Chapter 1045: Chapter 1045: Weapon S2 — Master Nekomamushi
"W-what is that thing?"
"A monster cat?"
"You’ve got to be kidding me! How could a cat that size even exist in this world?"
Catarina Devon, Obes, and the others stared in shock at the gargantuan figure standing before them. A palpable, suffocating aura of brutality permeated the palace hall, causing every one of them to turn pale.
"How did you bring him here? Did Dr. Dalt approve of this?"
Mina, too, looked taken aback at the sight of the colossal beast. "If this monster loses control, we’re going to have a massive problem!"
Daren, who had once again emerged halfway from the floor, shouted a grim warning: "Everyone, be careful! That monster cat is one of the two great rulers of the Mink Tribe, Master Nekomamushi. He’s a former member of the Roger Pirates. He is, without a doubt, a monster of peerless strength!"
"A Ruler of the Mink Tribe?!"
"A member of the Roger Pirates?!"
The news Daren dropped was like a bombshell, leaving Catarina Devon, Obes, and the swarm of World Government agents completely rattled.
The Minks were a race of natural-born warriors; as their Ruler, one could only imagine the sheer, monstrous power he possessed. And as a former member of the Roger Pirates... that was a crew of the Pirate King himself!
From the Yonko Red-Haired Shanks to the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Buggy the Clown, and the "Dark King" Silvers Rayleigh, the first mate of the Roger Pirates... every single person who had walked off that ship was either an otherworldly monster of power or a world-renowned titan.
Furthermore, why would a Ruler of the Mink Tribe be here?
"This was Dr. Dalt’s decision, a live-combat test," Otto replied, his expression strained. He had been given orders; otherwise, he wouldn’t dream of dragging such an unfinished test subject into the fray.
Although Master Nekomamushi had undergone a series of hypnotherapy and brainwashing procedures on Alvis Island, along with various experimental modifications, the time spent on the procedure had been brief, especially when factoring in the time required to heal his initial injuries. Had Pudding not modified Nekomamushi’s memories, Otto wouldn’t have brought this monster cat out even if his life depended on it.
"I just hope he doesn’t go berserk," Gorbo muttered, his eye twitching violently as he took a long, hard look at the cat.
As established, the strength of the two Mink Rulers was legendary; in a one-on-one fight, Nekomamushi was easily a match for Jack the Drought. If he were to enter his Sulong form, his power would likely surge to even more terrifying heights.
This monster cat possessed combat prowess on par with the Calamities of the Beasts Pirates. If he lost control, he could easily reduce the entire Palace Entertainment City to rubble.
Even if the Chris Pirates were at full strength, unless Aeridar personally intervened, it would take at least two senior officers to contain him. And that wasn’t even considering that they didn’t have a single senior officer present, the only one capable of matching that caliber of power was currently locked in a duel with a red dragon elsewhere in the city.
"S2, eliminate the enemies before you!"
With no other choice, and needing to collect combat data on Nekomamushi, Otto waved his hand and issued the order to attack.
"Nya-oooh—!"
Codenamed "S2," Master Nekomamushi let out a shrill, eerie cry. His eyes bulged, erupting with a frantic, savage murderous intent. His massive body surged forward, moving with a speed and agility that defied his size.
"Watch out! He’s coming!" Daren warned frantically.
Nekomamushi’s first target was Catarina Devon. He crossed the distance in a mere breath or two, his massive frame closing in instantly. He thrust his double-headed trident forward with a howl of gale-force winds, piercing straight through Catarina’s body and slamming her into the marble floor.
However, the spot where the trident pierced her body didn’t bleed. Instead, her entire form distorted like a mirage, and she mysteriously vanished from the spot.
Gorbo frowned, his voice filled with doubt. "An illusion again? Can S2 not tell the difference..."
Before he could finish, Master Nekomamushi tore the trident from the floor and swung it horizontally in a massive, sweeping motion, kicking up a violent gust of wind.
CLANG—!
A massive, ringing sound of metal-on-metal erupted in the air, accompanied by a shower of sparks. Catarina Devon was forced out of the air as if she had been physically struck, skidding back several meters. Her hands, gripping her rapier, were shaking uncontrollably.
"Such power... how did he find me?" Catarina gasped, staring at the monster cat in disbelief.
"It’s his nose!" Otto said, taking the giant wheel-axe from his back with a ferocious grin. "He already has the instincts and smell of a wild beast, and after his body was modified and reinforced, he can pinpoint your location even if you were hiding hundreds of meters underground!"
With that, Otto dashed forward and swung his wheel-axe at a middle-aged agent.
"Armament: Tekkai!"
The agent turned pale with fright, hastily crossing his arms to block the blow.
CLANG—!
The monstrous, terrifying power of the axe erupted in full. The agent had no capacity to resist; his arms were shattered instantly. With a sharp whiz, he was sent flying backward, smashing through the palace wall and vanishing from sight.
"Damn it! Rankyaku: Sen (Line)!"
"Shigan: Tobushigan (Flying Finger Pistol)!"
Two agents launched their attacks simultaneously, flanking Otto from left and right.
"ROAR—!"
Otto bellowed, his body bulging as his muscles hardened into something akin to cast steel. He didn’t even flinch as the linear slashes and air-bullets struck him.
Whether it was the material of his dark-gold armor or his own iron-clad skin, the long-range attacks left only negligible marks that didn’t penetrate in the slightest, and even those shallow scratches healed almost instantly.
"Soru—Tekkai: Steel Fist!"
A figure suddenly appeared before Otto, slamming a punch into his face. A violent blast of wind rippled out, kicking up a thick cloud of dust.
"I hit him! Haha, enjoy the—"
The man in the black suit paused, stunned that he had actually landed a blow. He let out a triumphant laugh, but before he could even finish, he realized his opponent was completely unfazed.
"Hey, hey, hey... are you an infant?"
Otto spoke in a dull, annoyed tone. He looked at the agent with disgust and then unleashed a single punch, smashing the man’s bones to powder and sending him flying away while coughing up blood.
"Awoooo—!"
Suddenly, a dust-covered Puda rushed out, running headlong into Master Nekomamushi, who was in the middle of a rampage.
Nekomamushi didn’t know the meaning of restraint. Now little more than a living weapon, he followed his instructions to kill without mercy.
Puda, who stood four meters tall, was even larger than Nekomamushi, and he viciously raked his wolf-claws toward the cat’s head.
"Nya-oooh—!"
Master Nekomamushi shrieked, his double-headed trident instantly parrying Puda’s claws.
Without missing a beat, Nekomamushi leaped into the air, driving both feet into Puda’s chest with a BANG, sending the wolf-man flying as he spat out a spray of blood.
SHUCK!
Nekomamushi surged forward in a blur, catching up to the airborne Puda. He brought his trident down with savage force, pinning Puda firmly to the ground.
