Chapter 218: Celeste and Pyra’s Transformation, Volcano Crab King Death (Again)
Chapter 218: Chapter 218: Celeste and Pyra’s Transformation, Volcano Crab King Death (Again)
“What was that?!” Emilia rushed forward immediately, panic clear in her voice as she approached the two of them without hesitation, her eyes scanning their bodies rapidly to make sure nothing was wrong.
Leon didn’t stop her, though he stayed alert, watching closely in case something unexpected happened again.
But after a few seconds passed… Celeste lifted her head. And smiled.
“We got stronger… much stronger,” she said, her voice filled with a mix of surprise and excitement as she looked at them, “A panel just told me that because of our high flame affinity, we received a huge boost.”
Hearing that, Leon slowly nodded, his expression thoughtful as he processed the information.
The [Volcano Crab King] and all of its kin were creatures deeply tied to flame, their entire existence revolving around fire and heat, so it was only natural that their essence, even in the form of food, would carry those properties.
And Celeste… As someone from the phoenix race, her affinity with flames was already incredibly high. The same applied to Pyra.
’I guess the effects depend on the individual,’ Leon thought calmly, his gaze briefly shifting toward Emilia before returning to Celeste.
Neither he nor Emilia had any particular elemental affinity like that, so it made sense that their gains had been more general, while Celeste and Pyra received something far more specialized.
“Pyra leveled up to level 9,” Celeste added, her tone still slightly amazed, “I didn’t even know pets could level up from eating something like that.”
Leon’s eyes widened slightly at that, “I… didn’t know that either,” he admitted honestly.
That alone was a massive discovery.
For Pyra to gain levels just from consuming that meat meant that high-quality food could be an alternative method of growth for pets, something that could potentially be exploited in the future if they found similar resources.
And more importantly… Level 9. That meant Pyra was now only one level away from level 10.
Only one step away from her first evolution.
Leon could already imagine how much stronger she would become once that happened, and based on everything he had seen so far, the increase wouldn’t be small. It would be explosive.
“As for me…” Celeste continued, her smile widening slightly, “My [Spirit] got multiplied by 2, and it says my flames are way more potent now.”
Leon reacted instantly.
“Anything about an [Ember]?” he asked quickly, clearly hoping for something more.
But Celeste shook her head.
“No… nothing about that,” she replied, “Looks like [Embers] are something we’ll have to find ourselves.”
“Damn…” Leon muttered under his breath, slightly disappointed.
Still, even without that, the boost Celeste had just received was massive.
With her [Spirit] doubled, her overall [Combat Power] had jumped to around 520,000, bringing her much closer to Leon and Emilia, even if she hadn’t fully caught up yet.
And since her flames had grown stronger as well, every single one of her abilities would now deal significantly more damage, making her far more dangerous in battle.
All things considered… This had turned out to be far more valuable than any of them had expected.
“I wonder if eating more will do anything,” Celeste said, her eyes sparkling again with curiosity.
“Probably not,” Leon replied calmly, though he didn’t dismiss the idea entirely, “But… we can test it.”
Without wasting any more time, the three of them began moving again, heading straight toward the volcano at the center of the island, crossing the rivers of lava that separated them from their destination.
Just like before, Leon didn’t hesitate to dive straight into the molten flow, his body moving through it with practiced ease, while Celeste activated her [Phoenix Wings] and carried Emilia across the surface, avoiding the damage entirely.
“Thanks,” Emilia sighed in relief as they landed on the other side, “I really didn’t want to lose another robe.”
“You’ll get a better one soon anyway,” Leon replied as he climbed out of the lava, barely affected.
From there, they entered the narrow entrance leading into the volcano, walking through the familiar tunnels until—
Ding!
[You have entered the “Hellish Volcano”]
“Here we go again,” Leon said with a small sigh, though this time, there was no tension in his voice.
Because this time… They were ready.
And sure enough, just like before, the ground beneath them trembled as the [Volcano Crab King] began to emerge from below, its massive body forcing its way upward in an attempt to ambush them.
But unlike last time… There was no surprise.
The moment it appeared—
Star Comet!
Emilia reacted instantly, her scepter glowing as she summoned the massive comet above them, sending it crashing down directly onto the boss as it was still in the process of emerging.
BOOM!
The impact was immediate. And before the creature could even recover—
SLASH!
Leon and Celeste moved at the same time, their blades cutting through its already damaged body with perfect precision, splitting it apart in a single coordinated strike.
This time, everything was clean and efficient.
They even allowed Celeste to contribute more actively to ensure she gained the experience she needed.
And in the end… The [Volcano Crab King] didn’t last more than five seconds. It didn’t even get the chance to summon its kin.
Ding!
[You have killed “Volcano Crab King (Realm Boss)” and gained 150,000 experience points.]
[100% Drop Rate has triggered…]
The familiar rewards appeared once again, identical to what Leon had obtained the first time.
[Volcano Crab King Essence: Consuming will increase Constitution by 100 and Spirit by 70.]
[Sub-Talent Scrolls: Mega Strength Enhancement (A-Level), Absolute Flame Control (A-Level)]
[Raw Volcano Crab Meat x5 (Legendary)]
But as Leon looked through the items, his expression shifted slightly.
“Huh…” he muttered, his brows narrowing, “Something’s wrong.”
Everything was there.
Everything… except one thing: the [Volcano Crab King Crystal].
It hadn’t dropped this time. Which didn’t make sense at first glance.
Because Leon’s talent guaranteed that he would receive all possible drops from a monster.
So if it didn’t appear… Then it meant only one thing.
’It’s not part of the loot table anymore,’ Leon realized instantly.
Some items were limited. Either they could only drop once, or they had some kind of hidden condition attached to them.
The crystal was likely one of those.
Maybe it was only tied to the quest. Or perhaps it had a cooldown to being available.
Either way… Leon didn’t care much.
That item was only useful for the [Awakener Association], and he had no interest in helping them further.
Especially not with the [Awakener Lord] watching them now.
Without wasting time, he handed the essence to Emilia, stored the sub-talents for later sale, and kept the crab meat.
“I got more crab meat,” Leon said with a small smile.
Celeste’s face lit up instantly.
“You can eat it later.”
“Yay~”
With that, the three of them left the [Hellish Beach] once again, having completed everything they needed.
Leon had no reason to return except to level up, and he could just use another [Realm].
As soon as they stepped out, he opened his [World Map] and teleported them away without hesitation, avoiding any unnecessary attention.
Then, the moment they appeared in a safe area, Leon opened the [Trading House].
A wide smile slowly spread across his face.
“Time to sell everything,” he said calmly, his eyes gleaming slightly, “We’re about to be rich.”
