Chapter 74: Chapter74-Dividing the Spoils
As for the massive pile of equipment that remained...
John glanced toward Horus, who was still carrying bricks behind the city wall.
He directly selected everything and packed it up in bulk.
[You have sent Player "Luna Wolf" ×1 Equipment Package!]
[Package Contents: S-rank Equipment ×19, A-rank Equipment ×623, B-rank Equipment ×...]
[Message: Keep whatever you can use. Handle the rest however you want.]
Behind the city wall.
A mail notification suddenly popped up in front of Horus.
He casually opened it.
The next second.
His entire body froze in place.
White_Bear noticed something was wrong.
"Guild Master, what happened?"
Horus didn’t answer.
White_Bear leaned over and took a look.
Then the brick in his arms dropped to the ground again.
Bang!
"Nineteen pieces of S-rank equipment?"
"Over six hundred pieces of A-rank equipment?"
"Guild Master."
"Did our guild just get rich?"
Horus took a deep breath.
"Keep building the wall."
"Why are we still building a wall?"
White_Bear pointed toward John in the distance.
"From now on, just have him drop a black hole outside the city."
"Who the hell could break in?"
...
After distributing the equipment.
John opened the rankings.
With the war over, a massive amount of equipment and level data had already been refreshed.
[Global Equipment Rankings]
[Rank 1: Void Staff, SS-rank. Owner: Endbringer.]
[Rank 2: Faceless Shadow Garb, SS-rank. Owner: Endbringer.]
[Rank 3: Shadowstep Cloak, SS-rank. Owner: Endbringer.]
[Rank 4: Four-Blade Gauntlets, SS-rank. Owner: Endbringer.]
[Rank 5: Silent Battle Boots, SS-rank. Owner: Endbringer.]
[Rank 6: ...]
[Rank 7: Faceless Shadow Mask, S-rank. Owner: Endbringer.]
[Rank 8: ...]
[Rank 9: Silent Fang, S-rank. Owner: Endbringer.]
Of the top ten pieces of equipment on the rankings...
Seven belonged to John!
He opened the weapon rankings next.
After its fusion, the SS-rank Void Staff sat firmly in first place without the slightest suspense.
Its overall rating was even more than ten times higher than the weapon in second place.
For the time being, there was simply no weapon capable of threatening its position.
Finally, John opened the guild rankings.
[Global Guild Rankings]
[Rank 1: Luna Wolf.]
[Guild Master: Luna Wolf.]
[Rank 2: Black Rose.]
[Guild Master: FireRose.]
[Rank 3: ...]
John raised an eyebrow when he saw second place.
"Black Rose?"
"Zoey?"
He hadn’t expected Zoey to establish a guild during the time he had spent fighting in the Dawnstar City war.
And despite having only been founded recently, it had already climbed to second place globally.
Only then did John remember something.
To prevent system notifications from distracting him during battle, he had turned off friend-message alerts a long time ago.
He reopened the message panel.
His vision was instantly flooded by messages from Zoey.
[FireRose: Have you reached Dawnstar City yet?]
[FireRose: Why aren’t you replying?]
[FireRose: I made a guild.]
[FireRose: It’s called Black Rose. What do you think?]
[FireRose: I saved the Vice Guild Master position for you.]
[FireRose: Join the guild.]
[FireRose: Where are you?]
[FireRose: Reply when you see this.]
[FireRose: John!]
The latest message had been sent over ten minutes ago.
John thought about it for a moment.
For now, he didn’t reply.
There was no rush to join a guild.
He had already been fighting continuously for far too long.
On top of that, he had obtained so many things today that he needed to slowly sort through everything after logging out.
More importantly...
Tomorrow, the S-rank Pet Egg would finish incubating.
The SS-rank Random Mount Egg had yet to be appraised.
And the SSS-rank Pet Evolution Card still hadn’t been used.
He could deal with all of those things together tomorrow.
John glanced at the Eternal Night Gate, which had finally returned to peace.
"That’s enough for today."
"Log out."
[Do you wish to exit the game?]
"Yes."
White light rose from beneath his feet.
John’s body gradually turned transparent.
In the distance, Loki was still seriously considering how he should hand over the position of Dawnstar City’s supreme commander to this young man.
The next second.
His target disappeared.
The smile on Loki’s face slowly froze.
"Where’d he go?"
"No idea."
Reality.
John slowly opened his eyes.
The ceiling came into view.
The room was completely silent.
The curtains weren’t fully closed, allowing pale golden morning light to slip through the gap and stretch into a long, narrow strip across the bedroom floor.
John picked up the phone beside his bed.
7:13 a.m.
"This early?"
He was a little surprised.
For an ordinary person, seven in the morning wasn’t particularly early.
But for John in his previous life, this time usually meant one of two things.
Either he still hadn’t gone to sleep.
Or he was just about to.
Sleeping during the day.
Staying up all night gaming.
His biological clock had been so messed up that even jet lag wouldn’t have known which direction to go.
Thinking back on it now...
Maybe it really wasn’t that surprising that he had worked himself to death in his previous life.
John sat up from the bed.
Now, he possessed Constitution far beyond that of an ordinary person.
[Reality Merge] also continuously fed his in-game Strength back into reality.
In terms of physical condition alone, he was probably healthier than the overwhelming majority of people in the world.
But being physically strong was one thing.
Lying around all day obviously wasn’t a good habit either.
"I’ll go get some exercise."
"Consider it making up for last life."
John washed up.
He changed into a set of lightweight sportswear and walked out of the bedroom.
The moment he reached the bottom of the stairs, he saw Alfred already standing in the living room.
The old butler was, as always, dressed in an immaculate black waistcoat.
His cuffs were perfectly smooth.
His hair neatly combed.
It was almost as though no matter what time John woke up, Alfred would always appear downstairs ten minutes earlier.
"Good morning, sir."
"Morning."
John took the glass of water Alfred handed him.
"I’m going out for a run."
"Breakfast can wait."
Alfred bowed slightly.
"Of course, sir."
John stepped out of the villa.
The fresh morning air washed over him.
It was obvious that an enormous amount of money had been poured into the construction of this ultra-luxury residential community.
Ever since black snow had covered the world, genuine natural sunlight had become a luxury.
Yet inside this community, an enormous dome and environmental simulation system had recreated almost perfectly what mornings had once been like back when the sun still existed.
The sky was pale blue.
A gentle artificial "sun" had just begun rising behind the distant buildings.
If one didn’t deliberately look toward the edge of the dome, it was easy to fall under an illusion.
As though the black snow had never fallen.
As though the world were still normal.
John took a deep breath.
Then he began jogging along the artificial lake.
This time, [Reality Merge] had once again selected HP.
His body in reality had been strengthened yet again.
He had been wanting to test something anyway.
Just where exactly...
was his current limit?
