Chapter 3039: The Ascension Update

Adrian needed to double check what he got as a notification because he could not believe the last one. The entire area around him suddenly started to shake as the storm cloud walls started to falter. He was experiencing a dungeon erosion in real time and he was in the very middle of it. Fortunately for him, he was at the very peak of the dungeon and safe for the moment.

[The Storm Cloud Ravine has been cleared. The Forbidden Zone no longer has stability and will be dismantled.]

[The Storm Cloud Ravine is being unraveled. All beings inside the dungeon will be released.]

[Beware those that are inside the Storm Cloud Ravine and the areas below it.]

The world message has been triggered which made all of the players wonder on who managed to clear one of the Forbidden Zones that is also a singular dungeon. This was an event that has never been done before and a forbidden zone is actually getting dismantled. A dungeon being dismantled is a first for a world message as players know that dungeons are permanent things but this one was vanishing forever.

Adrian’s brain could be seen working overtime while he is watching all of the floating islands and trees fall down to the ground. It seems that the storm cloud wall that kept all of the monsters inside of the Storm Cloud Ravine is also responsible for everything to float using supercharged air. Since the storm cloud wall is vanishing, the effects that it has on the area is also vanishing along with it.

The fourth layer of the Storm Cloud Ravine could be seen being dismantled first as the thickest storm cloud wall vanished into nothingness. All of the floating island trees inside came crashing down towards the third layer. When the third layer storm cloud wall vanished, all of the things from the fourth layer came slamming down on it.

All of the monsters in the third layer that were still left were either killed, injured, or able to escape as they were near the edge as the storm cloud wall disappeared. The things from the fourth layer slammed everything into the third layer which literally crushed anything valuable in that layer. This also happened with the second and first layer as soon as the storm cloud wall vanished.

Adrian watched in real time how a large dungeon suddenly becomes ruins and how species of monsters turned extinct. Adrian could see that the monsters that were able to escape will need to fend harder in the wild as some might have only one species left. Then again, he did not expect that clearing this dungeon also accompanied its total destruction.

"The Wind Elementum actually held more power in this dungeon that I initially thought. It was actually the thing that made the dungeon core intact. A boss monster that acts as the core and strength of a dungeon is something that I have never encountered before. What will happen now?" Adrian muttered as he could not believe that such a thing is possible.

[Storm Cloud Ravine has been dismantled completely.]

[One of the seals of the Divine Barrier has been lifted.]

[The world is undergoing a change as divine energy is now being funneled with a clear flow.]

[All players will be expected to be logged out of the game in 10 minutes.]

[All dungeon and instance based progressed will be saved for the moment.]

World messages were sent out to all of the players but there were also system messages along with it. Adrian did not expect that the Storm Cloud Ravine is actually a disruptive entity in terms of the world’s flow of energy. It is basically something that lets the world lose energy and the order of the world’s flow is restored upon its dismantling.

"I suddenly do not know if I did something good or bad" Adrian stated as he is logged out of the game before he could process anything as the update has already started.

It was not just Adrian that is logged out as all of the players were also sent outside of their gaming pod. All of the players in the world started buzzing as it has been a long time since the last major update. They did not expect that another update is in session as it usually takes one year for another update to happen. All of the players speculated that the update is due to the action of a player or players relating to clearing the Storm Cloud Ravine.

The entire game forums were buzzing with discussions on who cleared the Storm Cloud Ravine. Some players that knew of the Storm Cloud Ravine started saying that it should not be anyone in the ranking at the moment. They said that some players that reached the third layer of the Storm Cloud Ravine were dealing with monsters in the 450s.

Adrian was reading all of the forum discussions and did not expect that there were a sizeable people that know of the third layer. This means that it was a dungeon that is known to be difficult and that it was never cleared before because they have never reached the fourth layer. Adrian then thanked the players that were there before them which made their journey on the third layer much easier.

"If they ever come to me for compensation because they got caught in that powerful one hit attack with us then I can at least give them a hundred gold." Adrian stated as he was doing his light workout and chatting with Frey on what happened.

Adrian and Frey immediately caught up as soon as he was sent out of the gaming pod. He told everything that happened. They were also having a chat about the players speculating in the forums on who conquered the dungeon. The speculation was that there were players that were above level 450 that do not belong in the leaderboard that cleared it. The hidden masters as they call it but they would probably lose their minds if Adrian admitted that it was him and Frey.

"What do you think the updates will have? It has already been six hours since the forced logout but there are still no patch notes in the Pandemonium website. Everyone is going nuts on what the updates are because it seems to take at least one day." Frey stated as they were still chatting throughout the day.

"Even I have no clue but I fear that there must be something related to dungeons. Remember the list that I sent you on the items that dropped when we defeated the Impundulu Ventus. One of them is actually a dungeon core! This is not an item that should appear in the lore as dungeons are said to be natural phenomena. I was too busy watching the Storm Cloud Ravine being dismantled that I did not even check the item definitions. Sorry about that." Adrian stated.

"You do not need to apologize for not seeing the item description. The video you recorded and sent to me with the dungeon being dismantled is really immersive. Even I would have been stunned while observing everything around me crumbled. It was a good thing that you were safe or else you would have died if you were not able to fly." Frey stated as both of them continued the conversation until night came for one of them.

Adrian was not even fully awake when all of his friends started blasting through his holoswatch. All of them were telling him to gather in his virtual home. It seems that the promotion video for the update for Pandemonium has been posted and all of them agreed that they will watch it together. He told them to wait five more minutes but his door suddenly flung open as Mina tickled him into waking up.

"It seems sleeping beauty finally decided to join us." Levin Cloud teased as Adrian could be seen sitting down as the video started to play.

[Pandemonium: The Ascension Update]

The video started with all of the people looking up at the sky as a large storm cloud swirling endlessly started to fall apart. This was Storm Cloud Ravine being destroyed and a figure of a demon could be seen vanishing when everything inside of it fell apart. Adrian could only cough as he saw his dark silhouette but the view suddenly change as the world was viewed from outer space.

The entire world was covered in runes that were now flowing perfectly and the world itself looked like it was healing. The scene then shifted next to numerous divine realms manifesting outside of the world and looking down on it. All powerful divine realms that represented the gods are creating golden stairs towards the world. The silhouette of numerous gods stepping out of the divine realms and descending via the stairs appeared before everything went to black.
