Nine Star Hegemon Body Arts

Chapter 5704: Yue Changfeng’s Death

Chapter 5704: Yue Changfeng’s Death

With a snap of his fingers, countless experts turned to ash. These were elites who had participated in the attack against the Dragonblood Legion. Even the weakest among them had condensed seven core veins; otherwise, they wouldn't have qualified for this battle.

Nearly half of these experts possessed nine core veins, some even merging them into one. Yet, in the blink of an eye, they were all annihilated.

Jiang Yue’e and Feng Fei stared in disbelief. Their minds refused to accept what they had just witnessed. This had to be an illusion.

But as those experts vanished, a handful of figures emerged—thirteen-vein Heaven Saints who had concealed themselves within the chaos. Now that everyone else was dead, they had no choice but to step forward. Adding them to Fantian De, Li Changgeng, and the other idiots, a total of thirteen peak idiots now stood before Long Chen.

“There's no way you just came up with that move. You must have mastered it long ago. Why have you never used it before?” The Primal Chaos Dragon Sovereign’s voice echoed in Long Chen’s mind, tinged with shock.

The devastation was beyond belief. Merging two opposing forces before detonating them—such an approach was pure madness. Yet Long Chen had made it work. There was no way he hadn’t tested this countless times before, and yet, the Dragon Sovereign had never seen him use it.

“I didn’t dare,” Long Chen replied. “That bastard is always watching me. Any technique I use, he learns instantly. But I don’t get to learn his stuff in return.”

“Are you sure it isn’t spying on you now?” asked the Dragon Sovereign.

Long Chen chuckled. “When I obtained the three thousand original Jiuli divine runes, my first thought was to integrate them into my Purgatory Eyes—to use them to spy on him instead. And I actually succeeded. Sometimes, he isn’t ‘home.’ When he’s not, he can’t watch me. Of course, I can’t see him either. But this time, I made sure to check before using it.”

“You are a devious one!” the Dragon Sovereign laughed.

“Me? He’s even worse,” Long Chen scoffed. “Look at how he dealt with Zhu Min. Against an opponent like that, he could have slowly worn him down. But no, he went straight for the kill the moment he found an opening. Why? Because he doesn’t want you, the Earth Cauldron, or Evilmoon to remember his techniques and pass them to me. He’s always scheming to suppress me. If I keep playing by his rules, I’ll never beat him. But after Zhu Yin’s blood curse struck him, he’s out of commission, hiding somewhere to recuperate. For now, I can do as I please without him copying my techniques.”

Their exchange lasted only the blink of an eye, but Long Chen was jolted back to reality by the sound of blood splattering. His gaze fell upon Yue Changfeng.

Yue Changfeng was in a wretched state, drenched in blood. The once-radiant Dark Golden Battle Armor had lost its luster.

Parts of his body were charred black, his hair an unruly mess. Even with the armor’s protection, he hadn’t escaped unscathed.

Earlier, during his battle against Li Qi and Song Mingyuan, Yue Changfeng had already pushed the Dark Golden Battle Armor to its limits. The armor had absorbed every strike from Li Qi’s crystal battle-axe, preventing Yue Changfeng from being pulverized. Without it, even as a thirteen-vein Heaven Saint, he wouldn’t have lasted against them.

Now, the armor had lost its effectiveness. Meanwhile, Fantian De, Li Changgeng, and the others were completely uninjured. Clearly, their power far surpassed Yue Changfeng’s.

Long Chen’s attack might have been terrifying, but its power was spread over a huge area. It wasn’t enough to cause lethal injuries to experts of their caliber.

Suddenly, Long Chen moved.

Still coughing blood, Yue Changfeng instinctively thrust his Slaughter Lance forward while retreating at full speed.

Shockingly, his lance pierced Long Chen’s chest, yet at the same moment, Long Chen’s hand gripped Yue Changfeng’s throat.

The spectators gasped, but then they realized upon closer look. Yue Changfeng’s lance had merely passed by Long Chen—it had never struck him. What they saw was an illusion.

Yue Changfeng trembled in Long Chen’s grasp, as powerless as a chicken caught in a predator’s claws.

Long Chen’s eyes were dark and cold. He said, “You truly are hopelessly foolish. Without my help, you would have never obtained that Dark Golden Battle Armor. Without it, you never would have condensed thirteen veins. And yet, after gaining power, the first thing you do is target my brothers? I’ve met all kinds of people, but few as treacherous as you. Biting the hand that fed you—how pathetic.”

Yue Changfeng was terrified. His arrogance had vanished. He tried to struggle, but his body refused to obey.

Desperately, he turned to Fantian De and the others. Surely, they would save him. His death would weaken their forces, wouldn’t it?

But what he saw crushed him.

Not a single one of them moved to help. Their eyes were indifferent, watching without the slightest intention of intervening.

“Long Chen…”

Lu Qingshuang’s voice rang out at this moment, trembling. She wanted to plead for mercy but found herself unable to.

“It’s pointless,” Long Chen said coldly. “If he had only targeted me, there might have been room for discussion. But he went after my brothers. Not even a Sovereign could save him now.” 𝘳𝙖₦օ฿Ěṣ

Yue Changfeng’s head exploded.

His foolish life was extinguished in an instant.

Among all the thirteen-vein Heaven Saints, he had been the weakest. To the others, he had always been a mere clown, oblivious to the truth.

His foolishness had not only sealed his own fate but also doomed tens of millions of the Golden Armor Horseman Legion’s warriors. Their deaths were all because of him.

Long Chen waved his hand, sending the lance and the dimmed battle armor toward Lu Qingshuang. She caught them instinctively, her face pale.

“No matter what, we once fought side by side. I return these to you. As for the survival of the Sacred Light Divine Sect—that is in your hands,” Long Chen stated.

His meaning was clear. He had no interest in their treasures. But the fate of the Sacred Light Divine Sect depended on Lu Qingshuang’s decision.

The sect had suffered a crushing blow, having lost their strongest warrior and countless elites. They would definitely not let it go like this. But if they sought vengeance, Long Chen would erase them from existence.

However, if Lu Qingshuang could become the new leader with these two priceless treasures, then she could change the fate of the Sacred Light Divine Sect. Whether they were friends or foes depended on her.

Tears streamed down Lu Qingshuang’s face as she clutched the armor and spear. Overwhelmed by grief, she led the remaining members of the Golden Armor Horseman Legion away.

Just then, a slow, mocking clap broke the silence.

Li Changgeng walked forward, indifferently saying, “That afterimage technique was quite impressive. But it changes nothing. You’re still going to die here.”

The other peak experts moved into position, encircling Long Chen. Their killing intent surged like an unending tide, threatening to swallow the heavens themselves.
