Chapter 2081: Against the Tides Of Orcs -Part 3
Even as the blob of living mass was still floating above them, they continued to battle against the Star Foxes' necromancies and spirit magic. Undead Dune Shell Orcs were seen eating the flesh of living and they slowly corrupt the minds of those whom they had bitten. Some were resistant against a bite but can they survive if it is more than just once?
The Star Foxes did that mainly due to the fact that they knew they would not have enough magic power to create new ones. But what if their existing undead can assist in the creation of new ones? That way, they did not need to waste magic in creating new undead and focused on creating stronger undead instead.
Instead of zombified Dune Shell Orcs, the Star Foxes who finally have the space for a breather were able to create undead from the Shells those Orcs had been wearing. They used the genes from those shells to recreate something more horrifying and in the heart of it, they used the Orc's characteristics to form those undead monsters. Stay updated via
From worms with orcs' hands as its series of legs to humanoids armed to the teeth with the hard carapace that could not be pierced even with a standard penetrative spell bullet. All of these variations were also reinforced by the spirit magic that the Star Fox Mages were playing with.
By dragging the souls of the orcs and merging them together, the density of the souls inserted into those undead monsters became a pinnacle of horror that was capable of handling dozens of Orcs in one dash.
More of those came out and pushed the attacking Dune Shell Orcs away from the forest, giving the Star Fox Mages finally some grip in this attrition of war. At the same time, they felt that that massive blob of unliving mass was somewhat giving emitting condensed mana into the air, allowing the Star Fox Mages to regain their magical powers with ease.
They had no idea how Kraft did it but with each breath despite the stench of blood and fecal matter, the air they breathed in was able to recharge their bodies to go for the extra mile.
However, deep down they all knew that Kraft was not a nice person, creating a mana converter right in front of them to regain their magical powers just like that. There was something particular about that blob of unliving mass and even those who wielded high levels of necromancy magic felt that particular thing should not even exist.
Yet, the longer it stayed on the battlefield, it felt like the Dune Shell Orcs were weakening and their newly formed undead troops were gaining traction against the invaders. It was to the point where they felt it might be possible to not just gain time, but also turn the tide with this blob of unliving mass hovering above them.
Still, with that kind of expectation in their minds, it was like dancing at the tip of a knife that could end one's life and that was what happened when those Elite Hell Orcs decided the mass was a problem that they needed to clear before advancing forward. Thus, with their powers, they had decided to summon a Demon Lord in hopes that it could be used to destroy the mass with its presence.
The Demon Summoning Circle emerged right beneath them and the Dune Shell Orcs who were unfortunately within the range were considered as sacrifices, summoning a Rank EX-D Demon Beetle Lord out of it. The Beetle creaked its war cry throughout the entire battlefield as it unveiled the so called legendary weapons of his own.
Those with analysis spells had shown that those polearms that the Demon Beetle Lord was holding had various traits from indestructible to triple elements power within them.
Like how the Undead zombies killed dozens in one shot in the initial phase, this was basically the same thing but on a larger scale that the Demon Beetle Lord was able to kill a few of those high level zombies with one swipe. If that caused the Star Foxes to panic, Kraft would not blame them too since those high level undead monsters were at least Rank EX or Rank EX-F.
Unfortunately, ranks seemed to play an important role in this universe and those undead zombies would never have the chance to go against the Demon Beetle Lord if they did not have the speed, skill, or intellect to fight against it.
When it comes to brute strength, the Demon Beetle Lord wins hands down and Kraft knows that if he does not do anything else, the Demon Beetle Lord will once more turn the tide in favour of the Dune Shell Orcs.
"Zzzz if they can summon a Rank EX-D Demon, then their chieftain is at least the same level or higher? That is irritating." Kraft said to himself as he finally decided to get the blob of unliving mass to accelerate.
With a snap of his finger, the blob suddenly started to pulsate and its movement felt something similar to a living thing attempting to tear open the mass to breathe. In short, it was akin to a womb, and Kraft was using the time that he had to breathe life into it.
He never expected it to extrude mana out as it's by product but that was to be expected since the womb was taking in the souls from the battlefield without permission.
The rate it was absorbing the souls was at an extraordinary rate but due to the scale of the battlefield, it did not impact the Star Foxes' use of souls to perform their spirit magic or necromancy spells. Thus, with the advent of the Demon Beetle Lord, Kraft believed it was time for the womb to give birth to its creation and defeat the Demon with a monster worse than a being who lived in Hell.
If one was given a chance to describe the menace that Kraft had created, they would probably seek penance rather than uttering a single word out.
