Chapter 399 399: You Scared Her to Tears
Shirahoshi was scared out of her wits.
She stared at the little girl collapsed at her feet, at the blood staining her shoes.
Terror was about to completely consume her.
She knew. The moment the Celestial Dragon appeared, she knew!
That was the same type of person who had killed her mother.
She was well aware that in the human world, these people held the highest status! They could kill whomever they wished without consequence.
Realizing this, Shirahoshi’s body trembled faintly.
And then…
The Celestial Dragon’s voice reached her ears.
Watching the bodyguards charging toward them, tears welled in her eyes instantly.
Tugging at Vir-sama’s arm, she stammered in panic, “Vir-sama! Let’s run!”
Even the people kneeling on the ground wore looks of pity.
What a beautiful girl… to catch a Celestial Dragon’s attention! She’s doomed now.
They didn’t even kneel—that was practically suicide!
One wrong move, and they’ll both be dead. What a tragedy!
Nobody thought they’d dare resist. Resistance only brought worse suffering.
Shirahoshi’s beauty sparked greed in the eyes of those around the Celestial Dragon—even the two Supernova slaves couldn’t help but feel regret.
Soon, she’ll be nothing but a plaything for them… while the man beside her? At best, he’ll live as a slave.
Resist, and they’ll torture him to death.
No question about it.
They knew the bodyguards’ strength—all Vice-Admiral level. More than enough to crush nobodies.
To be fair, the Celestial Dragons had made improvements—at least their guards were actually strong now.
As the green-haired Celestial Dragon fantasized about pinning Shirahoshi beneath him, the guards reached Vir.
Before Shirahoshi could react, they were already upon them.
Four men—one lunged for Shirahoshi, the other three struck at Vir!
One slashed with a sword, while the other two threw brutal punches.
They weren’t going all-out—the Celestial Dragon hadn’t ordered Vir’s death.
Just as the Celestial Dragon let out an excited cheer—
*CLANG!! THUMP! CRACK!*
A slash and two heavy impacts landed on Vir’s body.
The three attacking him froze in shock.
“H-He used Armament Haki?!”
“And he blocked all our attacks with just that?! Impossible!”
His aura wasn’t even strong! Otherwise, they wouldn’t have underestimated him!
Yet Vir’s gaze wasn’t on them.
His right hand was clenched around the wrist of the man reaching for Shirahoshi.
A faint smile curled on his lips.
With his Armament Haki infused with darkness ability, the natural durability of his physique, and the exoskeleton ability Sanji had once provided (doubling his defense), these guys couldn’t scratch him even if he stood there all day.
Shirahoshi, seeing the hand inches from her, burst into tears instantly.
Her tears flowed like a river.
And at the same time, Vir’s system chimed with a notification for negative points.
One guard scowled. “Brat! Know your place! Resist, and you’ll suffer!”
“Hand over the girl!” another barked. “Cut off your own balls if you want to live!”
“Don’t make us call an Admiral!” a third sneered. “You’ll die horribly!”
None of them realized the gap in strength between them and Vir.
They even had the nerve to tell him to self-castrate…
Vir ignored them, staring at the man he had captured.
With a calm smile, he murmured, “You made her cry.”
The man burst into laughter.
“HAHAHA! Kid, you still—”
—FWOOSH!
Before he could finish, searing white flames engulfed him.
The explosive heatwave blasted everyone else away—flinging them dozens of meters back!
Only Vir, Shirahoshi (clutching his arm), and the burning man remained in place.
The scorching temperature instantly melted the surroundings.
The ground caved into a smoldering crater. Distant shops were blasted apart by the heat.
The man in Vir’s grip—after letting out a bone-chilling, bloodcurdling scream—was gone.
Erased.
Not even ashes remained.
White flames had reduced a Vice-Admiral-level fighter to nothing in three seconds.
As the light faded, Vir dusted off his hands.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host! You’ve earned 50,000 negative points!]
Shirahoshi stopped crying—mostly because the heat from those flames nearly dried her eyes out.
She’d felt the raw power of that fire up close. She clung to Vir’s left arm the whole time.
But under Vir’s control, the flames didn’t touch her. It was just… a little hot.
Everyone who witnessed this stood frozen.
This man…
He just…
Killed a Celestial Dragon’s bodyguard?
Just like that?!
A single spark, and the guy was vaporized?!
And when those attacks hit him—he didn’t even blink?!
Who the hell is he?!
With power like that, how had they never heard of him?!
The two Supernova slaves were equally stunned.
That was Vice Admiral-level strength!
And he took them out like it was nothing? A Vice Admiral?!
If he could one-shot a Vice Admiral, didn’t that mean…?
Holy crap! This place was about to go wild! Some Admiral-level monster just showed up out of nowhere!
But soon, the two slaves silently cheered Vir on, hoping he’d take out the Celestial Dragon next!
The three bodyguards who’d attacked Vir went pale.
This guy! He actually dared to kill!
What kind of terrifying flames were those?! Three seconds, and their buddy was gone?!
