Chapter 2955: The Ruins of Etna IV

"We already descended to the sixth floor and we have yet to see anything strange other than us being trapped in this dungeon." Lyaeus, the Champion of Dionysus, stated as he has grown bored of defeating the monsters that are coming up towards them.

If the first floor featured ant monsters and the second floor featured boar monsters then the succeeding floors have also different monsters. The third floor of the Ruins of Etna featured monsters that are serpentine in shape but they have different features as if they evolved. Some had legs while having no arms, while others have arms but no legs. It was a bizarre dungeon floor but the four Champions of Olympus managed to tackle it.

The fourth floor is where they encountered monsters that can take flight which are large eagles that is the same size as that of a human. The boss monster there is basically a large eagle monster that is twice the size of a normal sized one. They were able to defeat the fourth floor mini-boss because of Diane. As the Champion of the Goddess of the Hunt, dealing with flying enemies are not much of a problem for her.

The fifth floor is where things became a bit strange since the monsters there were large lions that cannibalized each other for food. It seems that their behavior became warped when there is no other source of food in a dungeon after all. In the end, they did not have much trouble in this floor as the mini-boss was a large white lion that is being fought by a pride of other monster lions.

The Champions of Olympus just waited for their opportunity to deal with the weakened mini-boss. They did think that the Primordial Calamity Typhon would have the ability to control the monsters but it seems their worries were laid to rest when they encountered the lion monsters fighting against each other. If the Primordial Calamity Typhon was able to control even the monsters in the dungeon, then he would have told them to kill the Champions of Olympus instead of fighting each other.

When the Champions of Olympus reached the sixth floor, this is where they found themselves in a circumstance that they found odd. They are already adventuring for at least half an hour in this floor but they have not encountered any other monster. They were all wondering where the monsters went as they should at least encounter at least one. They were also following the tracking relic’s directions so they should have encountered at least one monster.

The location of the sixth floor is different as it is not a wide open space but something like a labyrinth with wide corridors. They do not have any idea of what monsters might be in this place which is why they are being cautious as the strength of the monsters actually become stronger per floor. They were just lucky on the previous floor earlier as the mini-boss was ganged up on and they only swooped in but the same cannot be said on this floor.

"We are nearing the location where the mini-boss is. Maybe this floor is just a wide labyrinth that has no other monster except for the mini-boss." Melaina, the Champion of Demeter, stated but Diane does not believe such a thing.

"If that were the case then the other floors should have been the same. This cannot be true as the closer one is to the area where the Primordial Calamity Typhon is sealed then the more monsters should be present. It is his miasma that is creating the monsters after all which means there should be a surge of monsters and more mini-boss monsters." Diane, the Champion of Artemis, stated as this was told by her patron goddess.

The Goddess of the Hunt Artemis told her that the floors near the Primordial Calamity Typhon would have more than one mini-boss monsters. The scenario would be defeating any one of them will create the passage to the next floor. The worst case scenario would be all mini-boss monsters being on the same area and not being hostile with one another. This scenario occurred back then and the Olympian Gods basically sent demigods to their deaths as a result.

"That thing could not happen right? You said that you only detected one presence." Nomios, the Champion of Hermes, asked as he knows how troublesome numerous mini-boss monsters are. They will not be able to defeat one unscathed as there are only four of them.

"I only detected one which is strange which is why I told all of you to be prepred. The signal should be coming from that direction." Diane, the Champion of Artemis stated.

"Relax. If it makes to feel any better then I shall be the one to go in first. I can tell you that nothing would be dangerous as long as you have me around." Lyaeus, the Champion of Dionysus, stated as he stepped forward and peeked to the corner as the monster should be at the other side.

Lyaeus believed that he would be able to deal with this one mini-boss as he has yet to show his full fighting prowess. He stepped forward believing that he will not be killed in one hit as he knows how tough his defenses are. He confidently stepped forward to show them that everything is fine but his body right arm suddenly got sliced from his body.

Diane immediately went into battle mode and commanded Melaina to protect Lyaeus inmmediately. Melaina complied instantly as her danger sense flared up as she created four layers of barrier that represented the four seasons. Nomios went to work immediately as well as he fetched the sliced arm of Lyaeus and used healing magic to connect it back before he died from blood loss.

"Strange. I thought this was one of the forbidden zones and not being monitored by any faction." A voice that is somewhat familiar to Diane stated as she looked towards the direction where that voice came from.

"Eldritch!" Diane, the Champion of Artemis, stated as she knew who this madman was.

"Ohoh! It seems someone can recognize me here." Eldritch stated as he is currently on top of a monster that looks like a combination of different monsters patched together.\

"Why are you here?! This place is under the jurisdiction of the Olympian Gods. Do you want to go to war against them?" Diane stated as she knew that Eldritch is the most powerful of all the Followers of the Dark Gods but he also moves for his own benefit than theirs as well.

"Why should I say anything to four weaklings? I do not owe an explanation to you when I am currently researching monsters." Eldritch stated.

"It was you. You were the one that cleared the monsters on this floor." Diane stated as she pieced together what happened.

The regeneration rate of the Ruins of Etna is fast compared to other dungeons which is why it is located in a forbidden zone. If Eldritch was on this floor for at least a day, then the monsters he defeated on the floors above would have respawned in three hours. Even a mini-boss would be generated in that time as that is the unique property of this dungeon that siphons energy from the Primordial Calamity Typhon.

"He does not know that the Primordial Calamity Typhon is sealed in this dungeon, right? If he does then is he thinking of unsealing him? Still, the Followers of the Dark Gods should know that even the dark gods and distorted gods hate the Primordial Calamity Typhon. The powers of the Primordial Calamity Typhon can render any god powerless and that also includes foreign divinity after all." Diane, the Champion of Artemis, thought.

"If you leave now then we will forget that you have entered our faction’s territory." Diane, the Champion of Artemis, stated as she wants Eldritch to get out of here while he has yet to know what this dungeon is.

Diane wants Eldritch out of the dungeon as he might be able to release parts of the seal of the Primordial Calamity Typhon. The Olympian Gods told them that breaking the seals should be impossible for one person but Eldritch is not an ordinary player. He alone can do more damage to a city by just himself. This is one of his feats when he just became a Follower of the Dark Gods back then. He destroyed a city by himself by partially summoning a dark god on it.

"He is too much of a variable to let loose here. Fortunately, he seems to be researching the monsters on this floor instead of heading deeper." Diane, the Champion of Artemis, thought but there are people in her group that would beg to differ.

"Do you think that I will let that bastard leave here when he sliced my arm?!" Lyaeus stated as his anger has reached the maximum as he was basically embarrassed by Eldritch.
