Nine Star Hegemon Body Arts

Chapter 6961 Hanging By a Thread

Chapter 6961 Hanging By a Thread

The Zither Sect’s plaza was packed. Millions upon millions of experts filled the heart of the plaza.

Everyone from the Zither Sect, young and old, was out in full force. They formed hand seals, divine light flowing from their bodies as they calmly watched the center.

Two identical zithers floated in the center of the plaza. Their overwhelming power made the whole Zither Sect tremble.

Any outsider would be stunned to see this. The Zither Sect actually had two Heavenly Devil Zithers?

One zither gave off a holy light, while the other released a dark, sinister energy.

Countless zither strings swirled around the one shrouded in dark energy, twisting like devilish dragons. Cries of pain, resentment, anger, and sorrow echoed nonstop.

Each string was packed with deep resentment and hatred, sealing countless souls inside. The Zither Sect’s experts shuddered at the sight.

However, none of them dared to move. As the dark energy wrapped the divine light flowing out of them, the demonic zither’s aura seeped into the sacred one.

Three elders stood by the sacred Heavenly Devil Zither, radiating powerful fluctuations filled with faith energy and karmic luck.

Their fluctuations were incredibly terrifying. They were like supreme gods that could extinguish all life with a single thought.

These three were truly supreme existences. One was a white-haired man with the look of an immortal Daoist and a deep “Plains” character on his forehead. He was Cao Yiyang, the Zither Sect’s founder and current sect master.

The “Plains” character was a symbol of his cautiousness, always looking ahead and behind him. Because of this, he constantly frowned, forming furrows in his forehead. He perfectly matched the sweeping elder’s evaluation of him.

The second elder wore black-and-white robes and had a thin, gloomy face. He was Xie Lingyun, the Chess Sect’s master, who called himself “the black-and-white piece”.

Xie Lingyun was also an overlord from the primal chaos era and had lived for ages. He was a master schemer, ruthless in his ways. Black-and-white runes flickered in his eyes, always calculating.

Xie Lingyun was very arrogant. He had once claimed that if all the world’s talent totaled one hundred, the Star Master had eighty percent, he had ten, and the rest was shared by the rest of the heavenly geniuses of the world.

However, Xie Lingyun only rose to power in the later period of the primal chaos era, after the Star Master had died, so he was really calling himself the best.

History said his boast drew many challengers. He was hunted down, nearly killed, and had to beg for mercy and take back his arrogant words.

As for how Xie Lingyun became the master of the Chess Sect, no one knew the secrets behind it. All they knew was that Xie Lingyun was not originally a member of the Chess Sect.

The third person stood with a giant scroll of painting on his back. His robes looked like paintings of mountains, plains, and rivers. It was the master of the Painting Sect, Luo Tianxiang[1].

Though his hair was white, Luo Tianxiang looked young, maybe in his thirties, with a cold glint in his eyes.

Luo Tianxiang wasn’t an expert from the primal chaos era. He was a genius who later rose in the Painting Sect, reaching the peak of the Painting Dao at a young age and creating many divine abilities.

However, due to being born in the wrong era, he had no choice but to seal himself to resist the blade of time. He only awakened at this era to reclaim the Painting Sect.

Although Luo Tianxiang was younger, he was incredibly strong. His Blood Qi hadn’t faded like the other two, and his presence was just as powerful.

The three elders stood around the Heavenly Devil Zither, each holding a one-handed seal. The law power of the Grand Dao formed chains that bound the sacred zither.

The sacred zither’s light was fading. Inside the glow, a woman in a violet dress could vaguely be seen.

Her eyes were shut, and her face looked pale, with a faint trace of pain clouding her beauty. She was unconscious and powerless to resist.

This was Zi Yan. After the last battle, the sacred zither had drawn her inside to save her life, but that was its limit. It was powerless to help her recuperate.

Over this long period, the sacred Heavenly Devil Zither’s core energy was nearly gone. With three sect masters and the sinister Heavenly Devil Zither against her, Zi Yan was helpless.

“Liao Yuhuang, what are you doing?! Concentrate! Don’t you dare slack off!”

A woman’s cold voice suddenly rang out from among the Zither Sect’s disciples.

At the front stood a handsome man with a face like carved jade. He kept his hands behind his back and carried himself with icy arrogance, standing out among all the Zither Sect’s disciples.

Four women stood behind him, including Liao Yuhuang.

Except for the arrogant man, all the disciples formed hand seals, burning their own power to support Sect Master Cao Yiyang.

Although the three sect masters were working together, Cao Yiyang, as the host, naturally had to put in more effort. As a result, the entire Zither Sect was out in full force.

The woman who scolded Liao Yuhuang stood in the same row. She was also one of the four Music Maestros. However, when she looked at Liao Yuhuang, her face showed clear disdain and jealousy. She didn’t bother to hide her dislike.

The other two Music Maestros looked the same way. They didn’t speak against Liao Yuhuang, but their contempt toward her was obvious. Even as fellow Maestros, they showed Liao Yuhuang no respect.

Liao Yuhuang stayed silent. The three “noble” Music Maestros had always opposed her since she wasn’t from the main sect or a major clan. They looked down on her from the beginning.

Liao Yuhuang was anxious. She hadn’t expected the Zither Sect to act so fast. Long Chen had just entered the Devil Suppressing Illusion Realm when they made their move, even bringing in the sect masters of the Chess and Painting Sect.

She could only watch as Zi Yan was slowly pulled out. Once that happened, Zi Yan would surely die, and there was nothing she could do. Even if she wanted to risk her life for Zi Yan, she was too weak to change anything.

Though her heart ached, Liao Yuhuang knew she was helpless. After being scolded, she forced herself to focus.

“Shut up! If you disturb the sect master, I won’t go easy on you!” snapped the arrogant man at the front.

“Yes, Music Grandmaster!” the woman replied at once, but she looked pleased as she glanced at Liao Yuhuang.

This arrogant man was the Zither Sect’s top junior expert, known as the Music Grandmaster. He ranked just below Cao Yiyang. Though he acted impartial, everyone knew Liao Yuhuang’s absent-mindedness had annoyed him.

“Long Chen, I’m sorry. I really can’t do anything. Please don’t blame me!” Liao Yuhuang sighed to herself, her eyes full of guilt.
