, "Do I?"

"H-Hold on!" Violet quickly interrupted her, grabbing her attention before she could release her spell. "If we attack now, it’ll alert everyone inside. Wouldn’t it be better to teleport directly into the stronghold instead?"

"We’re trespassing," Leon reminded her calmly. "The moment we teleport inside, the system will detect us anyway, so it won’t make much difference."

"Oh..." Violet realized her mistake, "My bad."

As an inhabitant of [Ember], Violet was extremely proficient in matters related to warfare.

She understood the importance of surprise attacks, positioning, and minimizing unnecessary losses, and under normal circumstances, she would never recommend charging directly into a fortified stronghold.

Unfortunately, the circumstances surrounding their current situation were anything but normal.

The four of them were about to wage war against the entire Requiem Stronghold, an act that most players would consider absolute insanity.

Even with their considerable strength, attacking an entire guild within its own stronghold was an incredibly dangerous decision, particularly when the enemy possessed powerful members.

In fact, Emilia, Celeste, and Violet all understood how unreasonable their plan was.

Yet when they looked at Leon, none of them tried to convince him to turn back.

The hatred in his eyes made his intentions clear, and they understood that this was something he had already decided to do.

"They’re allied to one of the gods. I don’t know which one, but they definitely have some kind of connection," Leon explained, keeping his eyes fixed on the stronghold. "More importantly, they threatened to kill you guys."

His smile faded slightly as he remembered what the Requiem Guild had done.

They had not only made themselves his enemies, but they had also threatened the people he cared about, believing that he would eventually be forced to submit to their demands.

Unfortunately for them, they had made a terrible mistake.

For threatening his companions, Leon had no intention of letting them escape unpunished.

Death was the only thing they deserved.

"Let’s get started."

Emilia immediately began channeling her power into her scepter, preparing [Divine Wrath], while Leon gathered the energy required for [Void Detonation].

Leon watched as the energy around Emilia continued to intensify, while the void sphere at th tip of his staff grew larger and more unstable.

Both attacks carried enough power to devastate enormous sections of the walls, and neither of them intended to hold back.

Once they were ready, Leon raised his sword and looked toward the walls.

"NOW!"

Fwoosh!

Emilia released her [Divine Wrath], unleashing the strongest form of the spell she had used several hours earlier.

A massive golden beam descended from the heavens, illuminating the surrounding area as it crashed toward the Requiem Stronghold with overwhelming force.

"NOT AGAIN!"

"O-Oh shit!"

The soldiers stationed along the walls barely had time to react before the attack reached them.

BOOM!

The explosion shook the entire area, and the enormous section of the wall struck by the beam disintegrated beneath its power.

Stones, metal fragments, and shattered defensive structures scattered in every direction as the attack tore through the soldiers and machinery positioned along the battlements.

At almost the same moment, Leon swung his arm upward and launched the void sphere into the air.

He then struck it with his sword as though he were hitting a baseball, sending it hurtling toward another section of the stronghold’s walls.

The sphere traveled rapidly through the air before colliding with its target.

BOOOOOOM!

A second explosion erupted across the fortress, tearing through the walls and leaving another enormous gap in its defenses as everything within the sphere’s range was sent to the void.

The surrounding structures collapsed under the destructive force, while the soldiers caught within the blast were killed before they could escape.

In the span of a few seconds, two massive sections of the Requiem Stronghold’s walls had been destroyed.

Hundreds of soldiers perished in the attacks, and the Requiem Guild member Violet had pointed out was killed instantly by Emilia’s [Divine Wrath].

His mechanical limbs offered no protection against an attack of that magnitude, and his body disappeared beneath the golden light before he could do anything to defend himself.

"If I remember correctly, each of them has a Resurrection Stone," Violet remarked as she prepared to join the attack. "That means he’ll probably respawn."

"They already know we’re coming soon anyway," Leon replied with a shrug. "Just let them come."

Leon and his group were ready to massacre their way through the stronghold.
