Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Celeste and Emilia’s Meeting, Introduction to Higher Domain #3 [1]
Hearing that, Celeste froze for a brief moment before quickly adjusting her posture, fixing her hair and trying to look as presentable as possible.
She clearly remembered Emilia from before.
More importantly… she knew that Emilia was important to Leon.
And if they were going to travel together from now on, then she wanted to make a good impression.
Leon noticed her reaction and couldn’t help but smirk slightly.
“Don’t stress too much,” he said, “Emilia won’t judge… I think.”
The small pause at the end didn’t help much, but Celeste still nodded, trying to calm herself down.
And so… they waited.
The square remained lively, filled with players moving around, talking, or preparing to explore the kingdom.
But for Leon and Celeste, time seemed to slow down slightly as they stood there, waiting for Emilia to arrive.
Then, after around ten minutes—
“Leon!” A familiar voice called out from one of the streets leading into the square.
Both Leon and Celeste turned toward the sound.
And then—
Fwoosh!
A figure rushed toward them at high speed before jumping straight into Leon’s arms.
“Hehe, good thing we can meet again!” Emilia said with a bright smile, clearly happy.
Leon caught her without issue, nodding slightly.
“Yeah, makes things easier.”
Without the [World Map], finding each other in a place like this would have taken much longer.
After a brief moment, Emilia pulled back, still smiling, before her gaze shifted toward Celeste.
“Oh?” her expression lit up even more, “You’re the girl from before!”
“M-My name is Celeste,” Celeste said quickly, bowing slightly, “I’ve been traveling with Leon for a short time!”
Emilia glanced at Leon with a playful smile.
“Heh, I guess it didn’t take you long to replace me.”
Leon shrugged casually.
“Oh well,” Emilia laughed, clearly not bothered at all, “I don’t mind as long as she’s strong.”
“She is,” Leon confirmed without hesitation.
Celeste relaxed slightly after hearing that, realizing that Emilia didn’t seem to have any negative reaction.
In fact… she seemed pretty easygoing.
“Good,” Emilia nodded, then clapped her hands lightly, “Then let’s get to the important part.”
She stepped slightly in front of them, her expression turning a bit more serious, though the smile never fully disappeared.
“I’ll explain how this domain works,” she said.
Leon nodded immediately, his focus sharpening. Celeste did the same, her curiosity growing.
“So basically, this [Higher Domain] is entirely inside of this [Awakener Kingdom],” Emilia began as she walked slightly ahead of Leon and Celeste, her voice calm but filled with excitement, “There is a world outside, but the natives here all say that beyond the borders of the kingdom, there is nothing but level 100 monsters that can tear anything apart without even trying.”
Leon listened carefully, his eyes scanning the surroundings while processing her words.
Even though he had already expected something unusual, this still felt completely different from anything he had experienced before.
“Is there a way to go outside?” Leon asked without hesitation, his curiosity immediately kicking in as he thought about possible opportunities that others might have overlooked, “Maybe there’s something out there worth the risk.”
The moment he asked that, Emilia shook her head almost instantly, her expression turning a little more serious.
“No idea,” she replied, “but from what I heard, anyone who tried to leave the kingdom was killed almost immediately, so even if there is something out there, nobody has managed to come back and talk about it.”
“Damn,” Leon muttered under his breath, though instead of feeling discouraged, his interest only grew stronger.
If something was that dangerous, then it also meant that it could be hiding something incredibly valuable.
But for now, he knew better than to rush into something like that without proper preparation.
“The [Awakener Kingdom] itself is divided into three main districts,” Emilia continued, “there’s the [Newbie District], which is for players between level 50 and 75, the [Advanced District] for players between level 75 and 90, and finally the [Awakener District], which is meant for players between level 90 and 100.”
She paused for a brief moment before adding, “And right now, we’re in the [Newbie District], which explains why everything looks a bit… rough.”
“This is so confusing!” Celeste suddenly groaned as she held her head, clearly overwhelmed by how different everything was compared to what she had seen before, “Why is this [Higher Domain] so different from ours?! I thought things would be somewhat similar, but this feels like a completely different world!”
Hearing that, Emilia couldn’t help but grin slightly, clearly amused by Celeste’s reaction.
“Don’t act too surprised,” she said with a light laugh, “because from what I’ve heard, the first ten [Higher Domains] are all unique, not just in terms of zones, but also in how they function entirely.”
Leon’s eyes narrowed slightly as he focused on that detail.
“By that you mean…?” he asked, wanting her to elaborate further.
“Exactly what I said,” Emilia replied as she turned around and walked backward for a few steps while facing them.
“This domain is a kingdom where everything happens inside, while I heard that [Higher Domain #2] is made up of multiple islands that players have to travel between by crossing a dangerous sea filled with monsters.”
These were the only details she had managed to gather so far, and even then, they already painted a very clear picture.
It was the first time Leon had heard anything about [Higher Domain #2], and even though it wasn’t immediately relevant, he made sure to remember it.
He didn’t know if he would ever go there, but if he did, he would definitely need to be prepared for something completely different once again.
“I’m guessing this kingdom is massive then,” Leon said as he looked around, observing the endless streets filled with players and natives moving around constantly.
“Yep~” Emilia nodded with a smile, “there are probably millions of players and natives here, and the deeper you go into the kingdom, the more advanced everything becomes.”
Leon could already imagine that the [Awakener District] would be the place where the strongest players gathered.
And naturally, it would also be where the greatest risks and rewards existed.
