One Piece: Getting Stronger by Writing a Diary

Chapter 609 - 824 – Kalifa Might Be Imitating You

  • Next Chapter

Just thinking about how Arton might make her go another three hundred rounds with him sent an uncontrollable shiver through Kalifa.

That was terrifying. If something like that really happened, it would be absolutely terrifying.

Kalifa felt that if she kept following Arton's pace like this, she probably wouldn't even be able to meet Rob Lucci, Kaku, and Blueno once everything was over.

After all, she likely wouldn't be able to get out of bed for quite some time afterward.

"That's right, Kalifa. You should stay here."

"With Raki accompanying me, you don't have to worry about me betraying you."

"And even if Arton discovers that what happened wasn't a dream, with Raki keeping an eye on me, you'll still be able to explain things to him."

Kalifa spoke solemnly to Conis.

"That's right. Trust Kalifa and me."

Raki smiled.

"Besides, if you stay by Arton's side, you'll have him all to yourself for a while."

Conis's face instantly flushed at those words.

She had to admit, Raki's suggestion was extremely tempting.

The moment she heard it, Conis couldn't help letting her imagination run wild.

She imagined Raki and Kalifa leaving, only for Arton to suddenly pounce on her.

After all, until now, Kalifa had usually been the one doing the taking.

Conis herself hadn't gotten much of anything from Arton yet.

And when she remembered the scene of Kalifa taking from Arton earlier, Conis couldn't help licking her lips.

"All right. I'll stay."

Conis took a deep breath and answered solemnly.

"Good."

Raki nodded. Once she was sure Kalifa was ready, she helped her get dressed and put on her shoes.

After they finished preparing everything, the two left the room together.

Conis watched them leave, then immediately turned back toward Arton.

Looking at the long blade resting on his body, she reached out without hesitation and began playing with it with both hands.

"Finally, I have a chance to have you all to myself."

The corners of Conis's lips curled upward as she spoke almost involuntarily.

Remembering the technique Kalifa had used with this blade earlier, Conis instinctively began imitating her.

Meanwhile, elsewhere...

"I bet Conis is imitating your technique right now. Don't you think so, Kalifa?"

Raki supported Kalifa as they walked down the street.

"Hm?"

Kalifa raised an eyebrow.

"No way. Conis looks like such a gentle girl. She wouldn't use a technique as wild as a beast's."

"Hehe. Judging by the way Conis looked earlier, there's definitely a wild side hidden inside her."

"I see."

Kalifa nodded, then asked Raki with interest, "What about you? Do you have a wild side too?"

"Of course I do. After all, the works Arton created about me in his diary are all like that."

"I see. Looks like we really do have some things in common. Why don't you let me see your diary too?"

"Of course. Didn't we already agree on that earlier?"

Raki knew exactly what Kalifa was referring to.

Along the way, Kalifa and Raki admired the works in each other's diaries.

Every so often, startled exclamations escaped their lips.

For a while, both of them felt as though the doors to an entirely new world had been thrown open before them.

"You really are... incredible."

Kalifa gave Raki a thumbs-up.

"You're the truly incredible one."

"Speaking of which, quite a few of your works show you wearing 'zero-two-three' black stockings."

"Since you want to join us when Arton comes to Water 7, why not wear black stockings? Maybe the moment he sees you in them, he'll come looking for you on his own."

Raki asked curiously.

"To tell you the truth, I did buy quite a few outfits that I thought Arton might like."

"It just so happens that I didn't wear anything like that today."

"And we CP9 agents have a meeting tonight, so there's even less chance I'd wear anything seductive."

Kalifa sounded somewhat helpless.

If she had known Arton would come to Water 7 today, she would have worn one of those outfits first thing in the morning—something that would make the people of Water 7 mistakenly think she already had a boyfriend.

Thinking about that left Kalifa somewhat annoyed.

When she learned that Zephyr was here looking for Arton, she should have asked Iceburg for leave and gone back to change.

If she had been able to change clothes then, perhaps she wouldn't have ended up getting electrocuted by Conis.

"Don't blame Conis either. She had no choice but to attack you at the time. I hope you can understand."

Raki hurriedly explained, thinking Kalifa was angry with Conis.

"No, you don't have to do that. I really was a little angry with her at first."

"But I don't feel that way at all anymore."

Kalifa waved her hand repeatedly.

After all, when they had been in Arton's room earlier, Conis had helped her insert Arton's saber into its sheath.

Kalifa was extremely grateful to anyone willing to help her.

Besides, they would become companions later anyway.

Under those circumstances, there was naturally no reason for Kalifa to remain angry with Conis.

"More importantly, I'm more interested in the molds you two obtained."

"Speaking of which, how far have you trained your molds?"

"Just how strong are the two of you now?"

Kalifa asked curiously.

Having watched the scenes Arton had broadcast through the diary, Kalifa knew a little about Raki's and Conis's circumstances.

Although Raki was a Shandia warrior, she hadn't actually been all that powerful.

At least in Kalifa's estimation, if she had fought Raki before Raki joined Arton's crew, she was confident she could defeat her in an instant.

As for Conis, there was even less to say.

Before joining Arton's crew, Conis had been nothing more than an ordinary person.

If Kalifa fought the old Conis, she was confident she could defeat her without even moving.

Of course, if she were facing the current Conis, she no longer had that confidence.

The moment she thought about the Serval Template Conis possessed, Kalifa felt a surge of excitement in her heart.

That was a template Arton had evaluated as possessing universe-level potential.

If she could obtain a template like that, Kalifa felt she might even wake up laughing from her dreams.
