Chapter 3050: True Covenant Between Demons and Dragons

  • Next Chapter

The aura around Adrian suddenly shifted to a different pressure that even the Daemos Elders and the Ancient Dragons felt oppressed. All of them had the power of a demigod level being and could even push it further to a lesser god if they wanted but they all felt it. They all wanted to kneel in front of the being before them as if he was a god above all.

The Ancient Dragons that thought that the young lord of Avalon was still a bit naive is actually hiding all of his strength. The ancient dragons now know why the gods might be wary of him but they were actually underestimating the young demon before them. If the god knew the pressure that the young demon is exuding right now then they would already form factions to try and erase him from existence.

"If none of you are going to object with what I say then why not form a True Covenant? I can be the witness of such a thing because I have the authority." Adrian stated as his form started flickering from his humanoid form to a slightly more chaotic form but it was quick that no one can truly capture it. Rather, no one can truly capture what he looks like because his divine true body has yet to fully take shape since he is still a demigod.

"A True Covenant?! You can issue a True Covenant!" The Ancient Dragon Aurum stated in shock as he also stood up abruptly because he could not believe a Noblesse can actually use an absolute pact that can only be granted by High Gods and above.

"Of course, I can issue a true covenant. I am not just the Champion of the Twin Gods but I am also the Ruler of Limbo and Mediator of Death. I have been fully qualified to mediate a True Covenant ever since I was appointed as the Mediator of Death. No one has just been asking for one which is why I have never issued one." Adrian stated honestly as he took a sip of tea from the teacup in front of him.

The Ancient Dragons are shocked and they thought that the Daemos Elders trapped them with the issue regarding the True Covenant but the latter group is also shocked when they heard. The Ancient Dragons looked at th Daemos Elders and could tell that even they did not know that their young lord could mediate a True Covenant. A True Covenant is not a simple and light matter because it is a powerful pact that can erase a transgressor from existence as punishment.

"Why have you not told us that you can do those?" Elder Ascalor asked while glaring at Adrian.

"No one really brought it up so naturally I did not bring it up as well." Adrian replied casually.

"Should we think this through, Aurum? A True Covenant is too much as we already have a covenant with the Daemos already." The Ancient Dragon Namtar stated with worry as a True Covenant is something that cannot be broken without damaging an entire race.

"I mean... all of you asked me for a solution to all of your bickering. What I have presented is the most ironclad solution where both races cannot just back off or break the covenant." Adrian stated.

"You are also a demon. If your side breaks the rules of the true covenant then you shall be affected as well." The Ancient Dragon Khah-yil stated.

"It seems that some of you are not very read in terms of the special laws regarding the True Covenant. I will be the mediator and shall be exempt from any punishment even if I am part of one of the races. I will be punished if I used the details of the True Covenant against the two races so I am still not entirely off the hook." Adrian argued.

"The Daemos are not backing down from this True Covenant and we will only accept handing rights to the Demon Eyes if one is settled. After all, the Demon Eyes is one of the most powerful artifacts that the Daemos have.

Handing over some control to the dragons is basically handing them ownership of our artifact. Unless the Dragons give us an artifact of equal value as collateral then we will only settle with a True Covenant." Elder Ascalor stated with a determined breath.

"We cannot just decide here and now. We should still convene with the other Ancient Dragons as this is a decision that will affect both races. For artifacts that can rival the Demon Eyes, the Daemos know full well that the dragons do not have something like that." The Ancient Dragon Namtar stated.

"But you actually do. It is not an artifact but something so precious that it also symbolizes the dragon race." Adrian stated.

"What artifact or treasure could actually measure to the Daemos’ Demon Eyes? We may be dragons that like to horde treasure but we do not have something as precious as like the Demon Eyes." The Ancient Dragon Khah-yil stated.

"The Body of the Dragon God Marduk." Adrian stated and all three of the Ancient Dragons suddenly released powerful killing intent which made the former smile.

"How do you know that, young lord? Even the Mother of Dragons do not know of that information so it certainly did not come from her." The Ancient Dragon Namtar stated with a glare.

"You do not need to be on guard about it because we do not covet it. We do not use corpses of divine gods anyways but it will be enough for a collateral." Adrian stated with utmost sincerity as he did not need that corpse anyway even if it is the body of a god.

As soon as the three ancient dragons heard what Adrian said with sincerity, all of their bloodlust vanished. If they did not calm down then the three Daemos Elders were ready to send the three ancient dragons to another dimension that would take them a month to come back from. Still, the Daemos Elders are shocked once again because they did not know that the child they raised is actually more capable than them when digging through other people’s dirt.

"Does that mean he has dirt on me as well and is just keeping quiet?" All Three Daemos Elders thought but decided to forget about it as they were still talking about the True Covenant.

"Even if we do have that thing that is of equal value, we cannot give that to the Daemos as collateral." The Ancient Dragon Aurum stated.

"Then hurry and just decide. We all know that the other ancient dragons are listening in on this conversation. So, what will it be?" Adrian stated as he looked at the dragonscale necklace on the Ancient Dragon Aurum’s neck.

"HAHAHAHA! It seems this old man’s tricks have all been seen through." The Ancient Dragon Aurum exclaimed with a laugh.

"All of us noticed it for some time now and were just courteous enough to ignore it out of respect." Elder Koronn stated as they already knew about the necklace but just kept quiet.

"Is that really so?" The Ancient Dragon Aurum asked.

"Yes. We should at least be warm to guests that do not trouble us after all." Elder Ascalor confirmed.

"We are very sensitive to motion after all and sound is also part of motion in a sense." Elder Bronx added.

"I just tuned out the ringing in my ears despite it being annoying to hear. That thing needs more signal or something." Adrian added.

"It seems that we were the ones discourteous and you were fine hosts. The Dragon Race shall do as you say then. We shall agree with the True Covenant." The Ancient Dragon Aurum stated with a bold declaration. The other two ancient dragons wanted to say something but the Ancient Dragon Aurum’s words are final since he is the leader of the ancient dragons.

"If that is the case then work the details of the True Covenant amongst yourselves and present it to me. Once both parties are happy then I shall make it take effect." Adrian stated as he conjured up paper for both parties.

The paper that Adrian conjured up were not ordinary paper but something made of Laws. This is his very first time using such concepts but the Daemos Elders and the Ancient Dragons gasped when they held it. The two parties would indeed gasp as a physical manifestation of the Laws of the Universe is not something one can just casually whip out.

Laws are the building blocks for a god after all since a divine domain is made up of Laws associated with a god. This is the true threshold for a demigod to become a god and anyone would want anything related to laws just to breakthrough. Just touching the paper conjured up by Adrian can actually boost the understanding of the two parties with regards to laws.

"Hurry up or else I will make you write in plain paper." Adrian grumbled as the two parties were too mesmerized.
