One Piece: I Upgraded the Strongest Man in the World

Chapter 38: The Five Elders’ Fury, Bellamy Finally Meets His Idol

  • Next Chapter

After the meeting ended, Fleet Admiral Sengoku remained alone in his office, lost in thought.

He knew this incident would have enormous repercussions for the World Government.

Not only had it caused the Government to lose face before the entire world, but it could also trigger a chain reaction of unpredictable consequences.

After careful consideration, Sengoku decided he needed to report directly to his superiors and seek further instructions.

He picked up a Den Den Mushi and contacted Saint Saturn.

The call connected quickly.

The voice that came through, however, was filled with anger and dissatisfaction.

"Sengoku, do you understand what the death of a Celestial Dragon means?"

Saturn’s tone was icy.

"The World Government has been humiliated before the entire world! As Fleet Admiral, you should be held responsible!"

Although he was clearly trying to maintain composure, the fury in his voice was unmistakable.

Sengoku remained calm.

"Saint Saturn, please allow me to explain."

He paused briefly.

"We’ve already taken emergency measures. A Buster Call has been authorized against Ron and his associates, and our strongest forces have been mobilized."

"I believe we can still recover some of the losses."

"Hmph."

A cold snort came from the other side.

"You think that’s enough?"

"Don’t forget the Whitebeard Pirates."

"They are one of the Four Emperors."

"If this situation is mishandled, the consequences will be unimaginable."

There was a brief silence.

"And besides..."

Saturn’s voice lowered.

"Now is not the time to start a war. You understand."

"...Yes."

Sengoku nodded.

"That’s precisely why we’re seeking a balance. We must uphold justice while avoiding a larger conflict. Maintaining peace across the seas remains our highest priority."

His answer failed to impress Saturn.

"Peace my ass!"

The sudden outburst shocked even Sengoku.

Clearly, Saturn’s patience had run out.

"Forget everyone else for now."

His voice hardened.

"Ron must be captured at all costs."

"We need the secret behind his multiple Devil Fruit powers."

"And collect blood samples from members of the Whitebeard Pirates as soon as possible."

"They’ll be delivered to Vegapunk for research and analysis."

Sengoku immediately realized there was no room for negotiation.

"Understood."

"I’ll carry out your orders."

Dressrosa

On this day, the island’s usual tranquility was broken.

A ragged, dark-skinned drifter appeared at the port.

His clothes were torn.

His skin was cracked from exposure.

It looked as though he had spent an eternity drifting across the sea.

"I need to see Doflamingo!"

He shouted weakly.

"I have important information to report!"

The moment the words left his mouth, his body gave out.

Thud.

He collapsed unconscious onto the ground.

When the drifter finally woke up, he found himself lying inside a modest but clean room.

The surroundings were quiet.

Only the occasional chirping of birds drifted in through the window.

As he attempted to sit up, the door opened.

A man wearing a white cape and carrying a golden cane entered.

A strange smile hung on his face.

Yet beneath it lurked cunning and curiosity.

"I say, I say..."

The man’s nasal voice echoed through the room.

"Who are you? And why are you looking for Doffy?"

It was Trebol.

Bellamy jumped in fright.

His body trembled instinctively.

However, he quickly regained his composure and looked closely at the newcomer.

The moment he recognized him, shock and nervous excitement surged through him.

Trebol.

One of the highest-ranking executives of the Donquixote Family.

One of Doflamingo’s closest confidants.

For anyone sailing the seas, meeting someone of Trebol’s status was no small matter.

"Y-You...!"

Bellamy stammered.

"You’re Trebol!"

His heart raced.

Sweat covered his forehead.

Disbelief filled his eyes.

"Behehehehehe!"

Trebol grinned.

"So you know who I am?"

"If I hadn’t happened to return today, those toys might’ve beaten you to death."

His tone sounded playful.

But a cold gleam flashed deep within his eyes.

To Trebol, someone with an unknown background like Bellamy was a potential threat.

And potential threats were often better off dead.

Bellamy instinctively shrank back.

He could clearly sense the killing intent radiating from Trebol.

A chill ran down his spine.

Why did these people always jump straight to murder?

Couldn’t they just talk things out?

Silently, he prayed he would survive this encounter.

"Wait!"

Bellamy hurriedly raised his hands.

"My name is Bellamy! I escaped from Jaya!"

Trebol’s expression remained unchanged.

Bellamy quickly continued.

"And I’m one of Doflamingo’s biggest fans!"

"My dream is to join the Donquixote Family and become part of the family!"

The more he spoke, the more excited he became.

His body trembled with fanatic enthusiasm.

"I know everything about the Donquixote Family!"

"There are nineteen members including me—I mean, including your organization!"

"Leader Doflamingo! You, Trebol! Pica! Diamante—"

Bellamy proceeded to list every member he knew.

After naming them all, he finally paused to catch his breath.

Despite spending seven days and seven nights sailing desperately across the sea, the moment he spoke about his idol, exhaustion seemed to vanish.

"Stop! Stop! Stop!"

Trebol finally interrupted him.

His expression had become noticeably strange.

"You said you came from Jaya?"

"Yeah."

Bellamy blinked.

"Is something wrong, Lord Trebol?"

"You can let me continue talking about how incredible Doflamingo is—"

"Wait."

Trebol leaned forward.

His excitement was almost unsettling.

The enormous strand of mucus hanging from his nose certainly didn’t help.

"If you’re from Jaya..."

His eyes narrowed.

"Then you know what’s happening with the Whitebeard Pirates, right?"

Bellamy hesitated.

"...I know some things."

He swallowed nervously.

"Are you asking about Admiral Aokiji?"

"Aokiji?"

Trebol froze.

"You don’t know?"

"...Behehehehehe."

Trebol suddenly laughed.

"Come with me."

"I’m taking you to see Doffy."

Bellamy froze.

Then his eyes widened with excitement.

Dressrosa – Royal Palace Garden

Sunlight filtered through the lush trees, casting shifting patterns across the garden.

The scent of flowers lingered in the air.

Donquixote Doflamingo sat casually in an elegant wicker chair.

A playful smile rested on his face as he observed Bellamy standing before him.

Curiosity.

Amusement.

Contempt.

All three emotions could be seen in his eyes.

Beside him lay the latest newspaper.

The front page was dominated by reports concerning the Whitebeard Pirates’ recent upheaval.

"You swear everything you’ve said is true?"

Doflamingo’s voice was low and magnetic.

Yet it carried a chilling undertone.

"It’s true!"

Bellamy nodded frantically.

"Absolutely true!"

His eyes burned with fanatic devotion.

To finally stand before the man he admired most in the world—

There was nothing more exciting.

His hands clenched tightly as he struggled to contain his emotions.

Doflamingo’s expression darkened.

Behind his red sunglasses, a dangerous shadow appeared.

The atmosphere instantly grew heavy.
