Chapter 220: Leon’s Rest, Forgotten Dream?

Chapter 220: Chapter 220: Leon’s Rest, Forgotten Dream?

Even with just those two sales, Leon had already secured a massive amount of [Eternal Coins], bringing him significantly closer to his goal of purchasing all the items he wanted from the B-Rank market.

And once everything else sold, which at this rate wouldn’t take long at all, he would not only be able to buy everything he had planned for but also have a large surplus left over, giving him even more flexibility moving forward.

’If getting [Eternal Coins] was this easy in my past life… I would have lived in luxury,’ Leon thought with a quiet sigh, though there was no regret in his expression, only a calm acceptance.

Turning back toward Celeste and Emilia, Leon stretched slightly before speaking.

“Let’s just move,” he said with a relaxed smile, “by tomorrow morning, everything should be sold, so until then, we can take our break.”

“I wanna eat the crab meat,” Celeste immediately replied, her eyes sparkling with excitement as if she had been waiting for the opportunity to say that.

“But we just ate it…” Emilia said with a soft chuckle, shaking her head lightly at Celeste’s enthusiasm.

“I want to see if I can get stronger again,” Celeste insisted, her tone more serious despite her expression, “and… I’m still kind of hungry.”

“Kyu~”

“And Pyra too,” Celeste added as the small phoenix chirped in agreement, clearly just as eager.

Leon couldn’t help but smile at that, finding their reaction somewhat amusing, but also understanding that if there was even a chance for further growth, it was worth testing.

And so, after finishing everything they needed to do, the three of them spent the rest of the day freely, exploring a bit more, relaxing, and simply enjoying a rare moment of calm without any immediate threats or pressure weighing on them.

Eventually, as the day came to an end, they returned to the hotel once again.

“…Oh,” the receptionist said nervously upon seeing them, clearly still remembering what had happened earlier, “you can… have another room.”

“Thanks,” Leon replied calmly as he handed over 6,000 Eternal Coins without hesitation.

They made their way to the new room, which looked almost identical to the previous one, clean, spacious, and quiet, offering the same level of comfort that had allowed them to rest properly before.

Once inside, they sat down on the bed, the atmosphere calm as Leon finally spoke again.

“Tomorrow, we’ll get our final levels to reach level 75,” he said, his tone steady and focused, “And after that… we enter the [Expert Divine Temple].”

Hearing that, both Emilia and Celeste nodded, their expressions showing a mix of excitement and tension, because while they were looking forward to what was ahead, they also knew that it wouldn’t be easy.

“You can rest now—”

“No.”

Emilia suddenly cut him off, her voice firm as she stepped forward, her gaze locked onto Leon with clear determination.

“It’s your turn to rest now.”

Leon looked at her for a moment, noticing the seriousness in her eyes, and after a brief pause, he let out a small sigh before smiling.

“Alright,” he said, giving in without much resistance, “I’ll rest a little… even though I don’t really need it.”

“We’ll be fine,” Celeste added with a confident nod, “we’ll protect you if anything happens.”

Leon let out a quiet chuckle at that, but still gave a small warning, “Wake me up if something happens.”

With that, Leon finally lay down and closed his eyes, expecting that, as usual, he wouldn’t actually fall asleep since his body didn’t truly feel tired.

But surprisingly…

It didn’t even take a full minute before his consciousness faded, his body relaxing completely as he drifted into sleep.

[Wake up, Celestial, don’t disappoint me like the rest of them.]

The voice echoed in Leon’s mind in a low and distant tone, yet it felt incredibly close at the same time.

Almost as if it was whispered right next to his ear, and the moment those words settled in his head, a sharp and overwhelming pain spread through it as if something was forcefully trying to awaken him from within.

Leon felt like he was dreaming about something important, something he absolutely needed to remember.

Yet no matter how hard he tried to focus or hold onto even the smallest fragment of it, everything kept slipping away from his grasp as if it was being erased before he could even process it.

And then, before he could make sense of anything, his eyes snapped open.

“The hell?!” Leon immediately got up in one swift motion, his body reacting on pure instinct as his hand moved straight to his sword, gripping it tightly while his gaze darted around his surroundings with clear confusion and alertness, “What the…”

“Are you okay?” Emilia didn’t hesitate for even a second as she rushed to his side, her voice filled with concern while she checked him quickly to make sure nothing had happened to him.

“…I’m good,” Leon said after a short pause, nodding slightly as he tried to gather his thoughts, “I had a dream, I think, it was…”

But he stopped mid-sentence.

Because at that exact moment, something clicked in his mind.

“…Oh.”

The realization came quietly, but it hit him instantly.

Those words. The ones he had heard right before waking up.

He had heard them before. There was no doubt about it.

It wasn’t something new, and it definitely wasn’t random.

His expression shifted slightly as his thoughts went back to that moment.

Back in [Lower Domain #78]. Right after he had destroyed the [Shadow Assassin Guild]’s stronghold.

That was when it first happened.1

He had fallen asleep, just like now, and ended up in that strange dark place where he had met the [Heavenly One].

He remembered standing before the [Ascension Altar], feeling its presence, feeling the weight behind it, and hearing the words that told him he wasn’t worthy yet.

He remembered the first time this happened.

This time though, Leon frowned slightly as he tried to recall what had just happened in his new dream, but no matter how much he focused, there was nothing to grasp onto.

As if the entire dream had been wiped out of his memory the moment he woke up.

’I definitely spoke to him again…’ Leon thought, narrowing his eyes slightly as he tried one last time to recall anything at all, ’But I can’t remember a single thing.’

Only those words remained.

[Wake up, Celestial, don’t disappoint me like the rest of them.]
