On a Stormy Night, the Campus Belle Knocked on My Door Seeking Shelter
Chapter 259: Summer, Beach, Fireworks, and Confession
Chen Mo held Su Yuqing tightly, resting his chin on the crown of her head and feeling her tremble and lean into him.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of her hair. An unprecedented, profound sense of fulfillment and belonging filled his entire soul.
Suddenly, Su Yuqing pulled back slightly. As Chen Mo watched in confusion, she slowly tilted her face upward, like a flower bud quietly blooming in the night, ready to receive the morning dew.
She closed her eyes, her thick lashes casting two small, trembling shadows on her pale cheeks.
It was a silent consent, an invitation more direct and fervent than any words could be.
Chen Mo’s breath hitched.
All his senses focused on the petal-soft lips before him, slightly parted.
A jolt of immense joy and intense nervousness surged through him.
He slowly, reverently, lowered his head, inching closer.
Their breaths mingled first, warm and carrying their unique scents as they brushed against sensitive skin.
It was a sense of intimacy that was both unfamiliar and yet a perfect fit.
The next second, a touch—impossibly light, soft, and faintly searching—landed on Su Yuqing’s lips.
It was like sipping sun-warmed honey, like touching the softest of petals.
Cool and soft, with a barely perceptible tremble, it held an incredible sweetness that instantly bloomed between their lips, warming them to their very core.
It wasn’t a conquest, not a collision of passion, but a careful confirmation. A solemn offering. A sense of belonging, long-awaited and finally found.
Chen Mo’s heartbeat was deafening, drowning out all other sounds.
He clearly felt the softness and warmth of her lips, felt her body stiffen for an instant, and then the subtle but unmistakable tremor that followed.
But that small response was like a spark on dry tinder, igniting the flame he had suppressed for so long.
In an instant, his cautious exploration was replaced by a more turbulent instinct.
He deepened the kiss.
No longer a fleeting touch, it became an exploration—unpracticed but intensely fervent.
Their lips gently nipped and brushed against each other, filled with the unique urgency and clumsiness of youth, yet also with an immense reverence.
At some point, his arm had wrapped around her waist, pulling her tighter against him, as if trying to fuse her into his very being.
Su Yuqing’s body was stiff at first, but enveloped in his hot, resolute presence, in his unpracticed yet powerful kiss, her rigidity melted away like ice in spring.
A soft, muffled sound, almost a whimper, escaped her throat. It was like a feather brushing against Chen Mo’s heart.
Submissively, with a surge of reckless courage, she parted her lips and clumsily tried to respond to him.
After what felt like an eternity, just as Su Yuqing was about to run out of air, Chen Mo finally pulled back slightly...
Their lips parted. Su Yuqing slowly opened her eyes. Her cheeks were flushed a deep crimson, and her eyes, glistening with unshed tears, were filled with shyness and an immense, nearly overflowing happiness.
Chen Mo gently rested his forehead against hers, their breaths mingling. They could both feel the other’s fevered breathing and the frantic pounding of their hearts.
His deep eyes were inches away, a tempest of emotion churning within them, more dazzling than the golden fireworks had been.
Su Yuqing gasped for air, her cheeks the color of ripe apples. Her glistening eyes, however, were full of sweetness.
She didn’t dare to look at him, her long eyelashes trembling violently like the wings of a startled butterfly.
The golden rain of light flowed around them, bathing the two figures, lost in their kiss on the great rock, in a hallowed glow.
Chen Mo gazed at this new side of her—so breathtakingly lovely and yet so shy. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and a deeper, indescribable thrill swept through him.
He couldn’t stop himself from lowering his head again. This time, it wasn’t a test. With a gentle, confirming possessiveness, he peppered soft kisses on her lips and her burning cheeks. Each touch was filled with infinite tenderness and fervent love.
"Ngh..." The barrage of kisses made Su Yuqing’s whole body go weak. She instinctively shrank into his embrace, her hands clutching helplessly at the fabric of his shirt as if it were her only lifeline.
But that small movement completely incinerated the last of Chen Mo’s restraint.
He tightened his arms, pulling her deeper into his embrace. He claimed her lips again, kissing her deeply, with the greed of one tasting passion for the first time and a near-reverent abandon.
The night was gentle, the waves whispering their song.
Starlight illuminated the secluded strait, a silent witness as two young hearts finally broke free from their shackles. In a clumsy, fervent kiss, they came together without reservation, composing the most soul-stirring symphony of their lives.
Until—
"Ngh... Chen Mo..." Su Yuqing finally clawed back a sliver of strength from the drowning vortex of the kiss. Her small hand pressed lightly against his solid chest as she let out a muffled, pleading whimper. "...I... I can’t breathe..."
The pressure against his chest was as faint as a kitten’s paw, but it was like a splash of cool water, instantly jolting Chen Mo from the instincts that had almost completely taken over.
He froze, pulling his head back abruptly as if he’d been scalded, creating some distance between them.
His harsh panting sounded unnaturally loud on the silent cliff top.
Chen Mo’s chest heaved as he looked down at the woman in his arms.
Su Yuqing’s cheeks were flushed the color of a ripe peach. Her misty eyes gazed up at him with a hint of bashful accusation. Her lips, moist and alluring, were slightly parted as she gasped for air, her ample chest rising and falling with each breath.
The sight of her, so thoroughly and beautifully ravaged by him, made Chen Mo’s heart clench before it was flooded with immense sweetness and tenderness.
The dark undercurrents of passion had not yet subsided in his eyes, now a mixture of self-reproach and adoration.
"S-Sorry." His voice was terribly hoarse, thick with the remnants of passion and a hint of panic. He gently stroked her lower lip with his thumb, his touch as careful as if handling a priceless treasure. "I... Was I too rough? Did I hurt you?"
Su Yuqing shivered at his touch and shook her head, her voice barely a whisper. "...N-No, it didn’t hurt."
’It didn’t just not hurt...’ A pleasure she had never before experienced was blooming in her mind. It was just that the pleasure had come with a sense of suffocation that became too much for her to handle.
Chen Mo breathed a sigh of relief, but as he looked at her flushed lips and hazy eyes, the desire he had just suppressed began to stir once more.
