Chapter 201: Chapter 201: The Volcano Crab King [3]
Fwoosh!
From the rivers of lava surrounding the platform, multiple shapes began to rise slowly, distorting the molten surface as if something massive was pushing upward from below.
At first, they were nothing more than silhouettes shifting beneath the glowing liquid, their outlines blurred by the intense heat and constant movement of the magma, but then, one by one, they broke through the surface: crabs.
They were smaller than the king, but that didn’t mean much, because even these “smaller” versions were still enormous by any normal standard.
Each one was easily reaching around two meters in size, their bodies covered in thick crimson shells that looked almost identical to their ruler’s, with glowing cracks of lava running across their exoskeleton like veins.

“Hm…” Leon exhaled slowly as he observed them carefully, his eyes narrowing slightly while he counted their numbers without rushing.
There were around ten of them, spreading out methodically across the platform instead of charging in recklessly, positioning themselves in a way that cut off angles and escape routes.
Forming a loose circle that placed Leon, Celeste, and the boss at different points within their range.
Their claws clicked rhythmically against the ground as they moved, the sound sharp and constant, echoing through the chamber along with the bubbling of lava below.
This wasn’t going to be simple anymore.
Leon shifted his gaze toward Celeste, his expression calm but focused, already thinking several steps ahead as he adjusted his stance slightly.
“Can you handle them?” he asked without wasting time, his voice steady as he prepared to move, “I need to get Emilia out first.”
Celeste hesitated for the briefest moment, her eyes flicking toward the group of crab kin as she measured their size and presence, her grip tightening slightly around her spear as the pressure of the situation settled in.
But that hesitation didn’t last long. She took a small breath, steadied herself, and nodded firmly.
“A-Alright!” she answered, forcing confidence into her voice as she turned fully toward the incoming enemies.
Flames surged along her spear, growing brighter and more intense as she channeled her mana, the heat around her rising noticeably.
At the same time—
Fwoosh!
A burst of fire erupted near her chest, and Pyra emerged once again, the small phoenix letting out a sharp, high-pitched cry as it hovered beside her, its wings spreading wide as embers drifted into the air around it.
The two of them stood side by side, perfectly aligned in both stance and intent.
Meanwhile, Leon stepped forward without hesitation, his entire focus shifting toward the [Volcano Crab King], ignoring the smaller enemies for now as he locked onto the real problem.
The massive creature finally adjusted itself, its legs shifting heavily against the stone platform as it turned to face him properly, its enormous body looming over the battlefield.
Even now, it refused to release Emilia, keeping her tightly trapped within one of its massive pincers, the grip firm and unrelenting.
Its eyes moved slightly, then locked onto Leon.
And then—
Volcanic Meteor!
The entire chamber reacted instantly.
Chunks of rock began to tear themselves free from the surrounding walls and ceiling, cracking loose with violent force before rising into the air as if pulled by some unseen power, gathering together rapidly above the crab king.
The fragments collided and fused, forming a massive sphere that grew larger and denser with every passing second, its surface cracking open almost immediately as molten lava filled the gaps between the rocks.
Heat radiated from it in waves, distorting the air around it.
“Wow…” Leon muttered under his breath, his eyes tracking every movement of the formation with sharp focus, analyzing it in real time, “That thing isn’t messing around.”
The sheer scale of the attack was absurd, far beyond anything a normal player at this level should be able to deal with casually, and yet Leon didn’t panic.
If anything, his expression sharpened slightly.
And then—
Fwoosh!
The [Volcano Crab King] launched the meteor forward.
The massive sphere tore through the air with terrifying speed, leaving behind a trail of heat that scorched everything it passed, heading straight for Leon’s position without hesitation.
But instead of retreating or trying to dodge immediately, Leon smiled faintly.
He spun his staff once in his hand, gathering mana smoothly and without interruption, his control precise as always.
Powerful Fireball!
A blazing sphere formed at the tip of his weapon, rapidly growing in size and density as he poured more energy into it, compressing its power rather than spreading it out.
Then, with perfect timing, he launched it forward. The two attacks rushed toward each other.
One massive and overwhelming, fueled by raw destructive force.
The other smaller, but far more concentrated and controlled.
Leon’s grin widened slightly as he watched them collide.
“Let’s see which one has higher [Spirit],” he said calmly.
BOOM!
The explosion that followed shook the entire chamber violently, a deafening blast echoing through the space as flames and shockwaves expanded outward in all directions.
The force of the impact was so strong that both Leon and Celeste had to shield their faces briefly, the heat alone enough to make the air feel suffocating.
Even the crab kin paused momentarily, their movements disrupted by the sheer intensity of the collision.
“What the hell was that?” Celeste shouted, clearly startled even as she kept her focus on the enemies in front of her, her stance tightening, “I-Is Emilia free yet?”
“Huh…” Leon lowered his arm and looked forward again, his eyes scanning through the fading flames and smoke, quickly locking onto the boss once more.
The [Volcano Crab King] was still there. And more importantly, it was still holding Emilia.
“Not quite yet,” he replied calmly.
“Damn it!” Celeste gritted her teeth, clearly frustrated but unable to abandon her own fight.
“Alright,” Leon’s eyes turned cold as he took another step forward, his entire presence shifting as he made his decision, “I’m engaging it directly.”
If his spells weren’t effective against its outer shell, then there was only one option left.
