Chapter 6564 Star Disc Summons
Chapter 6564 Star Disc Summons
Xue Ying, Aogu, and hundreds of the nine star line’s experts were kneeling in a large hall.
The hall itself was dark and frighteningly quiet. Despite there being thousands of experts lined up inside, not a single person dared to make a sound. The gathered cultivators came from all generations—men and women, elders and youths. Among the younger generation, those qualified to stand here possessed an aura no weaker than Xue Ying’s.
At this moment, these young heavenly geniuses were staring at Xue Ying and the others contemptuously. The latter was kneeling on the ground like convicts.
“Millions of our elite disciples, led by three top heavenly geniuses, entered the heaven region’s battlefield. We did not ask you to sweep through the battlefield, but surely you should have been able to bring back all the original devil race’s members inside, right? Instead, only a few of you returned, with merely three thousand original devil disciples. Furthermore, all of them are incredibly weak and pathetic. Tell me, have you lived up to the Star Prince’s name?” An elder complained.
This white-haired elder sat at the very front, with a ring of stars swirling behind his head. His aura was incredibly powerful, filled with law power.
Like Ye Boran, this elder was also a Divine Sovereign, but a more terrifying one. His voice rumbled like thunder raging through the hall.
If Long Chen were here, he would immediately recognize this elder as the guardian of the Star Prince’s palace—the same elder he had tricked after using Bing Yi’s soul as a conduit to enter the palace.
Long Chen hadn’t seen much inside the palace before this terrifying guardian sensed him. Pretending to be one of Bing Yi’s subordinates, Long Chen had spouted a few lies and fled... but not before slapping the elder across the face.
At the time, he had no idea he had struck a Divine Sovereign.
Xue Ying’s face turned ashen. She understood she had narrowly escaped death, at least for the moment. She couldn’t utter a single word.
After all, Bing Yi—the elder’s direct descendant—was dead.
Although Xue Ying hadn’t killed her, they had always been rivals. Now that the nine star line had taken such huge losses, it would be difficult for her to escape responsibility. This elder definitely wouldn’t be letting her off lightly.
Aogu, who had long since lost his usual air of arrogance, reported, “Star Guardian, this isn’t my fault! I was just obeying orders and was standing guard over the original devil race as I was told—”
“Silence!” the white-haired elder roared. “Before going, I already said that while you were split into three squads, you were all on the same side. You would share victory and defeat. Yet, for the sake of three thousand worthless disciples of the original devil race, you sacrificed millions of elite disciples. Even ten thousand deaths would not atone for this!”
Aogu despaired, knowing it would be hard for him to escape death. Perhaps he would die alongside Xue Ying.
“Star Guardian, Xue Ying and the others do bear responsibility for what happened in the heaven region’s battlefield. But the true problem was that nomadic nine star heir named Long Chen. He gained the Earth Cauldron’s approval and became its master. Xue Ying’s reports also mention that he possesses a saber of astounding origin. And then... there is that demonic beast—the green parrot of unknown level. That parrot could resist the influence of a primal chaos divine item. There are too many suspicious factors to this,” said one elder.
This elder sat at the front of his line. While his aura was formidable, it was still far below the Star Guardian’s. Even so, it was vastly stronger than Long Can’s. He was likely a half-step Divine Sovereign.
Another elder said, “Indeed. Beyond the heaven region’s battlefield, seventeen other channels linking the Primal Chaos World and the nine heavens erupted into large-scale battles. Our nine star line performed brilliantly there, enough to compensate for the losses on the heaven region’s battlefield.
“We encountered many powerful existences in those channels and learned much about the nine heavens from them. Long Chen is a major figure there. There were eighteen channels in total. With one collapsing, the others have started to react. The heaven region’s battlefield was the sole light channel, while the remaining seventeen were dark. But because of the chain reaction, all of them are turning into light channels.”
Another elder warned, “Thanks to that, the reunion of the nine heavens and the Primal Chaos World has accelerated dramatically. Reports indicate that some experts from the nine heavens have already found cracks in the inverted flow of spacetime and slipped into the Primal Chaos World. If our nine star line does not quicken its pace, we will fall behind the others.”
“That’s right, the Star Master Palace’s Star Disc has started spinning. Many of the vagrant nine star heirs feel its summons, and some of them have already entered the Primal Chaos World. With this world’s vastness and countless dangers, we must find a way to link up with them. These vagrant heirs may not be powerful, but their numbers are staggering. They will serve as the foundation of our rise. Preparations must be made.”
Despite losing millions of disciples, the heaven region’s battlefield was only one of eighteen channels. In the greater picture, the loss was painful but not crippling. There was no point in dwelling on it. What mattered was the next step.
“Xue Ying and the others clearly lack leadership. Their incompetence cost countless lives. They must be executed,” a young disciple said as he stepped forward boldly.
“That’s right, Xue Ying is always so arrogant. She thinks she’s clever, but her arrogance caused this disaster.”
“So many of us died for nothing. Are we the greatest warriors of the nine heavens and ten lands or not? Where’s our dignity?!”
“There is no escaping responsibility. Only death can repay this. Let’s not waste time!”
The younger generation’s rivals seized the opportunity to demand Xue Ying’s execution.
None of them showed the slightest sympathy. After all, competition among Heaven-tier heirs was vicious. After all, the current nine star line walked the path of a god legacy; only those at the very peak were qualified to inherit a throne and take advantage of its power.
And though Xue Ying was not the strongest, she was clever—too clever—and the only one praised directly by the Star Prince. That alone was enough to stir jealousy.
Now, her failure had opened the perfect chance to get rid of her.
As the younger generation roared for Xue Ying’s death, the senior generation focused on moving the discussion forward. But with the casualties from the heaven region’s battlefield, they couldn’t shield her.
After hearing all the protests, the Star Guardian waved his hand.
He declared, “In that case, toss them into the astral burial ground!”
Countless astral chains extended out of the void, binding Xue Ying and the others. They were dragged into the darkness.
“No!” Aogu and the others howled.
Just then, those chains shattered. Xue Ying and the others came flying out of the darkness, arriving at the hall once again.
“Leave them. Give them a chance to make it up,” an icy, dignified voice commanded.
Hearing that voice, the Star Guardian stood from his throne and bowed.
“Greetings, Star Prince!”
“Give them one year,” the voice continued. “If they fail to make up for their losses, execute them.”
“Many thanks, Star Master!” Aogu and the others kowtowed fervently.
Only Xue Ying remained motionless in her kneeling position. As she pressed her fingers against the cold floor tiles, no one knew what she was thinking.
