Official Son-in-Law and the Beautiful Lady Fragrance
Chapter 2368 - 2368:
When these words came out of someone else's mouth, they would have sounded like golden advice, or heartfelt talk.
But when Zhang Xiaoyang said this to Liu Zhizhong, no matter how he listened, it just sounded like mockery.
In fact, Zhang Xiaoyang really was mocking him.
On the surface, Liu Zhizhong pretended not to notice, and even added, "Forget it, let's not talk about this. Life and death are fated, wealth and honor are in heaven. We'll just take it one step at a time! County Head Zhang, thank you for finding such a great spot so we can spend a different kind of weekend here."
After he finished, he put down his skewer and even raised a cup of liquor to toast Zhang Xiaoyang!
Zhang Xiaoyang also raised his glass in response, saying polite words on the surface, while thinking to himself: You brat, you hit the south wall and still won't turn back, then don't blame the Southeast Region if it can't accommodate you in the future, heh heh…
In fact, Zhang Xiaoyang had already made up his mind. Since you dared to reject my grandpa's request, you're basically asking for death. Now that I have the chance to kick you while you're down, I definitely won't be too polite.
When it came to potential opponents and threats in his political career, Zhang Xiaoyang saw them very clearly, and he was capable of doing some ruthless things.
After the skewers were finished, everyone was a little tipsy.
They drank a bit of juice to sober up, then each went to sleep.
In Zhang Xiaoyang's Unimog RV, the two beauties slept in the master bedroom, and Zhang Xiaoyang slept on the sofa outside, which was also extremely comfortable.
As for Liu Zhizhong, he of course went back to his vehicle. He didn't even need to pitch a tent; he just reclined the passenger seat completely flat—flat as a board, wide and spacious, soft and comfortable. In the cool breeze of an early summer night, he could sleep soundly and solidly.
In a place like this, such a rare scenic wonderland—quiet and natural—having a good sleep was no problem at all.
Lately, Liu Zhizhong had been a bit troubled. Because the organization would come looking for him sooner or later.
He lay down and went straight to sleep, not even needing to set an alarm.
Because Liu Zhizhong planned to go up above the downstream dam not far from here tomorrow, to fish for a whole day and relax a bit. It would also count as scouting a wild fishing spot for Yu Haiping.
This place, due to transportation issues, was visited by very few Fishing Men. During dinner earlier, Liu Zhizhong had even specially checked the satellite map.
If the exploratory fishing went well, it would essentially give Yu Haiping another wild-fishing survival location! This area didn't fully belong to Heiya Mountain Forest Park; it was more like the border nearby, and truly very few people could get here.
If it were used as a wilderness survival site, it would be just perfect.
As for transportation to get here, that was nothing to worry about. Yu Haiping had long since upgraded his gear; he'd specifically bought an F-150, added a bed cap, and turned it into a super wild-fishing rig!
The road conditions here were bad, but they really couldn't stop Yu Haiping's F-150! On weekends, Liu Zhizhong could still come over and accompany Yu Haiping to livestream fishing, continuing to stabilize the company account's popularity!
At six o'clock the next morning, his biological clock woke Liu Zhizhong right on time.
He got up, took some simple gear, and set off toward his destination. Anyway, it was less than two hundred meters away, so it was quite quick.
In the early summer morning, just after six, the horizon had only just begun to lighten like a fish belly.
He followed the stream toward the downstream side, walking across the grass where there was no path; walking there simply made it into a path.
The grass under his feet still held the night's cool dampness, soft and springy, each step like treading on a green velvet carpet.
Dewdrops clung to the blades of grass, and in the dim light they were like tiny diamonds, sparkling with a charming glow; if he wasn't careful, they would soak his pant legs.
It was rather quiet all around. Now and then a crisp birdsong rang out once or twice, cutting through the still morning sky and adding a touch of serene elegance.
A light breeze brushed past, carrying the fresh scent of vegetation and the fragrance of earth, straight into his lungs.
Liu Zhizhong took a deep breath. The fresh air instantly filled his chest, making his spirits lift.
He slowed his steps, fully enjoying this leisurely moment, as if he had fused with nature itself.
Amid this picturesque morning scenery, he walked forward joyfully, step by step, looking forward to the fishing trip that was about to begin.
Before long, when he was only fifty or sixty meters above the dam, upstream, Liu Zhizhong found a nice fishing spot.
On the stream bank lay a huge fallen poplar, its trunk so thick that an adult couldn't wrap their arms around it.
The massive branches of the poplar sprawled across the bank; it was the kind that had been knocked over by floodwaters, its huge umbrella-like crown with nearly half of it in the water, forming a large area of fallen-tree obstacles.
In a place like this, as long as you were careful when casting so you didn't snag underwater branches you couldn't see, you were guaranteed to catch plenty of fish, and big ones would show up too.
After all, this area of underwater fallen branches was a rare obstacle zone. And the poplar wasn't dead; the branches above the water were still covered in lush leaves!
When Liu Zhizhong went over, quite a few birds flew out from those branches and leaves.
Birds roosted here, and the droppings they produced were excellent food for fish.
Not to mention the little bugs in the foliage—those were also great food for the fish!
As a skilled angler, how could Liu Zhizhong not see that this place was an absolute god-tier fishing spot?
He leveled out the grass by the fallen tree, then tested the water depth—perfect!
With a 6.3-meter rod cast out, it hit a drop-off at about 2.8 meters deep, and it was a second drop-off.
What's a second drop-off?
It meant that right at Liu Zhizhong's feet, by the water's edge, there was the first underwater slope, about two meters deep; go out another three meters or so and you hit the second slope, reaching a depth of around 2.8 meters.
Right beside this spot, less than a meter and a half away, was where the fallen poplar's submerged branches were thickest, on Liu Zhizhong's left.
So on his right, Liu Zhizhong scattered a small ladle of mixed liquor-soaked grain as ground bait—liquor rice, plus sorghum, wheat, and corn.
That would do. In the early morning, fish are very active and will swim out of the safe obstacle zone under the fallen tree to forage around. This is called cruising for food, and they follow this fixed route every day.
The baited spot was about three meters downstream of the fallen tree.
But the place Liu Zhizhong planned to put in his hook was not in the baited area itself, but in the zone between the ground bait and the fallen tree, namely where he'd found that depth change.
This is what a real fishing master does: not fishing in the baited spot, but on the edge of the bait, in the middle between the bait and the safe obstacle zone—ingenious.
Wild fish love a sense of security. They come out of the obstacle zone to feed, and if there's danger, they can dart back into cover as fast as possible. That's the basic survival strategy for fish, especially big ones.
Big fish are even more interesting; they almost never enter the baited spot itself, they just circle around the edges of the bait, heh heh… What Liu Zhizhong intended to catch were exactly these hesitant, circling big guys!
After he'd put in the ground bait, Liu Zhi checked the time—it was 6:50 a.m.—so he decided not to cast yet and to go back and fix breakfast first.
