One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 1280 - 1276: Exploration Discussion (Part 1)
"Gentlemen, this is the noble Princess Juliette, the owner of this garden." Having said this to Igor and Kadi, Old Cole gave the woman a deep bow.
Igor and Kadi hastily paid their respects. They never expected to meet the princess so quickly, and what surprised them even more was that the princess was pregnant.
Now Igor and Kadi finally understood why Old Cole asked them not to be so casual in causing disruptions. It turned out that Princess Juliette was pregnant, and at this moment, they couldn't make a fuss and upset the princess, as it wouldn't be good for the child she was carrying.
"Greetings, Your Highness!" Igor and Kadi were at a loss for words. They were clearly unprepared, especially for the fact that Princess Juliette was pregnant, which they treated with caution, fearing to say something wrong and displease the princess.
"Hehe..." Princess Juliette let out a ringing laugh. Clearly, Igor and Kadi's behavior didn't upset her. Instead, their bewilderment amused Princess Juliette.
This laughter made Igor and Kadi even more nervous, unsure of what to do.
Whether to speak or stay silent, they were at a loss and had to look towards Old Cole for help.
"Don't look at me!" Old Cole shrugged, "What good is looking at me? You should be talking to Her Highness the princess!"
Igor and Kadi exchanged glances, unsure of what to say.
At this point, they could only look at Princess Juliette with some embarrassment.
"There's no need to be so nervous; I won't eat you." Princess Juliette said, her tone gentle and without a hint of arrogance.
"We, we're not nervous; we just don't know what to say." Igor said honestly.
"Yes, we're afraid of upsetting you." Kadi pointed to Juliette's belly.
Igor shot Kadi a look, indicating that his action was too rude and should not be done.
Kadi immediately lowered his head, like a child who had done something wrong.
"Hehehe." Princess Juliette laughed with a silvery laugh, a sound quite pleasant to the ears and soothing to hear.
This laughter also alleviated the awkwardness felt by Igor and Kadi.
"I suppose the masked one is Kadi, and the other is Igor." Princess Juliette said with a smile.
"Uh, that's my oversight, Your Highness. I should have introduced these two!" Old Cole immediately paid his respects to the princess, clearly seeing his lapse. He had originally thought that the lively Igor and Kadi would introduce themselves, but who knew they would change their demeanor upon arriving here.
It seemed they had become more cautious.
"So was I correct?" Princess Juliette looked at Old Cole and Igor.
"Absolutely correct, I'm Igor, and he's Kadi." Igor, infected by Princess Juliette's cheerfulness, quickly returned to being natural.
"Hehe, now you're a bit more normal." Princess Juliette answered with a smile.
"But, princess, how did you know our names?" Kadi was still very curious about this and scratched his head as he asked.
"Hehe, doesn't wearing that mask make you uncomfortable?" Princess Juliette asked Kadi with concern.
Kadi peered at Igor and then at Old Cole through his mask: "See, I told you, wearing a mask while meeting the princess is very impolite."
"Uh, weren't we worried that your face might be too shocking!" Igor said exaggeratedly.
Because Her Highness the Princess was completely unpretentious, it made the two of them more lively.
Old Cole chuckled along; he was quite satisfied with these two young ones because they possessed something special. Seeing them reminded him of his own youth, and these two always gave off a trustworthy vibe.
"Take off your mask, Kadi, I know you only have one eye." Princess Juliette said to Kadi.
"Your Highness, isn't that inappropriate?" Igor didn't know how to politely voice his concerns and could only say this.
"Don't worry about me. I know what Kadi looks like, and I know where you're from. Oh, I haven't answered Kadi's question yet."
"Hmm?" Facing Princess Juliette's statement, Igor and Kadi were a bit puzzled.
"What question? We don't remember asking you anything!" Kadi was also puzzled.
"Hehehe, you two are quite amusing. Didn't you just ask how I knew your names?" Princess Juliette laughed so hard she almost couldn't stand. She walked slowly to the bench and sat down.
"Oh, that. We were curious before, but now think maybe someone from the Kangen Family told Your Highness."
"No, you guessed wrong; it wasn't the Kangen Family who told me."
"Wasn't it?" Igor and Kadi turned towards Old Cole, obviously shocked by this answer. If it wasn't the Kangen Family who told Princess Juliette about their identities, how did she know their names?
"Don't look at me, I'm just a guide." Old Cole shrugged again, clearly feeling helpless about the current situation.
"Uh, I think Your Highness must be a Wizard, because wizards can do divination, so it's possible to foresee our names." Igor speculated.
"Hmm, why do you think I'm a Wizard and not a Scholar? Scholars can also deduce!" Princess Juliette curiously looked at Igor, and Kadi beside her was equally surprised by Igor's judgment.
Igor shrugged, then spread his arms wide, pointing to everything around them: "Because of this garden!"
"This garden, what's the matter with it?" Kadi scratched his head and looked around; he didn't see any difference.
"Yes, what does this garden have to do with wizards?" Princess Juliette tilted her head, also curious about Igor's statement.
"Hehe, wizards are naturally well-versed in all kinds of flora, aren't they? They study plants, right? Aren't there many compendiums and books on the subject?" Igor explained confidently.
"What do the plants and flowers in my garden have to do with a wizard's compendium?" Princess Juliette continued to ask, clearly having developed a keen interest in Igor's rhetoric.
"Hehehe, it's simple. Anyone observant would notice that the flora in your garden is quite unique, with much of it possibly used for study. You know, wizard studies, like potion making, the efficacy of herbs, and other matters like that."
Igor spoke confidently, as if he had done ample preparation.
Princess Juliette listened quietly, clearly intrigued as she hadn't heard such talk in a long time, finding it very novel.
