Chapter 110: C-Level Intermediate Necromancy, Entering the Star Magic Cave

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: C-Level Intermediate Necromancy, Entering the Star Magic Cave

Leon and Emilia had managed to level up four entire times after defeating the [Undead Scourge].

“Phew,” Leon let out a satisfied breath, a grin spreading across his face. “That’s why I like special bosses. The experience is always insane.”

And more importantly… they always came with loot.

Leon didn’t hesitate for even a second. He immediately opened his [Storage Space], his eyes scanning the items that had dropped.

As expected, the [Undead Scourge Skeletons] hadn’t dropped anything. That made sense.

They were summons, not true independent monsters. The system didn’t reward players for killing what was essentially an extension of the boss.

But the [Undead Scourge] itself? That was a different story.

[Undead Scourge Essence: Consuming will slightly increase proficiency with the undead and increase Spirit by 50.]

[Undead Scepter (Legendary): +2,000 Magic Attack, +1,500 Spirit, +600 Agility. Requirement: 5,000 Spirit.]

[Undead Scourge Robe (Legendary): +2,500 Defense, +1,200 Constitution, +1,000 Spirit. Requirement: 6,000 Spirit.]

[x12 Enhancement Stones]

[x10 Skill Stones]

[Undead Scourge Head (Trophy): Proof that someone has defeated the “Undead Scourge” special boss.]

[Sub-Talent Scroll: Intermediate Necromancy (C-Level)]

Leon nodded slowly.

“For a special boss… that’s pretty damn good.”

It wasn’t absurdly broken, but it was solid. Very solid.

Without hesitation, he handed the [Undead Scepter] and the [Undead Scourge Robe] to Emilia.

“These are yours.”

Emilia blinked for a second but quickly accepted them.

The stats were perfectly suited for her. High Spirit, solid Constitution, and Magic Attack boosts.

Once equipped, her aura subtly shifted. Her already high magical presence grew heavier, sharper.

She was clearly stronger now.

Leon stored the enhancement stones and skill stones without much thought.

Then his gaze lingered briefly on the [Undead Scourge Head].

Just like the [Elemental Dragon Head], this was a trophy item.

Something that could be shown to the [Hunter] in the [Higher Domain] in the future.

He stored it carefully. Then finally, he consumed the [Undead Scourge Essence].

A faint cold energy flowed into his body. His Spirit rose again.

And more than that… there was a subtle shift in how his mana reacted when he thought about undead.

Then his eyes locked onto the most important item.

[Sub-Talent Scroll: Intermediate Necromancy (C-Level)].

Two full ranks above his current [Basic Necromancy (E-Level)].

That was huge. Before, his undead skeletons were honestly… weak.

They were distractions at best. But now? Things would be different.

Leon didn’t hesitate. He poured his mana into the scroll and tore it apart.

Fwoosh! Ding!

[Congratulations, you have upgraded your “Basic Necromancy (E-Level)” sub-talent to “Intermediate Necromancy (C-Level)”]

“Nice.”

He immediately opened the description.

[Intermediate Necromancy (C-Level): You are an intermediate necromancer, able to summon undead skeletons to aid you.]

[Skeleton Summon Limit: 10.]

[Each of the skeletons has 50% of your combat power (stats).]

[Current Undead Types: Undead Skeleton.]

Leon’s grin widened. His summon limit had jumped from three to ten.

And more importantly, the skeletons now had 50% of his stats instead of 25%.

That was a massive increase. Fifty percent of Leon’s stats was no joke.

Even half of his current Spirit alone was absurd.

Then his eyes focused on the new line: [Current Undead Types.]

That hadn’t been there before. Which meant…

’I can probably unlock more undead types later,’ Leon thought.

Basic skeletons were likely just the starting point. There were probably stronger variants.

Archers, knights, mages. Maybe even undead beasts. It made sense.

The system wouldn’t restrict necromancy to just one type forever. Still, for now, this was more than enough.

It wasn’t anywhere near the level of [UndeadLiege] from his past life, that woman had controlled armies numbering in the thousands.

But now? Leon could at least call himself somewhat of a proper necromancer.

With the special boss dealt with and their strength increased again, there was nothing left to do here.

This would be their final power boost before attempting the [Secret Realm].

“Let’s move,” Leon said calmly.

They rushed forward. The level 50 zone was eerily quiet now. No monsters, no players.

After the death of the special boss, the area felt almost empty.

Within ten minutes—

“Here it is.”

They stood before a massive cave entrance. The [Star Magic Cave].

Dark energy seeped from within. The air around it felt unstable, almost distorted.

As they stepped closer—

Ding!

[Which difficulty do you wish to choose?]

[Normal] [Hard] [Hell]

“As expected,” Leon muttered.

He already knew. The [Secret Realm] only appeared under the hardest difficulty.

Almost no one sane would even attempt [Hell].

Reaching it alone required absurd strength. Completing it even more so.

But Leon didn’t hesitate.

He selected [Hell].

Ding!

[Party of 2 detected: Celestial and Saintess.]

[May the will of the “Heavenly One” be with you.]

Leon’s expression turned slightly serious.

That phrase again. It always sounded ominous. Still, there was no turning back now.

Fwoosh!

Darkness swallowed them as they entered the cave.

For a brief moment, there was nothing but void. Then, they emerged inside.

The interior of the [Star Magic Cave] was dimly lit by faint glowing crystals embedded in the walls. The air felt dense with mana, strange, ancient mana.

“Be careful,” Leon said quietly. “Everything in here uses magic. And on [Hell] difficulty… they’ll hit hard.”

This was also the perfect moment to test his upgraded sub-talent.

Leon raised his staff and cast [Intermediate Necromancy].

Fwoosh!

The ground trembled. Ten skeletal figures rose from the earth in front of them.

They wore rusty armor and carried short swords. Green flames burned in their eye sockets.

[Basic Undead Skeleton]

[Master: Celestial]

[Constitution: 5,860]

[Strength: 5,435]

[Agility: 4,797]

[Spirit: 13,646]

[Combat Power: 59,476]

“Not bad,” Leon nodded.

Their Spirit was ridiculously high, because his own was. But since they wielded swords, that Spirit was mostly wasted.

’I really need undead mages later,’ he thought.

Still, as frontline units and shields against traps or ambushes, they were perfect.

And that assumption was proven immediately. Because as they stepped down a narrow corridor—

BAM!

Spikes erupted violently from the ground.

Five skeletons were pierced instantly, shattered into bone fragments.

Leon clicked his tongue.

“Their Constitution’s still lacking.”

But it didn’t matter. The remaining five skeletons moved into defensive stances.

And then, five figures appeared ahead.

[Star Cave Mage]

[Level: 50]

[Combat Power: 100,000]

[Details: A mage that used the faint and mysterious mana of this cave to learn magic.]

Each one radiated dense magical energy. Their [Combat Power] was heavily concentrated in Spirit.

They were dangerous. But still weaker than Leon and Emilia.

Emilia reacted first.

Spectral Flames!

Ghostly fire surged forward, spreading across the corridor and sealing off escape paths.

The mages began to channel spells, but Leon stepped forward calmly.

“I guess I’ll try to kill you with the same attack you killed my skeletons with.”

He slammed his staff down.

Ice Spikes!

Mana surged beneath the cave floor.

Then—

CRACK!

Massive spikes of ice exploded upward from the ground.

The attack was overwhelming. Each spike pierced clean through a [Star Cave Mage], lifting them off their feet before freezing them solid.

They didn’t even finish casting. In an instant, their bodies shattered into fragments of ice and dissolved.

Silence returned to the corridor. Frost lingered in the air.

Leon slowly lowered his staff as cold mist swirled around him.

The raw power of a Legendary-tier skill was undeniable.
