One Trait Draw Per Year Even Simulations Count

Chapter 552: Altering the Peace Bureau’s Order Files!

[As the saying goes, joy comes before sorrow.]

[You sampled exotic delicacies you had never tasted in any of your previous simulations, and felt the intense pleasure of your cultivation level increasing with every bite of food and sip of wine.]

[But there was a “negative effect” as well.]

[A notification appeared before your eyes:]

[After being washed by numerous and abundant heavenly treasures and earthly riches, your physique has undergone a transformation. The “Mortal Bones” trait tag has become invalid.]

“Uh... I knew it. You can’t just eat anything!”

Your venomized self ran riot across Ares Star alongside the Black Monkey King, trampling the royal family’s dignity beneath your feet and treating the strong from half the star realm like ants.

You did whatever you pleased, indulging without restraint.

It felt great.

But as a consequence of this simulation, you could no longer use “Mortal Bones.”

Your venomized self didn’t care about that.

He knew he had only one year, so why should he care if the world went to hell after he disappeared?

“Not necessarily. I ate so many good things. Maybe my transformed physique will let me cultivate faster? If I lose ‘Mortal Bones,’ which only speeds up the comprehension of Divine Abilities in this simulation, but gain faster cultivation in return, that’s still a good deal, right?”

[“Capture that damn monkey and the Human Race member for me!! Tear them to pieces!!”]

[The peaceful Ares Star was thrown into a planet-wide storm by your arrival with the Black Monkey King.]

[Everyone was mobilized to hunt the two of you down.]

[To keep you from plundering their resources, everyone hid all their valuables.]

[With everyone doing that, all you two could do on Ares Star was take a beating.]

[“This is no fun, no fun at all! Brother, we need to find somewhere else to have a good time!”]

[You looked at the Black Monkey King with some suspicion.]

[“With your aim, who knows how many tries it’ll take before we hit another Special-tier Star. Why don’t you and I team up and give them a proper fight? We can conquer Ares Star! Conquer the Ares Immortal Kingdom! Conquer the Southern Star Realm!”]

[“The Ares Immortal Kingdom has stood in your Celestial River Southern Star Realm for hundreds of thousands of years. There’s no way the two of us could overthrow it so easily. Let’s go play somewhere else instead. Off we go!!”]

[With a host of Immortal Kings on his heels, the Black Monkey King split open the heavens where he stood, plucked out a hair, and crossed through space.]

[You glanced at the pursuers, then at the spatial tunnel whose destination was unknown.]

[“Fine! There are a few too many Immortal Kings around here!”]

[The tunnels the Black Monkey King opened only lasted a very short time. You hesitated this time and nearly failed to make it through.]

[As expected, this crossing didn’t take you to another Special-tier Star as you’d hoped. You had ended up in another unknown little place.]

[By now, you were used to it. You calmly waited for the Black Monkey King to recover his Immortal power, even using spells to help him recover faster.]

[After an unknown number of attempts, you ran into another Special-tier Star.]

[“Where are we? Why aren’t there any stars nearby? And yet there are so many Channels connected to this place.”]

[You saw a planet that wasn’t very large, but had hundreds or even thousands of Channels connected to it, along with countless Star Harbors.]

[Strangely, the planet seemed to lie beyond the reach of any star’s light. The entire world was shrouded in darkness, with artificial light in only a few areas.]

[The Black Monkey King used his clairvoyance spell to take a look.]

[“This is Yalu Star.”]

[“Yalu Star? Never heard of it.”]

[“It’s the Peace Bureau headquarters in your Celestial River local galaxy.”]

[“You could’ve said so sooner.”]

[Remembering how the two Peace Bureau Immortal Kings on Vermilion Violet Star had tried to kill you, your grudge-holding streak kicked in, and you hurled a Light Speed Fist down from the air.]

[“Rumble!!”]

[A mushroom cloud rose from the surface below.]

[“Brother Monkey, take your time recovering your Immortal power. I ate too much on Ares Star, so I’m going down there to walk it off!”]

[“Sure, sure! I love watching other people fight!”]

[In that regard, the two of you were certainly birds of a feather.]

[Yalu Star was not only the Peace Bureau headquarters, but also the headquarters of many functional organizations directly subordinate to the Holy Dragon Society.]

[That was why it had so many Channels and Star Harbors. Business here was extremely busy.]

[You stormed into Yalu Star, attacking everyone you saw and smashing everything in your path.]

[In your venomous state, even Immortal Kings couldn’t do anything to you. You had nothing to fear as you charged around, cutting down one foe after another.]

[Unfortunately, you didn’t have a domain ability, so destroying the entire planet would be difficult.]

[What’s more, the moment you attacked, the armed forces of the various organizations on Yalu Star came after you. You didn’t have the chance to build up power for a big attack.]

[“Who is this guy?! Where did he come from?!”]

[“He’s Human Race! He’s one of the Human Race!”]

[“Take him down! We can’t let him destroy the organization’s facilities!”]

[Yalu Star’s defenses were incredibly strong.]

[There might not have been many Immortal Kings here, but the planet was protected by a complete defensive system built from formations, Spiritual Treasures, and star beasts. Its protective range covered the entire planet!]

[On top of that, each organization had powerful Immortal Kings and Immortal Lords stationed there.]

[They were caught off guard only at first, suffering heavy losses. Once they recovered, the entire planet closed in around you. Even if they couldn’t kill you, they could still trap you.]

[You were crazy, but you hadn’t lost your mind.]

[You quickly saw through their plan.]

[So you left behind a doppelganger to draw the pursuers away, then quietly slipped into the Peace Bureau’s office building.]

[“Let’s see if there’s anything fun in here...”]

[The Peace Bureau personnel had all gone outside to hunt you down, leaving only a handful of people behind.]

[The strongest among them was only at the Transcendent Realm. In your current state, it was easy to keep them from noticing you.]

[After circling through the complex building, you found what looked like a “library.”]

[When you went inside, you saw that the things on the shelves weren’t books, but file folders.]

[These files weren’t records of cases the Peace Bureau had already completed. They contained incidents awaiting action.]

[Each file recorded which area and faction had violated which regulations, what punishment should be imposed, how many people the Peace Bureau had to dispatch within a set period, what resources to bring, which Channel to take, and so on.]

[“They’ve written everything down in remarkable detail.”]

[The seal at the end of every file belonged to the “Holy Dragon Society’s Decision-Making Council.” Each one emphasized that the Peace Bureau must strictly follow the council’s plan and make no mistakes.]

[Suddenly, you had a flash of inspiration.]

[“Isn’t this just an ‘Imperial Decree’? If I change it, will the Peace Bureau still carry it out to the letter?”]

[At the thought, the corners of your mouth lifted.]

[“Good, good. Let’s make them turn on each other!”]

[Like Imperial Decrees, these files were written on an unusual material. No physical means could leave a mark on them; if you pressed too hard, they would break.]

[But the words on them weren’t carved in. They had been written using immortal dao energy.]

[All you had to do was expend divine power to alter the files.]

[“The Ares royal family is secretly harboring a wanted criminal from the Torch Society. Your bureau is hereby ordered to attack Ares Star within three years and capture the King of Ares alive...”]
