Chapter 195: The Hellish Horde’s Loot [1]
Chapter 195: Chapter 195: The Hellish Horde’s Loot [1]
After gathering every single item that had dropped from the battlefield, Leon finally allowed himself a moment to slow down and carefully examine everything laid out in front of him.
His eyes scanned through the long list of rewards with a calm but clearly satisfied expression.
[Pyroman Ape Essence x40: Consuming will increase Agility by 8 and Spirit by 10.]
[Fire Hobgoblin Essence x49: Consuming will increase Strength by 15.]
[Hellish Hobgoblin Essence: Consuming will increase Strength by 100, Agility by 50.]
[Sub-Talent Scrolls: x89 Flame Affinity (C-Level), Deep Flame Affinity (B-Level), Super Strength Enhancement (B-Level)]
[Pyroman Ape Fur x40 (Rare)]
[Hell Bat (Legendary): +10,000 Attack Power, +5,000 Strength, +3,000 Agility. Constantly emits out fire that will scorch an opponent hit. Requirement: Deep Flame Affinity (B-Level)]
[Skill Book: Hellish Swing (Legendary)]
Leon let out a slow breath as he finished reading through everything, slightly tilting his head while processing the sheer quantity and quality of the loot he had just obtained.
Because even for someone like him, who was already used to gaining absurd rewards thanks to his abilities, this was still far beyond what could normally be expected from a single battle.
“Damn…” Leon muttered under his breath.
Right next to him, Celeste was staring at the pile of items with wide eyes, her expression showing pure disbelief as she tried to wrap her head around what she was seeing.
“What the hell…” she said slowly, her voice filled with shock, “Even if I somehow managed to kill all of those monsters by myself, I would’ve maybe gotten a few essences at best… and that’s it.”
She wasn’t exaggerating in the slightest.
Because for a normal player, the drop rates in a place like this were extremely unforgiving, especially when it came to anything beyond basic materials or low-tier rewards.
And the idea of obtaining dozens of sub-talent scrolls, let alone legendary equipment, from a single encounter was something most players wouldn’t even dream of.
And yet, all of it was sitting right there in front of Leon.
Naturally, he couldn’t help but smile slightly as he looked at everything.
But before he could even begin sorting through it properly, something else happened.
Ding!
[“Celestial Hand” has activated.]
Leon blinked once, then nodded as he immediately understood what was happening.
“Oh, right,” he said casually, a small grin forming on his face, “I guess that’s gonna be a bonus.”
The passive ability activated multiple times in quick succession, each trigger giving him the opportunity to extract something additional from the defeated enemies, and without hesitation, Leon chose the most valuable option every single time: sub-talent scrolls.
By the time the effect finished activating, the numbers had increased noticeably.
[Sub-Talent Scrolls: x102 Flame Affinity (C-Level), x2 Deep Flame Affinity (B-Level), Super Strength Enhancement (B-Level)]
Leon stared at the updated count for a moment, his eyes narrowing slightly as he realized just how absurd this was.
Having over a hundred sub-talent scrolls at once wasn’t just rare, it was practically unheard of for an individual player.
Even large guilds or organized groups would struggle to gather that many without spending massive amounts of resources.
And from a financial perspective alone, this haul was ridiculous.
Each [Flame Affinity (C-Level)] scroll could easily sell for around 20,000 [Eternal Coins], while the [Deep Flame Affinity (B-Level)] scrolls could go as high as 50,000 or even more depending on demand.
Which meant that if Leon decided to sell everything right now, he could instantly make a fortune.
The players in the [Auction House] would rush to buy these the moment they appeared, especially those who specialized in spells, since even a single sub-talent could significantly boost their power.
But despite understanding all of that… Leon didn’t seem particularly interested in the money.
To him, [Eternal Coins] were useful, yes, especially in a place like [Higher Domain #3], but at the same time, it wasn’t something he felt pressured about.
He knew he could always farm more. He could always sell more items. There was no real urgency.
Instead, his attention slowly shifted toward Celeste, who was now sitting on the ground nearby, gently holding Pyra in her arms after summoning her from the [Pet Space], her expression soft as she carefully patted the small phoenix.
Leon watched that scene for a few seconds in silence.
And then… he made up his mind.
Helping his companions grow stronger mattered far more than stacking currency.
Pyra was already level 6, which meant she was only four levels away from reaching level 10 and triggering her first evolution, something Leon knew would drastically increase her power and unlock new abilities that could change the flow of future battles.
He knew that Pyra would be a genuine powerhouse in the future.
As for Celeste herself, she had already reached level 69 after fighting her own battles earlier, even though she didn’t receive the experience points from the boss due to the system’s contribution rules.
Still, she was progressing steadily.
And as for Leon…
Ding!
[Congratulations, you have leveled up to Level 67 + Level 68 + Level 69 + … + Level 72!]
[Due to “Heaven’s Blessing”, you have gained 2,700 points in all attributes and 2,700 free points to distribute.]
Leon let out a quiet breath as he saw the notifications stack one after another, the numbers climbing rapidly before finally stopping.
“Damn…” he muttered, shaking his head slightly.
[Level: 72 (410,000/760,000)]
Under normal circumstances, after defeating that many high-level enemies at once, especially ones stronger than himself, he would have likely reached level 75.
But the [Will of Nature]’s curse was still affecting his experience gain, forcing him to require significantly more points to level up.
Still… Leon didn’t seem bothered. If anything, he looked slightly amused.
“I wish the [Will of Nature] could curse me again,” he said with a faint smile.
He thought about that idea for a few seconds, but eventually, he decided to move on.
There was no need to overcomplicate things right now. He still had a quest to complete.
And after that… There were bigger challenges waiting for him.
Beep!
[You have 10,700 Free Points to Allocate!]
“I know,” Leon said casually as he dismissed the notification without even looking at it in detail, clearly not in a hurry to distribute those points.
Instead, he turned his full attention back to the items in front of him.
More specifically… The sub-talent scrolls.
With over a hundred of them available, Leon had more than enough attempts to push for higher-tier results through fusion, and without wasting any more time, he immediately got to work.
Fwoosh! Beep!
[Fusion failed.]
Leon didn’t react.
Ding!
[Fusion successful.]
“Nice,” he said simply, his tone calm.
From the side, Celeste watched him carefully, quickly realizing what he was doing as she saw scroll after scroll disappear and new ones appear in their place.
Beep! Ding! Beep! Ding!
The process continued at a steady pace, Leon maintaining full focus as he fused the sub-talents repeatedly, aiming for higher and higher levels without showing any sign of hesitation.
Failures didn’t bother him. Successes didn’t excite him too much either. He just kept going.
And eventually… After using a significant portion of the scrolls…
Leon finally stopped. He let out a small breath, then looked at the results.
“Phew… I guess it worked out.”
[Sub-Talent Scrolls: x2 Ultimate Flame Control (S-Level), Absolute Flame Control (A-Level), Super Strength Enhancement (B-Level)]
For a brief moment, even Leon remained silent.
Because even with his expectations… This was a ridiculous outcome.
He had managed to obtain not just one, but two S-Level sub-talents.
