Historian Wang was initially at a loss.

Upon hearing his disciples say this, his eyes suddenly lit up.

"Yes! That’s right! Praise her like this!" he exclaimed excitedly.

Historian Wang quickly walked to the table, pulled out a sheet of paper, and began to write vigorously.

"Let us praise her, for because of her, the Emperor smiles more; because of her companionship, the Emperor reviews more memorials each day; because of her, the Emperor’s mood is more stable!"

"She is the Emperor’s Jieyu flower, the gentle moonlight behind him, her existence truly deserves praise!"

Everyone was speechless, watching as Historian Wang wrote swiftly.

Clearly, he was quite angry when he left in the morning, insisting on maintaining the Empress’s status.

But after a trip, Historian Wang returned like this.

Privately, everyone whispered among themselves—

"This female officer is something else, not only can she win over the Emperor and Princess, but even a stubborn old mule like Historian Wang speaks for her."

Thus, the wind in the palace began to shift, and everyone believed it wouldn’t be long before the Emperor would have another favored concubine.

Naturally, Bai Zhi’er was unaware of everything happening in the palace.

By this time, she and Feng Fuce were already in the carriage heading to Yuzhou.

Feng Fuce had instructed Lei Hu to accompany two teams of plainclothes Xiu Luo Envoys.

He had also prepared many of Bai Zhi’er’s favorite pastries in advance.

As soon as Bai Zhi’er got into the carriage, she started snacking, and when tired, she would nap on his lap for a while.

The carriage traveled swiftly and steadily, and by the afternoon, they were already in Yuzhou territory.

Bai Zhi’er was sleeping soundly.

Feng Fuce lowered his gaze, watching the girl napping on his knee.

His well-defined hand gently covered her jet-black hair.

His deep, thin eyes looked at the shapely nose she had revealed, then moved down to her plump, full lips.

Throughout the journey, Bai Zhi’er was acting playfully and pretending to be sulky.

It was clear she was still accounting for him publicly mentioning their kiss.

Whenever he thought of her watery eyes expressing her shy annoyance, Feng Fuce couldn’t help but chuckle softly.

Bai Zhi’er stirred.

She heard the pattering rain outside the carriage window and couldn’t help but sit up.

Her watery eyes still drowsy, she looked around in confusion.

"Where are we?"

"We’ve entered Yuzhou. It’ll be less than an hour before we reach Peng City."

Bai Zhi’er rubbed her eyes and stretched out lazily.

The nap had been incredibly comfortable.

She opened the curtains and saw the heavy rain outside.

The misty rain painted the mountain path as if it were an ink wash painting.

Since the Xiu Luo Envoys were in plain clothes, only the ones riding wore raincoats, while the others were in the two carriages behind.

After watching for a while, water droplets collected on Bai Zhi’er’s hair.

Feng Fuce reached out and pulled her into his arms, raising his hand to gently wipe the rainwater from her dark hair.

He said casually, "So grown up, and still playing in the rain?"

Bai Zhi’er pouted and huffed defiantly, "I was just looking. They say Yuzhou’s Yu is the place where Yu the Great controlled the floods."

"So although it’s the closest to the capital, every time it rains in Yuzhou, it’s heavy and lasts long. I didn’t believe it at first, just read about it in books; now seeing it with my own eyes, it is indeed so."

"With such heavy rain, will we find an inn when we get into the city?"

Feng Fuce chuckled, "I’ve arranged it already. We’ll stay at my residence in Yuzhou."
