Chapter 310: Finding The Magicless Temple
Leon leaned back slightly against a cold stone wall before opening his [World Map].
Fwoosh!
A massive panel expanded before him almost instantly, displaying the complete map of [Higher Domain #3].
And as Leon expected… The map had changed.
Previously, the only visible location had been the inside of the [Awakener Kingdom]. But now, after being exiled, the outside regions had also become visible.
Leon’s eyes narrowed slightly as he observed the darkened territory surrounding the kingdom. The [Exiled Lands] covered a massive portion of the domain, in fact, the grand majority.
The [Awakener Kingdom] was but a small dot in the giant expanse.
And unlike the bright and structured kingdom itself, the outside looked chaotic and dangerous, almost as if the world itself had decayed.
Still… A grin slowly appeared on Leon’s face.
’I can teleport back inside the kingdom whenever I want,’ he thought calmly. ’And if things become too dangerous later on, I can also teleport back here with Emilia to hide for a while.’
That alone made things much easier. Most players who got exiled from the [Awakener Kingdom] were essentially doomed forever.
They couldn’t climb the walls. They couldn’t force their way back in. And even if they somehow managed to fly upward, the guards stationed above would kill them immediately.
But Leon wasn’t like them. The [World Map] completely bypassed those restrictions.
As long as he had enough energy and knew the location, he could teleport between places freely. That alone made him absurdly difficult to trap.
Leon continued staring at the map thoughtfully. If the skeletons ended up taking too long to find the temple, then he could eventually explore manually and teleport whenever he encountered dead ends.
It wouldn’t be that efficient, yes, but it was still an option. For now though, sending the skeletons separately remained the most efficient method.
After thinking for a few more moments, Leon closed the [World Map] and instead opened his [Friends List].
Immediately, several familiar IDs appeared before him.
[Saintess (Higher Domain #3)], [UndyingPhoenix💀] and [RainbowDragon (Higher Domain #1)].
And below them… [DestinyArcher], [DivineWind], [ShadowAaron] and [AliceSupports]
Leon quietly observed the list. Eleonore, David, Aaron, and Alice were all still located within their respective lower domains. None of them had reached the [Higher Domains] yet.
’Makes sense,’ Leon thought while leaning back slightly. ’Normal players usually need a long time before reaching this stage.’
Compared to most people, Leon’s growth speed was completely abnormal. Even among prodigies, his progress was monstrous.
And that wasn’t even accounting for the fact he constantly challenged impossible situations that normal players would avoid at all costs.
Leon would honestly love to reunite with the others at some point.
Especially David and Eleonore. He trusted their potential more than almost anybody else.
Still, meeting them right now would require using one of the [World Map]’s teleportations, and Leon wasn’t sure it was worth spending one yet.
As long as they survived and continued growing stronger, then that was enough for him.
Leon slowly closed the panel afterward. He wanted companions. True companions.
People he could trust during the chaos awaiting him in the future.
But at the same time… Leon also understood the reality of what was coming.
The gods. The [Eternal Domain]. The celestials. Those were things far beyond ordinary players.
Even talented people like David or Eleonore might eventually struggle to keep up.
And honestly, Leon didn’t necessarily want them to. If they became strong enough to protect themselves and survive in this world, then that alone would already be enough for him.
Because fighting gods was a completely different matter altogether.
A few hours passed quietly after that. Leon mostly remained seated near the mountain edge while casually playing with Celeste’s phoenix flame in his hand.
The small flame floated gently above his palm, radiating a soothing warmth that strangely contrasted with the cold and dead atmosphere surrounding the [Exiled Mountains].
Sometimes Leon spun the flame around lazily between his fingers. Other times he simply stared at it silently.
And during all that time… Notifications continuously appeared before him.
Ding!
[One of your skeletons has been destroyed.]
Ding!
[One of your skeletons has been destroyed.]
Ding!
[One of your…]
Leon wasn’t surprised. Obviously, the [Exiled Mountains] weren’t empty. If anything, this place was probably far more dangerous than the plains below.
The monsters here likely ranged from level 86 all the way to level 90. Against beings like that, even Leon’s skeletons would eventually lose.
After all, while his summons possessed monstrous combat power, they still lacked true combat intelligence and proper skills.
A level 90 monster would annihilate them easily. Leon crossed his arms while thinking about it carefully.
Even he wasn’t completely confident against enemies that high level. The gap between level 77 and level 90 was enormous.
In his past life, Leon almost never fought opponents with such a massive level difference.
The only being he truly remembered facing while massively underleveled was… The [God of Eternity]. And that battle had ended with Leon dying miserably.
“Hah…”
Leon shook his head slightly. No point dwelling on the past. Eventually, after several more minutes of silence, Leon finally stood up slowly.
“If they still haven’t found anything soon,” he muttered, “I’ll start searching myself.”
But right as he was about to move—
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Leon immediately turned his head after hearing the sound of bones rattling against stone.
One of his undead skeletons was rapidly climbing back through the mountain paths toward him.
Leon’s eyes sharpened instantly.
“Did you find something?” he asked calmly.
The skeleton nodded immediately. Then it raised its arm and pointed toward one specific mountain path in the distance.
This skeleton had memorized the route properly. Leon grinned.
“Good,” he said while standing fully. “Take me there.”
Fwoosh!
Leon immediately unsummoned every skeleton except for the two beside him since he couldn’t actually send them orders from afar to ask them to come back.
Then, following the returning undead, Leon began traversing the mountain maze.
Surprisingly… The path was almost completely safe.
The skeleton had somehow managed to guide him through routes with barely any monsters present, allowing Leon to move through the mountains rapidly without interruption.
Twenty minutes passed like that. The scenery around him continuously shifted as they crossed narrow cliffs, stone bridges, dark caves, and steep mountain paths until eventually…
The skeleton finally stopped. Leon slowly raised his gaze. And what he saw immediately made his eyes narrow.
