Chapter 2762: The God of Thunder Thor’s Death

The battle between the World Serpent Jormungandr and the God of Thunder Thor shook the very ground before them. The fight is not something even those at the lesser god rank can participate in. Foolish ones and the unlucky ones caught in the battle are either flattened to meat paste or obliterated by lightning. The ones that are fortunate enough to escape early found themselves poisoned from light to severe.

The World Serpent Jormungandr would even coil its body over and over just to hit the God of Thunder Thor. The God of Thunder Thor would not go down without a fight though as he released numerous lightning arcs throughout the body of the World Serpent Jormungandr. The large body of the World Serpent Jormungandr is easy enough to bathe in lightning as the world serpent did not even bother to dodge.

The World Serpent Jormungandr might have great regeneration but the lightning that the God of Thunder Thor released have divine properties. Even a world beast like the World Serpent Jormungandr cannot withstand pure divine energy when launched against it. The healing of the World Serpent Jormungandr could be seen to have been significantly slowed down.

“Foul Beast! Spit out my beloved!” The God of Thunder Thor shouted as he has already lost his mind.

The sudden death of the Goddess of Earth Sif has already broken the mind of even the most powerful warrior of Asgard. The God of Thunder Thor believed that he would not have any loss because he was strong and his father was strong. He might not look like it but he has grown arrogant to believe that there is no one that could deal with Asgard. Arrogance that was born from power is something that could taint even the most valiant of warriors after all.

The World Serpent Jormungandr is not in a good shape as well because the hits that the God of Thunder Thor is using have already taken toll on its large body. The health of the World Serpent Jormungandr might be incredibly large but that does not mean that it cannot be killed. The God of Thunder Thor has already submitted to his madness and is already depleting even his divine soul.

The World Serpent Jormungandr would fall sooner or later and the God of Thunder Thor will make sure of it. The God of Thunder Thor would have a better chance of defeating the World Serpent Jormungandr if it worked with the other gods in Asgard but he has already lost his mind. The other gods that tried to help him were all caught in his devastating lightning field and injured.

The reason why the rise in divine energy of the God of Mischief Loki is due to the fact that the God of Thunder Thor is also having friendly fire. The area where the World Serpent Jormungandr and the God of Thunder Thor is not small as well. Each of their exchanges would change terrains and destroy everything around. One could destroy the earth and flatten it while the other rains lightning from the sky that scorches the land.

Even the players that wanted some of the experience from killing the World Serpent Jormungandr are not spared. All of the players that thought that they can get something from the fight of the two became particles of light in the matter of seconds. It did not take long for all of the players to immediately run away upon seeing the World Serpent Jormungandr and the God of Thunder Thor fight.

The fight between the World Serpent Jormungandr and the God of Thunder Thor is not valiant or chivalrous. It is the fight between a monster and a god that can devastate any area they fight in. One of their exchanges even happened near the walls of Asgard and that entire section got demolished in an instant. This the first time that the players have truly seen what destruction a battle with numerous gods are like.

The God of Thunder Thor suddenly sensed the wisp of his father’s soul vanish. The most powerful being that he knows and looks up to has perished in this battle. The God of Thunder Thor might have gone mad but there was still a sliver of conscience in his mind. This is the reason why the God of Thunder Thor has not become fully mad as this part of him is keeping him grounded.

The only problem is that the thing that held the madness at bay has vanished. The God of Thunder Thor finally snapped. The body of the God of Thunder Thor suddenly experienced changes as his lightning that was already dark in color finally turned black. His eyes also became purely black as his skin turned into a dusk gray shade. The God of Thunder Thor has truly become mad and no longer part of the gods that can think properly.

The Mad God of Thunder Thor exploded in black lightning but the World Serpent Jormungandr did not just watch. The perfect chance has finally arrived for the World Serpent Jormungandr to devour the thunder god. With a large gulp, the World Serpent Jormungandr devoured the Mad God of Thunder Thor in one lunge. There was not even resistance from the other party as he got swallowed.

The World Serpent Jormungandr looked happy as his acids will definitely dissolve even gods but he suddenly released a scream. The World Serpent Jormungandr screamed for the first time since it appeared. Large amounts of black lightning suddenly came out of the opened mouth which erased the loud screams of the World Serpent Jormungandr.

The World Serpent Jormungandr started flailing about as he started to hit its body as if it is trying to pick a bone stuck on his throat. The World Serpent Jormungandr even utilized its large tail to strike at his throat but the black lightning did not end. The World Serpent Jormungandr suddenly felt something amiss as the black lightning suddenly stopped.

The clouds above the area where the World Serpent Jormungandr and the Mad God of Thunder Thor were fighting suddenly became dark and pitch black. The loud sound of thunder rumbled which could easily destroy the ears of those that hear them. The dark clouds suddenly released the punishment of the heavens as a large curtain of black lightning poured down on the World Serpent Jormungandr.

The World Serpent Jormungandr tried to evade and even dig underground but it could not do so. Something was keeping its head afloat and that is none other than Mjolnir levitating inside the throat of the World Serpent Jormungandr. In the end, the World Serpent Jormungandr could not hide underground and is hit by the most powerful bolt of black lightning that emerged as the last bolt before the clouds dissipated.

[The World Serpent Jormungandr has been killed.]

The World Serpent Jormungandr’s head crashed to the ground as it no longer has any life. The lifeless body of the World Serpent Jormungandr did not dissipate or turn into items. It merely stayed where it is as it is a world boss. The death of his brother made the World Boss Fenrir Unchained to howl in agony as he came close to his brother’s corpse.

The head of the World Serpent Jormungandr suddenly started to move which made the World Boss Fenrir Unchained to growl at the entity emerging from it. Just as expected, the entity that emerged from the head is none other than the Mad God of Thunder Thor. The Mad God of Thunder Thor no longer held the aura of a fighter upon exiting the World Serpent Jormungandr. He looked like a drained old man that had saggy muscles because he has been poisoned by the World Serpent Jormungandr.

“Let him walk.” The God of Mischief Loki stated as the Mad God of Thunder Thor faced his direction and walked. He stopped the World Boss Fenrir Unchained from doing anything to the God of Thunder Thor as his last grace for a dying god.

“I did it, my love.” The God of Thunder Thor muttered as he took nine steps before falling to the ground and turning into particles of light.

[The God of Thunder Thor has perished.]

[The new leader of the Asgard Faction has been transferred to the God of Mischief Loki.]

“Finally! All authority is mine!” The God of Mischief Loki shouted in joy but the World Boss Fenrir Unchained looked disgusted by his father’s antics.

“Father, your son has just died. You have the audacity to celebrate?!” The World Boss Fenrir Unchained stated as he glared at the God of Mischief Loki.

“Do not worry, my son. I have taken your brother’s divine soul. We can revive him as long as your sister will cooperate.” The God of Mischief Loki declared even though he knows that the Goddess of Death Hel is now incredibly angry with him.
