OMG! Tyrant's Pampered Baby Is a Valued Princess
Chapter 1445: Suddenly Looking Back, That Person Stands Where the Lights Are Dim
Evening.
After dinner, Zhi’er saw that it was still raining and felt a bit gloomy.
"Peng City truly deserves to be the capital of Yuzhou; this rain has been pouring since we arrived and hasn’t stopped yet. Oh, I wanted to see how bustling the city night market is."
Feng Fuce was reading a book beside her and put it down upon hearing her.
His gentle gaze was softened by the candlelight: "Going now? Peng City has a unique feature called ’Rain Boat Ride.’
Zhi’er’s eyes lit up: "Is it fun?"
Feng Fuce smiled: "Boat rides in the rain aren’t very amusing, but they have a certain elegance about them. Due to frequent rain, people in Yuzhou love to sail at night in the rain. Do you want to give it a try?"
Zhi’er sprang up: "Yes!"
Feng Fuce conveniently picked up a nearby light cloak: "Dress warmly, or we’re not going."
Zhi’er pouted.
The cloak belonged to Feng Fuce and she thought it was a bit heavy.
Besides, Feng Fuce was much taller than her, and wearing his cloak made her look like she draped a blanket over herself.
But Feng Fuce was firm in his stance, so Zhi’er had to relent.
Lei Hu drove the carriage, accompanied by two Xiu Luo Envoys, escorting Zhi’er and Feng Fuce together.
The carriage rumbled over cobblestones, while the rain outside pounded against the carriage boards with a crackling sound.
Zhi’er lifted the curtain to look outside.
The crowd wasn’t scarce; everyone was undeterred by the rain.
They moved back and forth with umbrellas, and there were plenty of vendors shouting under the umbrella canopies.
This scene appeared heartwarming despite the rain.
"Peng City is indeed quite different from the capital," Zhi’er sighed.
In the capital, as soon as it rains, everyone likes to stay indoors and is unwilling to venture out.
Zhi’er finished watching and planned to sit back down.
However, upon turning her head, she found Feng Fuce almost right behind her.
His slender hand was shielding her head.
To prevent the rain threads from wetting her hair when she lifted the curtain earlier.
Zhi’er noticed his attentive care.
Her heart skipped a beat, softly saying: "Thank you."
Feng Fuce raised an eyebrow and chuckled: "So polite with me? Isn’t it the time for you to act spoiled and work your magic?"
Zhi’er and he both returned to their seats, the young girl lifted her slender, fair neck, and petulantly hummed.
She said: "Saying thank you is part of a princess’s good manners. The next time you tease me, I’ll still act spoiled and fuss."
Feng Fuce’s deep and melodious voice carried a subtle hint of laughter.
"As you wish, however much you want to fuss, it’s fine." He said.
In indulging Zhi’er, Feng Fuce was even more excessive than Bai Xilie.
The carriage halted by Lanshan Lake.
Lei Hu held an umbrella, Feng Fuce took it from him.
He held it over Zhi’er’s head personally; they shared the umbrella.
Zhi’er’s eyes sparkled brightly, and she looked forward with excitement.
Rows of meandering corridors surrounded the lakeside.
Round orange lanterns hung under the corridors, emitting warm light in the rain.
Many citizens and tourists stood or sat in the corridors, laughing and chatting.
While on the lake touched lightly by rain, several flat boats decorated with lanterns seemed like a beacon in the night.
Couples stood together under umbrellas at the bow, enjoying the rain, while friends listened to the rain and played chess.
Truly the epitome of elegance!
Zhi’er loved it immensely.
"The atmosphere here is really wonderful. It feels like, suddenly turning back, that person is in the light of the lanterns!"
Feng Fuce glanced down at the young girl, his eyes full of affection.
He instructed Lei Hu: "Go rent a flat boat."
