While Eldritch and Tai were fighting each other, the High Star Spawn has already started to look for the Black Tortoise of the North. The High Star Spawn did not need to search for long because a powerful blast of water suddenly hit it from below. The water that erupted then turned chilly as it became pure ice that trapped the High Star Spawn.
The High Star Spawn became trapped in ice which Levin Cloud and the others could see. At the very edge of the city filled with mist, two glowing black eyes could be seen piercing the mist. The two black eyes are then joined by two green glowing eyes that is just next to it. Levin Cloud and Peridot felt the powerful presence inside that mist as those eyes were then directed to them.
“It’s the Black Tortoise of the North.” Grand Master Fu Xi stated but the ice tower that trapped the High Star Spawn started to shake.
The eyes that were looking at them suddenly shifted to the ice pillar that shattered. The High Star Spawn suddenly shot out of the frozen pillar and flew directly towards the Black Tortoise of the North. As if the Black Tortoise of the North already knew what the High Star Spawn will do, shards of mist suddenly turned into ice spears that were all sent towards the alien creature.
The High Star Spawn did not even slow its pace down as its tentacled body suddenly transformed into a spear tip via rearranging its tentacles. The High Star Spawn then spun like a drill to create a slight weak vortex around it. The ice spears that were sent towards the High Star Spawn were all destroyed upon clashing with its spinning body. The spinning High Star Spawn did not stop even though lots of ice spears were coming towards it.
Seeing that its enemy is not being stopped, the Black Tortoise of the North suddenly stomped its foot onto the ground which made the entire city shake. The Black Tortoise of the North could suddenly be seen as the mist around it became pure water. The water then exploded in all directions which knocked the High Star Spawn back, but it also flooded the entire city along with it.
“Alien abomination! Leave this place at once!” The Black Tortoise of the North shouted as two voices could be heard.
The Black Tortoise of the North could finally be seen in all his glory as it was a large turtle with a pure back shell. It has a gray skin tone that also has black scales on soft parts of its body. The other thing to notice is the snake body coming out from its tail area and is also wrapped around its black shell. The snake also has pure black scales that emit a powerful frost as there are hints of frost energy from the Black Tortoise of the North’s body.
“KUWAAHH!” The High Star Spawn screeched as if it replied to the taunt of the Black Tortoise of the North.
The High Star Spawn knew that its current body could not defeat the Black Tortoise of the North. It then proceeded to actually pierce its chest out and dig one of its hearts out. The heart that looked like mass of flesh that pulsated is then crushed by the High Star Spawn. Upon crushing its own heart, the High Star Spawn suddenly gained double its current power, and its body suddenly became bigger.
The High Star Spawn became half as big as the current size of the Black Tortoise of the North which is already the size of a ten-story building. The increase in size of the High Star Spawn also accompanied changes in its physique. The humanoid shape suddenly became hunched as robust appendages appeared made with tentacles encased in hard shell.
“KAAAHHH!” The High Star Spawn shouted as its mouth now became pure teeth and tentacles that opened up in eight different directions.
The High Star Spawn also achieved a new ability and that is to use sonic attacks that can weaken dimensions. The Dimension Screech could even force out beings that are hidden in another dimension which the Black Tortoise of the North did not find good. The Dimension Screech that the High Star Spawn used managed to destroy all the mist in Black City. With the mist protection gone, the residents that the Black Tortoise of the North hid have been revealed all of a sudden.
The Black Tortoise of the North seeing that its citizens were suddenly returned to this dimension became angry as it was very loyal and loving to all beings under it. The Black Tortoise of the North could not let the High Star Spawn live any longer because of its ability that can counter it. The Black Tortoise of the North opened its mouth or rather opened both of its mouths to blast the High Star Spawn directly with two different elemental energies.
The Black Tortoise of the North’s turtle head blasted the High Star Spawn with a water cannon while its snake head blasted it with absolute zero frost energy. The High Star Spawn saw the attack of the two enemy heads and also tried to replicate it. It was not just the High Star Spawn’s mouth that opened but also its upper torso opened up like a blooming flower.
The High Star Spawn then proceeded to blast the Black Tortoise of the North with a full power Dimensional Screech. The two attacks of the powerhouses collided with one another and created a powerful aftermath that affected the side where the High Star Spawn was. When the explosion of energy happened, it was the High Star Spawn that lost in terms of raw power. Half of the city became a frozen wasteland as all of it was covered in ice.
It was not just the buildings that were frozen all over because even the large High Star Spawn is once again encased in ice. Even with its enemy encased in ice, the Black Tortoise of the North knew that its alien abomination of an enemy is not yet dead. The Black Tortoise of the North is a being that can detect death and the High Star Spawn before him has yet to truly die.
“Fu Xi, my friend.” The Black Tortoise of the North suddenly sent a telepathic message to Grand Master Fu Xi.
A white ice sphere suddenly exploded and revealed Grand Master Fu Xi with Levin Cloud and Peridot. They were also caught in the attack earlier, but Grand Master Fu Xi defended them. The telepathic message was only supposed to be sent to Grand Master Fu Xi, but Levin Cloud and Peridot were also given the message. It was more of targeted area telepathy than a targeted person telepathy.
“What do you need from me, my friend?” Grand Master Fu Xi replied.
“I want you to promise me that you will lead all of my people out of this place. They cannot withstand the fight between me and the alien abomination. You must protect them at all costs while I deal with the alien.” The Black Tortoise of the North stated.
“I came here to aide you against battle, my friend. I care not for the lives of the mortals that you protect because your death will cause more harm than good.” Grand Master Fu Xi stated but the Black Tortoise of the North sent a reply only to him which the former reacted with a shocked expression.
“What did the Black Tortoise of the North say?” Peridot asked Levin Cloud.
“I do not know. We are no longer part in the conversation.” Levin Cloud replied.
Before Levin Cloud and Peridot could ask, the frozen High Star Spawn suddenly started to melt the ice. The High Star Spawn was expending its own life to heat up its surroundings like it was a sun. When the High Star Spawn could now move a bit, its tentacled body suddenly burst with power as it destroyed the ice that trapped it. The Black Tortoise of the North was not going to let the enemy have any time for respite as the former blasted the High Star Spawn with a powerful blizzard.
The High Star Spawn did the unthinkable again and pierced its chest once again. Another pulsating mass of black flesh is taken out and crushed for its own nourishment. The High Star Spawn consumed one of its hearts again but that only left it with one as the it only has three hearts. The changes of the High Star Spawn are now more drastic than ever.
The High Star Spawn grew into a colossal that matched the height of the Black Tortoise of the North. Not only that, but it had also forgone the humanoid shape as it now stood up via its six appendages made of tentacles and shells. Its large head no longer has the humanoid touch as it looked like a mix between a whale and a shrimp with tentacles surrounding its lower jaw.
