Chapter 5474 Who Lost
Chapter 5474 Who Lost
As Long Chen and Mo Yang separated, flames erupted from their bodies. The fiery glow of their dragon blood runes ignited, signaling that both combatants had reached the peak of their power.
The crowd braced themselves, expecting a brief pause. Instead, both fighters simultaneously formed hand seals.
“Black Dragon God Slasher!”
“Divine Dragon Tail Pendulum!”
Their voices rang out like a decree from ancient heavens. Mo Yang’s manifestation unfurled, and a massive dragon tail materialized, slashing downward like an executioner’s blade. At the same time, Long Chen unleashed a kick, and his dragon tail whipped through the air, sweeping with unstoppable force.
The suffocating pressure from the two techniques was unbearable, forcing the spectators to retreat from the battlefield. Though many were proud and competitive, none were foolish enough to linger within the range of such destructive power.
The sheer intensity of the techniques was terrifying. If just their formation could create such an oppressive force, their clash promised devastation beyond imagination, possibly obliterating their flesh and bone.
Most of the experts scattered to safety, leaving only the race leaders and a few thousand disciples near the martial stage. Those who stayed were visibly shaken, yet their blood surged with excitement. Their dragon bloodlines responded instinctively, causing scales to emerge on their bodies as they braced themselves to endure the shockwave.
When the two dragon tails collided, the impact was cataclysmic. Violet Blood Qi erupted as both attacks disintegrated upon contact, releasing an explosive force. A spot of light from the epicenter of the clash expanded explosively until it filled the martial stage.
Thousands of experts were thrown through the air, their scales shattered, bones fractured, and blood spurting uncontrollably. They slammed into walls with bone-crunching force, and quite a few of them directly passed out.
Qi waves battered the martial stage’s barrier, shaking the Ten Thousand Dragon Nest violently as if it were on the verge of exploding.
The ones who had fled in advance weren’t injured thanks to the barrier. However, those who had chosen to stay were all bloody and bruised. Only a handful were still standing normally.
The smart ones who had retreated couldn’t help but gasp in relief. They silently praised their wisdom, grateful for the decision that had spared them such a gruesome fate.
This moment encapsulated the truth of the old saying: those who drown often know how to swim. The braver—or perhaps more reckless—souls who had chosen to stay on the martial stage believed their strength would be enough to endure the shockwave, but they were the ones who ended up in a more wretched state. Had the cautious ones remained instead, they might not have lived to regret it.
The martial stage was still shaking. Mo Ying and the other half-step Dragon Emperors, along with over a dozen of the dragon race’s monstrous geniuses, were still within the arena. However, even they had been driven to its very edges.
Their manifestations flickered ominously, arms crossed before them as they struggled to resist the shockwaves. Even the likes of them had to unleash their full power to resist.
Amidst this chaos, Mo Yang’s voice rang out, clear and commanding, cutting through the rumble of destruction.
“This is my strongest technique. If you cannot block it, don’t try—or you’ll lose your life.”
Behind Mo Yang, his manifestation churned violently, its energy boiling like magma on the verge of eruption.
“Dragon Soars Through the Four Seas, Ten Thousand Dao Deathblow!”
With a roar, Mo Yang’s manifestation condensed into his body. His outstretched hand revealed a black totem glowing with an ominous light.
The Ten Thousand Dragon Nest responded immediately, trembling as countless dragon runes ignited in a dazzling display. The entire structure seemed alive, pulsating with an ancient, destructive power.
BOOM!
“He broke the barrier!” Mo Ying’s voice quivered with shock.
Mo Yang’s power had exceeded the limits of the martial stage itself, a feat almost unthinkable. The explosion sent ripples of energy tearing through the surroundings. Mo Ying and the others looked on in disbelief.
“Long Chen!” Mo Ying cried out.
As a member of the black dragon race, she understood better than most just how devastating this attack was. Even she couldn’t guarantee survival against it. If Long Chen dared to meet it head-on, it could very well cost him his life.
Long Chen, however, remained calm. His gaze was steady as he drew a deep breath.
“It’s indeed powerful,” he said, his tone carrying a mix of acknowledgment and determination. “But I, too, have a move that I haven’t used. Let’s decide victory or defeat here.”
Long Chen extended his hand. The divine ring spinning behind him came to an abrupt halt, its radiance dimming as the dragon image within it dissipated. In its place, a blood-red cross materialized on his palm, glowing with a deadly, oppressive light.
The crimson cross had barely materialized in Long Chen’s palm when Mo Yang’s strike landed.
BOOM!
With a heaven-shaking explosion, the two of them both spat out blood and shot back.
“Not good!”
Mo Ying and the other half-step Dragon Emperors immediately sensed a terrifying astral wind unleashed by the clash. With the barrier destroyed, the shockwave surged outward uncontrollably, threatening to obliterate the entire Ten Thousand Dragon Nest.
None of them possessed the power to stabilize the martial stage or contain this destructive force. Their faces paled as panic and regret consumed them. This single moment could spell the annihilation of the dragon race’s most promising heavenly geniuses.
Just then, the shattered barriers reappeared in a flash. At its reformation, both Mo Yang and Long Chen slammed into opposite ends of the barriers. Their bodies rebounded violently, and it forced them to cough up more blood.
Mo Ying and the others stared in shock before a wave of relief and joy washed over them. Their attention was quickly drawn to the sovereign dragon reverse scale on the altar, as it glowed with an ancient light.
“The sovereign dragon reverse scale has awakened?!” shouted one of the onlookers.
The sight left the onlookers speechless. Even after enduring such a cataclysmic exchange, these two warriors still had the strength to continue.
At this moment, Long Chen and Mo Yang crawled up. People were shocked to see that both of their gazes were sharp, and even after such a terrifying battle, they still had the power to keep fighting.
After that, the dragon experts that had refused to submit to Mo Yang were fully convinced. His terrifying power had already toppled their impression of the human race’s weak bodies.
“I lost,” Mo Yang said.
While Mo Yang did that, she looked at Long Chen, shocking and enraging the dragon experts.
“Impossible! Senior Mo Yang, you haven’t used your full power! You didn’t even take out the legendary Heaven Devil Life Hunting Spear, so how could you just admit defeat?!” shouted the people familiar with Mo Yang.
In the dragon race’s stone murals, there were images of Mo Yang wielding a spear and hunting down Heaven Devils. Mo Yang was not in his strongest state.
For him to admit defeat at this moment was a blow to the pride of the dragon race’s heavenly geniuses. Acknowledging defeat meant that they would have to obey Long Chen’s commands, a result they found unacceptable.
“No, I was the one who lost.”
His calm words cut through the uproar like a blade, silencing the outrage and replacing it with stunned confusion.
