Nine Star Hegemon Body Arts

Chapter 7300 Major Trouble

  • Next Chapter

Long Chen stared at the nine layered runes. He felt that grand and destructive heaven-rending will. He could hear his own heart pounding in his ears. Was this the highest level of Split the Heavens?

These runes were incredibly complex; countless kinds of energy streamed within them, and anyone else would have been drawn into the profundities of these energy streams. But Long Chen didn’t care about that; he was focused on the will to split the heavens, the will to cut through all obstacles, the will to tear apart all shackles!

When viewing this talisman from the perspective of its will, those profound currents and transformations were reduced to nine types of energy layered on top of each other, working together in order to cut away everything that stood in the way of freedom.

So the nine forms of Split the Heavens have such a lofty origin... Although the form isn’t the same, they are undoubtedly connected in spirit. But this talisman is a form of distilling complexity into simplicity, and then using simple brute force! Perhaps at the pinnacle of power, everything is just this simple. The simplicity of the Grand Dao... Perhaps it is the human heart that likes complexity!

Long Chen extended his hand and crushed the talisman. This action made the palace master jump in fright. This was a divine talisman that was supposed to be used with a weapon, yet Long Chen had activated it directly!

To his surprise, a curious scene unfolded. Under Long Chen’s grip, nine runes exploded at the same time and transformed into billions of specks of light. Then, the Golden Virtue Lotus appeared behind him, and it drew in those specks of light.

The palace master’s eyes widened when he saw the golden lotus. It seemed that he had realized something.

Long Chen had decided to merge the talisman into the Golden Virtue Lotus and study it at leisure later. He was overjoyed by this opportunity. Wouldn’t this mean that he would be able to learn that incredible attack that the palace master had displayed back then?

He was very grateful to the palace master for this opportunity, and he was also impressed. This divine talisman’s energy was perfectly within the limits of what the eleven-leaf golden lotus could endure. Before advancing to the eleventh Heavenstage, he wouldn’t have been able to absorb it. In other words, the palace master had somehow figured out the perfect time to give him the talisman.

The palace master was shocked by the appearance of the golden lotus, but he didn’t say anything about it. Instead, he brought the conversation back to the initial topic. “Do you need to prepare anything? If not, we can get going right now!”

“How long will it be?” asked Long Chen.

If it was going to take a long time, he really did need to make some preparations. After all, he had only given the Brahma line three days. Although he believed that investigating who was behind the scenes would be no problem, he also believed that Lord Brahma would not take such a loss so lightly. Whatever happened, he would need to be personally present.

“It shouldn’t take more than a few hours!” answered the palace master.

“Then I don’t need to do anything. Let’s go,” said Long Chen.

The palace master grabbed Long Chen. With a single step, the two of them vanished. The moment they appeared outside of the first academy’s territory, a ferocious will of destruction locked onto them—one that Long Chen could hardly be more familiar with.

But there was something else he felt from this tribulation, something that caused his expression to change.

“Curse energy!”

This was Long Chen’s first time sensing this kind of sinister energy within a heavenly tribulation. In theory, heavenly punishment was a manifestation of supreme Yang. This kind of supreme Yin curse energy shouldn’t be able to exist within it.

The outsider laws have encroached on the nine heavens and ten lands to this extent?

Long Chen was shocked. This curse energy had to do with the outsider laws, without a question. Their encroachment had caused even heavenly tribulations to change; as a result, the advancements of the experts of the nine heavens would be many times more difficult. They would have to endure the trial of heavenly punishment while also blocking this curse energy. One mistake and they would lose their life in the tribulation.

Long Chen now understood why the palace master had asked him to stand guard. It was actually to have him learn from this experience. With the new era came a new kind of heavenly tribulation, and he had to understand it before he underwent it himself.

He had already reached the eleventh Heavenstage, and once he reached the twelfth, he would be merely one step from the Divine Sovereign realm. In the past, he had always viewed his cultivation as having thirteen Heavenstages per realm. But recently, he had realized that there were only twelve. What he used to consider the thirteenth was actually the threshold to the next realm.

“Let’s go!”

The palace master transformed into a massive black dragon. With a swing of his tail, the void collapsed, and he pulled Long Chen into a spatial channel.

The palace master travelled through this twisting space in his true form. The world was flickering violently. Long Chen felt like he had entered some kind of disjointed space. This was the palace master’s innate divine ability: control over the laws of space.

They were now shuttling through the cracks between worlds, but even so, there was a powerful force causing the surrounding space to twist violently. Even here, they could not escape that destructive will and curse energy. They were still firmly locked onto the palace master, and they refused to let go.

The outsider laws have already completely infected the laws of the nine heavens. They are already showing signs of merger!

Long Chen’s eyes narrowed. This was even worse than he had initially thought. The nine heavens’ very foundation was being corroded, and it had more and more holes. But its people didn’t even seem to notice this crisis, and they were still fighting amongst themselves. Even just thinking about it made Long Chen feel disheartened.

BOOM!

The void exploded, and they appeared in a barren wasteland. This place was littered with black rocks, and there wasn’t the slightest trace of life. It was a world of deathly stillness.

Long Chen looked up and noticed there were only a few sparse stars twinkling in the darkness. Then, he realized that they had landed on a floating landmass. When he looked down, he saw a curtain of darkness, and through that curtain of darkness, he could vaguely see endless stars.

“That is the Wall of Sighs. It is what separates the immortal world from the mortal world,” clarified the palace master.

Hearing that, Long Chen immediately thought of his father, mother, and little sister. He looked back at the darkness as if he could grasp their auras on the other side. However, his divine sense simply vanished into the darkness without causing the slightest ripple. He couldn’t sense anything.

Long Chen was at the peak of the Sovereign Lord realm, but he still felt incomparably tiny in front of this black curtain. This was a manifestation of the laws of the Grand Dao. The stronger the person, the harder it was to pass through. Even gods couldn’t do anything about it but sigh in resignation—hence the name of this curtain.

Is there really no way to bring them into the immortal world? Long Chen was unwilling to give up. No matter how strong he was, he couldn’t help thinking about his family.

Long Chen had been raised by Long Tianxiao’s family, and he considered them his own family. He had all kinds of memories growing up in that worn down noble manor. Wherever those people were, there was a haven for his soul to rest.

Yet the Martial Heaven Continent was gone, and he did not know how they were doing in their new world. Now, he knew that they were right there, beneath that darkness. This thought caused all kinds of worries to well up within him. But he knew that he couldn’t reach them, and in fact, he couldn’t even allow himself to think about reaching them.

Just as Long Chen was filled with emotions, the Primal Chaos Dragon Sovereign’s voice exploded in his mind.

“Long Chen, there’s major trouble!”
