One Piece: I Upgraded the Strongest Man in the World

Chapter 171: Could Kai Really Seal Mōryō?

  • Next Chapter

It was also Temari’s first time seeing Kai use Medical Ninjutsu.

She had watched Sakura use it before, but even Sakura’s healing speed couldn’t compare to Kai’s.

"So what you said before about being Konoha’s greatest medical ninja was actually true."

Kai replied calmly,

"I had no reason to lie to you."

After treating Samui, Kai walked over to Kurotsuchi.

The future "Leg Kage," as fans jokingly called her, was already beginning to show why.

Her legs were long, slender, and perfectly toned.

Standing beside Kai, Temari watched as he focused entirely on treating Kurotsuchi’s injuries without letting his attention wander.

That alone made her feel relieved.

Ever since earlier, seeing Kai talking to other girls—especially beautiful ones—had left her feeling rather uncomfortable.

That was also why she had answered Shion’s question about Kai’s name before he could.

Even Temari had to admit that Kurotsuchi’s legs were exceptionally attractive.

She knew most men would have a hard time ignoring them.

Yet Kai remained completely composed, concentrating solely on healing her.

Temari couldn’t help feeling both impressed and pleased.

Of course...

Kai had glanced at them once and silently acknowledged how impressive they were.

But that was all.

He had no other thoughts.

Kurotsuchi suddenly felt a warm tingling sensation spread throughout her body.

Her wounds rapidly closed before her eyes.

Even her broken bones gradually knit themselves back together.

She could hardly believe that someone’s Medical Ninjutsu could reach such a level.

She knew the medical ninja of Iwagakure, and none of them possessed this kind of skill.

While Kai treated her, Kurotsuchi quietly looked up at his face.

Her eyes widened.

"Seriously...? I didn’t even notice before."

"Not only is he ridiculously strong..."

"He’s incredibly handsome too?"

"That’s so unfair. How did all the good things end up on one person?"

Without realizing it, she had been staring at him so intently that her face slowly turned red.

Watching from the side, Temari became increasingly uncomfortable.

Had Kai not been focused on healing Kurotsuchi, she might have stepped directly between them.

Meanwhile, Samui, whose injuries had already healed, walked over while rubbing her shoulder.

"Ninja of Konoha, thank you."

"Your Medical Ninjutsu is far superior to the medical ninja in Kumogakure. If it weren’t for you, I probably would’ve died here."

Unlike Kurotsuchi, Samui wasn’t thinking about anything else.

She was simply amazed by Kai’s healing ability—

And even more by his overwhelming strength.

She still hadn’t realized that he was the boy she’d had that misunderstanding with three years earlier.

After walking over, Temari unconsciously glanced at Samui’s striking figure before looking down at herself.

She immediately felt defeated.

Blonde hair.

Blue eyes.

Fair skin.

An incredible figure.

And stunningly beautiful besides.

Compared to Samui, Temari couldn’t help feeling that she fell short.

Fortunately...

When Kai had caught her earlier, he hadn’t even looked at her that way.

That meant he probably wasn’t interested.

"Kurotsuchi is the dangerous one."

Having ruled Samui out as a rival, Temari silently regarded Kurotsuchi as her biggest competition.

Less than a minute later, Kai finished treating Kurotsuchi as well.

She stood up and tested her body.

Everything had completely recovered.

Her eyes sparkled.

"It’s all healed!"

"Ninja of Konoha, your Medical Ninjutsu is incredible!"

She looked at Kai with unconcealed admiration.

Powerful.

An outstanding medical ninja.

And unbelievably handsome.

Kurotsuchi found it impossible not to admire him.

After healing her, Kai walked over to Shion.

By then, the guards of the Land of Demons had already arrived.

They surrounded the priestess protectively as she resumed her seat upon the throne.

Seeing Kai approach, Shion smiled.

"Lord Kai, when shall we depart for the Land of Demons?"

Previously, she had dreaded the journey, convinced it would only lead to her death.

But now...

Perhaps because of Kai’s confidence, she genuinely believed there was a good chance they could successfully seal Mōryō this time.

After thinking for a moment, Kai answered,

"Please rest for one more day."

"After that, we’ll escort you there."

Shion didn’t object.

Instead, she smiled and nodded.

She trusted Kai.

Perhaps because of his strength.

Perhaps because he had saved her life.

Or perhaps because...

He was the only man whose future she couldn’t see.

After speaking with her for a little while longer, Shion arranged accommodations for everyone.

Originally, she had wanted Kai to stay by her side.

However, Kai assured her that he would be nearby and could arrive instantly if anything happened.

Temari also confirmed that Kai was fully capable of providing immediate support.

Realizing that Kai was politely refusing, Shion chose not to insist.

Instead, she arranged for him to stay in a residence beside her own chambers.

After returning to his room, Kai lay down to rest.

The reason he wanted Shion to wait another day was simple.

She had just survived an assassination attempt and was still emotionally shaken.

Attempting to seal Mōryō in that state would significantly reduce her chances of success.

Besides...

With his Space-Time Ninjutsu, he could transport her to the Land of Demons in an instant.

There was no need to rush over a single day.

Only a few minutes after lying down, someone knocked on the door.

Temari’s voice came from outside.

"Kai, may I come in?"

Sitting up on the bed, Kai sighed helplessly.

"Come in."

The door opened.

Looking up, Kai discovered that Temari wasn’t alone.

Kurotsuchi and Samui had come with her.

"Going to bed this early?"

Temari asked with a smile.

While she spoke, Kurotsuchi and Samui found places to sit.

Three beautiful women sat together before him.

Any ordinary man would probably have been thrilled.

Kai, however, remained completely unfazed.

Instead, he was simply curious why they had all come.

Kurotsuchi kept staring at him.

Ever since he had saved her earlier, she’d hardly taken her eyes off him, and Kai was already getting used to it.

Samui was also watching him.

Unlike Kurotsuchi, however, her expression was filled with confusion, as though she were trying to remember something.

Kai remained seated on the bed while the three women sat on floor cushions below him.

From this angle, it almost looked as though they were his attendants.

Looking at Temari, Kai asked,

"So... what’s the matter?"

After thinking for a moment, Temari asked,

"Kai... are you really confident that Mōryō can be sealed?"

Kai blinked.

"The one sealing Mōryō is Lady Priestess."

"How would I know?"

But Temari shook her head.

"Honestly, I don’t think Lady Priestess can succeed."

"She probably isn’t as powerful as her mother was."

She looked straight at him.

"If she fails..."

"I think you could seal Mōryō instead."

Her words stunned both Kurotsuchi and Samui.

They knew Kai was incredibly powerful.

But Mōryō was a legendary demon said to possess the power to destroy the world.

Throughout history, only the priestesses had ever been able to seal it.

Yet Temari was claiming that Kai could do it?

Surely that was impossible.

But Temari wasn’t joking.

She meant every word.

She genuinely believed Kai possessed that ability.

Kai remained silent for a long time.

Kurotsuchi and Samui exchanged surprised looks before turning back toward him.

He had hesitated.

Could it be...

Did he really have the power to seal Mōryō?
