Chapter 846: Chapter 263: Your New Nickname (6K)_4

It was obvious that Barkley’s level of engagement in this game could be compared to that of the Christmas game.

In last season’s finals, the Lakers were able to beat the two teams largely because of Barkley. It was always when Barkley gave his all that they could seize the opportunity to win.

The excitement of this game reached its peak on the morning after the game when the Lakers returned to Los Angeles.

After this wave of four consecutive away games, the Lakers get three days of rest, and their next game is not until the 30th.

When O’Neal returned home, he saw reports of his heroic performance in the newspapers and on TV, and…

“F… this is the nickname I wanted to give myself! How did that annoying guy come up with it first?

I really have such chemistry with this annoying guy? Impossible! But I only thought of giving myself such a nickname after the interview ended…”

O’Neal originally planned to announce in his next interview that he had given himself a new nickname and that he wouldn’t be called Big Shark anymore, but Big Diesel.

But he found out Zhang Hao had already given him that nickname.

This feeling was very subtle—he still didn’t like Zhang Hao, but…

“So, the person I hate most is the one who understands me best?”

…

After Zhang Hao returned to Los Angeles, he began training at 1 PM.

With 3 days of rest, there was only a training schedule on the 29th. After finishing the four consecutive away games and nearing the end of the season with only four games left until the All-Star weekend, Del Harris wanted to avoid mishaps now that they had managed to stay healthy.

It was just the right time for Zhang Hao to make use of the remaining two days of his second set of six-day crossover step training.

In the evening, Kenny Anderson came to find Zhang Hao, hoping to arrange an intense and exciting human vs AI match of Warcraft, only to find Zhang Hao practicing his crossover step training.

Kenny Anderson noticed that Zhang Hao’s crossovers were becoming increasingly proficient!

Previously, when Zhang Hao used the Nash Card, he rarely used crossover moves—there was no need for it while happily executing pick-and-rolls with Barkley. In prior games, he did use them, and now, after just 10 days it seems, Zhang Hao has made progress again!

Such a rapid rate of improvement is astonishing, but Kenny Anderson looked at himself at 183 cm, and then at Zhang Hao; anyway, besides O’Neal, no one on the team was taller than him…

The next day by noon, Kenny Anderson finished his morning training and went to Zhang Hao’s place to have lunch, planning to play Zhang Hao’s newly bought arcade game, The King of Fighters ’97, in the afternoon.

This time Zhang Hao agreed, letting Kenny Anderson play for a while first; he still had a set of training to finish.

Kenny Anderson entered Zhang Hao’s game room, seeing a row of arcade machines, the tokens freely available. He used a total of 12 tokens trying to defeat Crazy Leona, but still couldn’t win, coming out frustrated and hoping Zhang Hao would coach him after his training.

Then he went to the outdoor court and saw Zhang Hao practicing his crossover step breakthroughs even more smoothly than yesterday… This progress is too much!

This rate of improvement, is he even human?

But thinking back to the fall more than a year ago, when he first met Zhang Hao, Zhang Hao couldn’t do anything besides moving without the ball and shooting. Very quickly, he learned how to pass during games, adapted his style to become a better off-ball shooter, then scored over 50 points with a game-winning shot against Jordan to end his Brooklyn Nets career, and after that… made it to the All-Rookie First Team!

Now, Zhang Hao has even developed his crossover step!

At other times it was manageable, but this time Zhang Hao’s progress made Kenny Anderson feel like Zhang Hao broke through the positional barriers!

While Kenny Anderson was questioning his life, Zhang Hao finished the sixth hour of his training for the day at 1:33 PM, feeling ecstatic!

“Special contract player Zhang Hao’s crossover step rating has improved to 60, reaching the qualified level.”
