Chapter 464: Unstoppable, Things Have Changed!
There was no time for these few Dragon-Men to think.
Chen Yi's hand reached forward, and the Heavenly Dragon Blade howled as it shot out, its blade light splitting heaven and earth cleanly in two - one half blazing bright, the other pitch black as night.
Right at the boundary between black and white lay the bodies of those Dragon-Men who didn't know their place.
Silently and soundlessly, those Dragon-Men's bodies split in half, their internal organs and blood spilling out with a splash across the ground.
"Clang!"
Blade sheathed after the strike.
"Whoosh!"
The Ten Thousand Souls Banner gave a shake, and the souls of several Dragon-Men, along with Hu Chacha, were swept into the banner to be suppressed.
Done in one smooth motion, utterly practiced.
Sotuofeiren was laying the praise on thick, clapping and cheering as he went."Boss, that blade work was like a swimming dragon! And that banner flourish, graceful as a startled swan!"
The Ten Thousand Souls Banner mocked him.
"Quite the cultured flunky, aren't you?"
Chen Yi and Sotuofeiren continued on their way, searching for the Dragon-Man Realm Master.
Much like in the Holy Dragon Realm, Chen Yi would grab any nearby expert to interrogate. If they couldn't answer, he'd ask for the highest authority they could reach, then work his way up the chain level by level.
Interestingly enough.
The Dragon-Man Race's intelligence network truly was remarkably extensive.
News that two human Martial Gods were searching for the Realm Master spread quickly.
These two human Martial Gods had yet to suffer a single defeat, which drew the attention and curiosity of many Dragon-Man experts.
Combined with Chen Yi's unhurried pace, it wasn't long before he found people approaching him to challenge instead of the other way around.
"So you're the human Martial God who's been running around destroying things in my realm?"
A Dragon-Man dressed very strangely blocked Chen Yi's path.
What made his outfit strange was that he was wearing tree bark, looking like a walking stump.
As odd as he looked, he was a genuine late-stage Qi Transformation expert, a Void Realm Martial God!
Chen Yi wore the calm, confident smile of a true powerhouse.
He suddenly understood why those villains in novels always talked so much.
When you have absolutely overwhelming strength, why rush around in a panic?
It's just not dignified.
Take it easy.
"Friend, don't accuse me falsely. I haven't been destroying things all over. Anyone who willingly answered my questions, I let them go.
You might not know this, but sparing a Dragon-Man's life is an incredibly high moral standard for me."
In the Fourth Simulation, he'd died at the hands of a Dragon-Man Earth Venerable.
In the Fifth Simulation, he'd fought the Dragon-Men his entire life.
The fact that Chen Yi could restrain himself from committing mass slaughter in the Dragon-Man Realm was indeed a testament to his remarkably high moral standards.
But he wasn't exactly merciful either. The Dragon-Man facilities, factories, and cities he'd demolished, along with the Dragon-Men caught in the crossfire, were too numerous to count.
Still, strictly speaking, he had spared those who cooperated willingly and knew which way the wind blew.
This tree-bark-wearing Dragon-Man before him didn't seem to be one of those wise ones.
"Good, as long as it's you! I heard you want to meet our Realm Master. Hmph, you're not worthy of an audience with our Realm Master. Your journey in my Dragon-Man Realm ends here!"
With that, the tree-bark Dragon-Man erupted with a formidable aura.
The bark all over his body began to move, as if alive, growing and extending from his form into massive, thick branches spanning hundreds of meters. They thrashed wildly, like the tentacles of an octopus.
This man hadn't come alone. He had several attendants with him.
"General, we should report the enemy's position to our superiors first!"
"No need! I'll report after I've taken him down!"
"But this violates protocol!"
The tree-bark Dragon-Man's face darkened. He slowly turned to stare at the attendant, then suddenly his eyes widened and branches shot out from his body, piercing straight through the attendant's chest.
"Hmph, a spy! How dare you disguise yourself as my Deputy General!"
With that, he turned to look at the others.
"Anyone else want to file a report?"
All the attendants began pretending to be deaf and mute.
Sotuofeiren asked in confusion.
"Boss, why did he kill his own man first?"
Chen Yi chuckled.
"That's just how Dragon-Men are. He wants to hog all the credit. He's afraid that if he reports it, other Martial Gods will show up, and even if they capture me, the credit would be split evenly. That just wouldn't be worth it."
Chen Yi had already witnessed the Dragon-Man Race's hunger for advancement during the Fifth Simulation.
Having eliminated the obstacle interfering with his chance at great merit, the tree-bark Dragon-Man launched his attack at Chen Yi without hesitation.
He used that dizzying array of branches growing from his body to sweep wildly in every direction, like a ball of thorns tumbling through the air.
But after fighting for quite a while, he somehow lost track of Chen Yi.
"Where'd he go?!"
"I'm right here."
Chen Yi stood in the air, hands clasped behind his back, treading across the void.
"Would your name happen to be Mu Feimu?"
Chen Yi had eavesdropped on the attendants' thoughts and learned this tree-bark Dragon-Man's name.
Those attendants were cursing Mu Feimu in their minds, so of course they wouldn't call him General - they used his real name instead.
"Correct! I am the Wood Palace Master of the Five Elements Palace, Mu Feimu! If you've got real skill, face me head-on! What's the point of dodging around like this!"
Chen Yi was unimpressed.
"I happen to know someone named Huo Feihuo, and another named Jin Feijin. Are you all one big family?"
Mu Feimu couldn't be bothered to banter with Chen Yi. He attacked again.
Chen Yi snapped his fingers.
A section of the wood on Mu Feimu's body caught fire.
The flames couldn't be extinguished no matter what, and they spread at an absurd rate. In the blink of an eye, they had engulfed his entire body.
"Fire! Fire! What are you all standing around for?! Help me put it out!!"
Those attendants started spouting nonsense, after all, the hunger for advancement was a fine tradition shared by Dragon-Men from top to bottom.
"Excellent! The General is mighty!"
"The General truly is a powerhouse from the Five Elements Palace! A mere human isn't even worth a single blow from the General!"
"What a perfectly matched battle! I'm getting so fired up watching this!"
Whether those attendants were getting fired up or not was unclear, but Mu Feimu was definitely burning up.
Seeing that Mu Feimu's face had been scorched black by the Triple-Origin True Fire, Chen Yi generously stepped in.
"Let me help you put that out."
Mu Feimu felt an irresistible force of gravity beneath his feet, yanking him down from the sky at a speed that made his head spin.
"Boom!!! Rumble!!!"
Mu Feimu smashed a crater several thousand meters deep into the earth, with fissures spreading in every direction like they'd never stop.
The fire was out, alright.
The man was just about dead, though.
Chen Yi once again manipulated gravity, pulling Mu Feimu up from beneath the ground.
"Now then, where's your Realm Master?"
Mu Feimu let out a cold snort.
"I didn't think the human race had someone like you... I always said the Intelligence Department was a bunch of good-for-nothings..."
"They're in the Starry Domains."
"I didn't say that!"
Mu Feimu certainly hadn't said it, but Chen Yi had heard it from Mu Feimu's thoughts.
When Chen Yi's gaze swept over the people who had come with Mu Feimu, they dropped straight down from the sky, landed on both knees, then prostrated themselves flat on the ground, begging for mercy.
"Please, my lord, spare our lives! We will never oppose you!"
They shouted in perfect unison.
Chen Yi couldn't help but shake his head and sigh.
He thought back to the end of the Fourth Simulation, when he'd been torn apart by a female Earth Venerable - utterly pathetic, losing his life in the end.
In the Fifth Simulation, he'd spent his entire life fighting the Dragon-Men, campaigning east and west, helplessly watching countless comrades and close friends die at Dragon-Man hands.
And now.
He looked at these Dragon Kings and Dragon Saints kneeling before him.
"Things have changed, and so have the people."
