One Piece: Alucard the Immortal
Chapter 811 - 810: A Life with No Regrets
"Grandpa..."
Luffy’s expression turned incredibly complex. Failing to cherish someone while they are alive and being consumed by regret once they are gone, this was the most accurate description of Straw Hat Luffy’s heart right now.
However, Luffy’s soft cry of "Grandpa" failed to awaken any underlying affection within Garp’s soul. What answered him was a heavy punch reinforced with Garp’s Armament Haki. In a single instant, Luffy was blasted kilometers away, crashing deep into a rocky mountain on the island.
BOOM!!!
Luffy’s body slammed through the stone wall. The onlookers could only watch as the cliffside shattered into fragments, throwing up a massive screen of dust.
"Luffy was blown away in a single hit! He’s amazing... the Hero of the Marines," Chopper exclaimed in sheer awe.
"Is this really the time to be admiring the enemy?!"
Usopp cried, tears flowing like rivers down his face. "If we keep fighting like this, we’re completely dead meat!"
"There is no need to worry, Mr. Long-Nose."
At that moment, Borsalino walked forward with his hands casually shoved deep into his pockets. "As long as you surrender without a fight, the most we will do is throw you into Impel Down. As for that pet raccoon with a 50-Berry bounty, it would only have to serve less than half a year before being released."
"M-M-Marine Admiral Kizaru!!!"
Usopp and Chopper’s tongues practically tied themselves into knots out of sheer terror. Usopp waved his hands frantically in a panic. "W-Why are you targeting us, Admiral?! Go after those much stronger big-name pirates from the Whitebeard Pirates instead!"
"Well, it can’t be helped. Since there are so many formidable people gathered here anyway, I prefer to pick the easier opponents."
Borsalino shrugged helplessly. In the next instant, he raised his hands, and a brilliant blade of pure light coalesced in his right palm. "Ama no Murakumo."
"Now then, please surrender quietly, Mr. Long-Nose, and pet raccoon."
"I’m a reindeer, not a raccoon!..." Even in this life-or-death crisis, Chopper couldn’t help but scream furiously in his own mind.
"Yo, child. You’ve worked hard navigating the seas all this way. Farewell."
Following a sharp gunshot from Alucard’s hand, Kozuki Oden’s sole heir, Kozuki Momonosuke, met his end right then and there. His skull split open like a watermelon struck by a heavy wooden club, leaving brain matter, blood, and eyeballs scattered in a gruesome heap.
"You... you bastard! How dare you do that to Momonosuke-sama...!!!"
Consumed by unbridled rage, Kin’emon drew his katana, its edge erupting in blazing flames. He charged madly at Alucard, but before his blade could even come close to striking the man’s body, a figure suddenly intervened to intercept the blow.
Black Thorn Fallon!
Staring at the Armament Haki-infused forearm blocking his blade, Kin’emon ground his teeth and tried to press forward, but Fallon held his ground like an iron wall, refusing to give an inch.
"You guys certainly took real good care of me last time. Now then, die!"
Fallon lunged forward, thrusting his beastly claws directly at Kin’emon’s face. Kin’emon retreated frantically, opening up a distance of over ten meters. Suddenly, he felt a warm sensation trickling down his face; he reached up to wipe it, only to find his hand covered in blood.
On the other side, Fallon lightly licked the fresh blood from his fingertips, his eyes gleaming with unadulterated brutality and killing intent. "Alright, let’s keep going!"
On a separate sector of the battlefield, Ivalis had beaten Yasopp to the ground, his blade firmly driven into the soil right beside the sniper’s neck.
"I told you, I will not stay my hand this time."
Yasopp released his grip on his rifle. In his final moments, he did not beg Ivalis for mercy, nor did he scream out for backup. Instead, the image of his wife’s face as she watched him leave their home surfaced clearly in his mind.
At the very end, Yasopp finally let out a wistful sigh. "I really am a piece of trash, aren’t I?"
"Yeah, honestly," Ivalis agreed with a nod. With a swift fluid motion of his blade, he cleanly severed Yasopp’s head from his shoulders.
Witnessing this horrific scene unfold, Usopp pushed past the brink of collapse, screaming at the top of his lungs, "Dad!!!"
"Mr. Long-Nose, letting your mind wander while facing a Logia user when you don’t even possess Haki... is an absolute death wish, ne~~"
A sudden flash of light materialized directly beside Usopp. With tears still pooling in his eyes, Usopp turned his head just in time to see Borsalino’s sweeping leg connect heavily with his face.
And then, everything went completely blank.
In the eyes of everyone else, Borsalino’s kick turned Usopp into a streak of light, launching him kilometers away until he slammed violently into the stone facade of the island’s rocky cliffs.
However, unlike Luffy, Usopp did not possess superhuman defensive capabilities. Whether he could survive such an impact was entirely up in the air.
At that moment, Luffy burst out from the shattered rock face, quickly converging with Ace and Sabo. Having witnessed the exact moment Usopp was kicked away, he glared at Borsalino with burning hatred. "You bastard...!"
"Oh my, how terrifying. But you three are about to die anyway, the three brothers who disrupted the entire world."
Borsalino offered a lazy taunt before instantly dissolving into glittering light particles, relocating himself to another part of the battlefield. He had absolutely no desire to get bogged down by the troublesome trio.
With Kizaru gone, Alucard walked up to stand directly before the three brothers. Manifesting around him from the depths of the River of Death were not only Garp, but also Blackbeard Teach, Kaido, Katakuri, and a host of the world’s most elite powerhouses.
"Are you truly prepared to die alongside Straw Hat, son of Roger?"
Alucard didn’t spare Luffy or Sabo a single glance. Instead, he locked his deeply mocking gaze entirely onto Ace. In his assessment, out of the three individuals standing before him, Ace had the least logical reason to engage in a suicidal struggle against him.
"Don’t call me by that title. I am Portgas D. Ace."
Ace rolled his shoulders, his arms igniting into brilliant, roaring flames. "If I were to abandon my little brother just to save my own skin, I would regret it for the rest of my life!"
Alucard’s assessment was entirely correct, hitting the nail on the head regarding Ace’s own perspective. He truly had no fundamental obligation to throw his life away here, especially in a confrontation where the odds against them were so utterly absolute.
Yet, for the sake of his two brothers, he was entirely willing to gamble his life away.
Alucard lowered his head, falling silent for a brief moment. When he suddenly snapped his gaze back up a few seconds later, Garp, Teach, Kaido, and the rest of the River of Death thralls surged forward in a relentless, synchronized assault.
Luffy, Sabo, and Ace had long since assumed their combat stances, throwing out their fists to meet the oncoming tide head-on.
