Omegaverse: Salted Fish Life in the Yaoi Novel
Chapter 110: Ch 110: Thinking State and Elaborate Plans
While a certain heir continued to stress over the strange, uneasy feeling that had suddenly overtaken her, Su Wanyan’s mind remained hard at work.
Okay. One problem solved, she thought, allowing the corner of her mouth to curl upward again. Now.. what to do about stealing Lin Xuanyu’s opportunities and giving them to Mo Xingxue....
She hummed softly under her breath as the internal debate continued, her eyes distant and unfocused.
Beside her, Mo Xingxue remained completely unfazed, as though she had long grown used to this particular mood. The cameraman standing with them, however, kept glancing between the two women with clear confusion and mild worry. Eventually he looked to Mo Xingxue for an explanation.
Mo Xingxue met his gaze with a small, fond smile and gestured lightly toward the humming Su Wanyan. "This is her thinking state," she said simply, a quiet tenderness coloring her voice.
The viewers immediately expressed their confusion.
[Huh? Elaborate, Mo Xingxue.]
[Yeah! Feed the people information!]
[Fr fr, especially us Su Wanyan fans as we only know limited things about her... Sigh....]
[LMAO, THE FANDOM IS THIRSTY!]
[Yeah, both my brain and.. mouth below is thirsty for Su Wanyan.]
[Excuse me.. what?]
[CAN WE KEEP THINGS PG HERE??]
While the PG Police tried to restore order in the chat, the cameraman tilted his head slightly. "Thinking state? What is that?" he asked, voicing the exact question currently flooding the live comments.
Mo Xingxue hummed softly and nodded. "Yeah. Thinking state," she repeated. "When she’s like this, it usually means she’s thinking about something serious or planning something." She gave a small, helpless shrug. "And when she’s deep in it, almost nothing can snap her out."
The cameraman let out a quiet "ahh," the concept finally clicking into place. Then, still curious, he glanced at the composed omega. "I assume you’ve seen her in this state before?" The moment the words left his mouth he already regretted the nosy question.
Instead of taking offense, Mo Xingxue only smiled and nodded. "Yeah. Plenty of times."
Her mind drifted back to one particular afternoon when she had found Su Wanyan standing stock-still in the middle of a busy sidewalk, humming and nodding to whatever conversation was happening inside her head.
In fact, this version of the thinking state had been calmer than usual. Most of the time, when Su Wanyan sank into this state, she would murmur fragments of whatever she was considering.
Right now, however, she was only humming and nodding—no words. That small difference told Mo Xingxue the current state was not the deepest one; it would not be impossible to pull her out if necessary.
Still, the memory of a more dangerous incident surfaced. Once, Su Wanyan had entered the thinking state while crossing a road and had nearly been hit by a car. Mo Xingxue had noticed just in time and yanked her out of the way.
What still unsettled her even now was the content of the quiet murmurs that day—phrases about the World’s Will, aura, and main characters.
When she had confronted Su Wanyan afterward, the alpha had only shrugged and claimed it was "just a plot." Mo Xingxue knew her alpha loved reading and had even mentioned wanting to try writing someday.
Yet if Su Wanyan had truly been working on a story, she would have shared it immediately. She never had. Still, Mo Xingxue chose not to pry. She trusted that Su Wanyan would tell her when the right time came.
Looking once more at the quietly humming alpha beside her, Mo Xingxue turned to the cameraman, raised her right index finger to her lips, and silently requested quiet so that Su Wanyan could continue thinking undisturbed.
Meanwhile, Su Wanyan—completely unaware of Mo Xingxue’s quiet protectiveness and the conversation happening around her—continued turning her problems over in her mind.
Sigh.. this is hard, she thought.
Mo Xingxue’s contract with her current company was ending soon; Su Wanyan could easily step in as her assistant for a full year. Why? Because she personally wanted to handle the work of diverting opportunities herself.
In her previous life she had become quite skilled at managing people and reading the room. But then there were the children. She did not want to leave them with a nanny. She wanted to spend real time with both of them.
Su Wanyan sighed again and rubbed her fingers against her temple.
I couldn’t just get a manager and agent for Mo Xingxue as one, I’m the only one who knows what’s going to happen, and two, I don’t want anyone asking me about the arrangements, Su Wanyan thought, lamenting her predicament. Her shoulders then slumped, making her look like an abandoned puppy. It’s not like I can bring the children with me....
Her thoughts suddenly paused.
Wait.. nobody told me I can’t bring the children!
Her eyes lit up. That’s right! And even if the rules technically forbade it, she was certain an exception could be made for Mo Xingxue. After all, her best friend was a two-time grand-slam actress. Su Wanyan puffed out her chest, a quiet surge of pride rising at the thought of Mo Xingxue’s achievements.
Using influence and authority was not ideal, but faced with this particular predicament, it was the only workable solution she could see.
She nodded to herself, satisfaction settling in. That’s done too.
Now.. the coincidental meetings with those big shots.
Her brows furrowed. She unconsciously crossed her arms, expression turning serious. This is the hardest part, she thought, gaze sharpening. Not only do I have to make every meeting look completely accidental, I also have to gain their genuine interest.
What she completely forgot was that the camera was still rolling. Every shift in her expression and body language was being captured and broadcast live.
The viewers, watching the intense, focused alpha, could not help themselves.
[Shit, she’s so hot.]
[Wow.... WOW!]
[She’s so fricking hot!]
[OH! Something fell between my legs.. it’s my panty y’all, don’t worry.]
[Su Wanyan, do you take alphas too? I don’t mind being the bottom for once.]
[AYO! SO WE TURNING GAY FOR SU WANYAN NOW?]
["We"???]
[LMAO! DON’T WORRY ABOUT THAT! I can understand y’alls sentiments, after all, whether you’re an omega or a beta, heck even an alpha, we’re all going to spread our legs wide open for Su Wanyan.]
[That’s... true. LMAO!]
[POLICE HERE! KEEP EVERYTHING PG HERE!]
[I like the view...]
[You do?]
[Yes!]
[You’re my best view...]
[...Nge.]
While the barrage descended into chaos and the PG Police fought to regain control—two viewers even launching into a sudden meme exchange—Su Wanyan suddenly gasped and struck her right palm with her left fist in dramatic realization.
That’s right! I can just bring the children too!
After thinking it through, the plan felt solid. She could claim she was simply taking the children out for a casual hangout, while in reality the outings would serve as cover for meeting the important figures. She was fully aware that using the children this way was a little despicable, yet there were only a handful of people she actually needed to approach.
Because, well, some of those "big shots" did not have clean hands. Su Wanyan had no desire to associate with those kinds of people, and she certainly would never allow them anywhere near her children. She huffed under her breath, anger flickering across her face.
Some of them can go screw themselves with Gu Chengze, she thought, disgust rising at the memory of certain crimes those individuals had committed.
After turning the last details over in her mind, Su Wanyan finally felt satisfied with the mental sketch she had created. She nodded once, firm and content, and the distant, unfocused look in her eyes faded. The thinking state dissolved.
When she lifted her head, the first thing she saw was the camera lens pointed directly at her face. Startled, she took an unconscious step backward.
"Woah!" she exclaimed, the sudden pitch-black eye of the camera had caught her completely off guard.
"I’m sorry for scaring you, Teacher Su!" the cameraman blurted, bowing at a perfect ninety-degree angle in panic.
Su Wanyan blinked, taken aback by the dramatic apology. She quickly stepped forward and gently guided him upright with both hands.
"Don’t be, don’t be!" she said, voice soft and warm. "It’s not your fault at all."
Her tone was sweet as honey yet carried the refreshing coolness of a summer breeze. Even so, the cameraman kept his head lowered a moment longer, still worried he might have crossed a line. Only after more gentle reassurance did he finally straighten fully, relief clear on his face that his job was safe.
Su Wanyan released a quiet breath of her own and turned toward Mo Xingxue. A bright, easy smile spread across her face.
"Want to look for the children?" she asked in her usual gentle, warm voice.
Mo Xingxue’s answering smile was soft and immediate. She nodded, then decisively reached out and took Su Wanyan’s hand. Without waiting, she began walking, clearly eager to regroup with their children.
Su Wanyan let herself be led without a single complaint. Excitement was already bubbling inside her at the thought of finally decorating the house and seeing Shen Guoxing’s and Mo Yan’s reactions—though she was fairly certain the baby would only answer with a stream of happy, incoherent babbles.
The simple image of that future made her smile even wider. In her mind she already saw a bright, peaceful life waiting for the four of them.
What she did not yet realize was that something would soon happen—something that would make her question the very nature of reality itself.
